Bikini malfunction!!!! Help me, I'm sweating off the calories on RISA!

I found one alarming problem with Star Trek Online... we have NO bikinis or briefs in game! I don't know about you but I find it really weird visiting Risa and being pimped out in my Starfleet duds. There isn't even an Outfit option that lets everyone see my masculine blue chest!

This needs to be rectified soon - tonight my Fleet is having an RP event on Risa, and its going to be funny having everyone dressed up IN the sun and ON the beach! I know nothing can be done now but its something that needs to be done.

I have a SIMPLE solution: When you wear armor, it changes your appearance. You can even right-click on the armor and have it disappear so you can wear the armor, get the bonuses, and still be in your Starfleet outfit.

Bikini's and brief's should be the same thing. Have a "Bikini & Brief" vendor where you beam down on Risa. From them you can buy all kinds and colors of bikini's and briefs (though bikini's will look odd on men lol), and you wear them by equipping them in your armor slot.

*BAM* your Starfleet uniform disappears and you're clad in all sorts of various bikini/briefs so you can really have fun down on RISA.

If you are worried that people will wear them out in space, you could make them not work outside of RISA. When you land, they "activate" and you look like you're on vacation. You just want to prevent dorks from running around Sol Starbase dressed only in some pink briefs!!! :)

Anway, an idea to consider. I'm tired of sweating on RISA!!! :)

See the problem would be I'd just run around with my whole crew in swim cloths.

I don't know about all the time, but, for lore reasons, the Risans should be in lesser clothes; they never wore much more than bikins/briefs in any of the episodes they were featured.

That being said, doesn't Starfleet have a "Don't ask, don't tell" policy for inner-ship dress codes? =P

The nature of the speices customization makes portraying ununiform clothing a daunting task. Basically that what does Speices X look like naked and working up from there. It's not like in WoW where everyone is basically the same shape with the same 3 sizes, skin tones, and anatomy.

And I doubt they'd allow you to introduce custom skins into the game for personal use. Obvious problems with that you know.

Based on the types of costume options Cryptic has provided in the past for City of Heroes and Champions Online I see no reason why A) they couldn't provide us with some 'casual' clothes to fit in with places like Risa and B) make them be wearable -wherever- we want.

Now of course there'd be a few Star Trek purists out there who'd get upset to see people running around in tank tops or bikinis on a starbase, but frankly they'd need to get over themselves with that. I admit even I would think a person like that was an idiot for not being dressed appropriately. But all I'd need to do about that is to not bother associating with those people. It's that simple.

Bottomline I'd love to have as many costume choices as possible in this game. But this idea of limiting options based on which zone I'm in is just a crummy idea in principal regardless of the rationale. :(
