I swear, what now? Can't log in again. Says server is up, but keep trying and all I get is "you are not allowed to log into server" message...

I don't see any notice of any awareness of any server problems...

I noticed something on the launcher earlier about registration codes...

Well, I poked around and discovered that the grace period ends as of midnight PST, so that made me think I needed to enter a key.

Well, guess what Cryptic, I received my key on the 2nd of Feb, and on numerous occasions went in search of where to enter the keys (bought 2 retail, so 2 keys) and went to Account, went to User CP on site, went to everywhere I'd think there might be an option to guess what... enter a fricking key. But no luck. So, I figured since I was a Lifetime purchaser, you didn't need me to enter another key and so, no option to do so.

So now, I finally found something in the FAQ's with a URL to enter a key. And now I can get back into the game, that was the problem. You guys are fricking ********.

Thanks for making me **** around and hunt for something and have to screw with it for 30 minutes when I could have done it back on Feb 2nd if you'd get your #### together and put things where they should be. Gee, go figure that its something other than common sense to give us a box in the Account management windows to enter a fricking key?!?

You guys are clueless.

Next thing you know, they might actually put a "known issues" sticky post in the gameplay bugs forum, because goodness, maybe they'll realize that that's where players will look for awareness of huge problems they're experiencing with the game, like the big "Game Server Disconnected" error message players are getting all the time and getting kicked out of the game all across the game and on all kinds of quests... but nothing on the forums acknowledging things like this. Common sense.

I think this game is being run by ... something less than competent project developers, to put it nicely.

I had this problem too. What took me five minutes of searching this whole website should have taken me one minute, if not less.

For anyone else who's looking, the URL is http://www.startrekonline.com/enter_key

Oh, and if you are on Steam, then you can get your keys by right-clicking on STO and selecting View CD Key

where do I go to just set up my subscription with them, because I have entered my key from the digital deluxe edition already and my account says I have subscription active. I am getting this "unable to log onto this server at this time" thing too. Does this sound like I got a faulty key or just need to set up a recurring scrip?

Well, at least some of you folks have retail code to put in.

Me and countless others are still waiting for ours. Good job choosing reliable retailers, Cryptic!

Well it has to be some other error.
Because i entered the key, i did make (STUPID ME) 1 more month subscribtion, because you don't have any other choice but to buy a subscribtion for 1 more month.

But still i can't log into the game.

Same problem here. I pre-ordered Digital Deluxe Edition from Atari DE. They sent me one key with confirmation email, which I already activated. I also paid for 12-month-subscription. Everthing worked fine until today. But now I'm not allowed to log in !?

Go take your head for a dump. Idiot.

It's not working for some of us, i tried steam, and yeah it seems you need to add a supscription...but as one of you said you already tried that then...

I'm not paying, i still have 30 days free. (ish)

Blame the people responsible....Cryptic are the developers they wouldn't have anything to do with distribution...too busy screwing up the servers and combat difficulty.

I believe the people you want to yell at are Atari? No?

How HARD WOULD IT HAVE BEEN to bloody well GIVE US SOME NOTICE that this would be necessary DESPITE HAVING 30 DAYS FREE.

GEE. I wonder. Will CRYPTIC award us the FREE TIME we DAMN WELL DESERVE?!

Quick question, when you entered your key, did you 'have' to set up a subscription?

You hit right on the nail on that one. No wonder. :D I made a mistake thinking getting the preorder from actual publisher would be the most reliable way, but yeah...

ok, this should help some of you who did the digital downloads.
go back to the site you got it from : fileplanet or direct to drive, click download and it should give you the key. then you can access your payment plan.
also, go to here http://www.startrekonline.com/activate to put your cd key in, from there you should know what to do :)
hope this helps all of you.

Foosball, I don't know what you're talking about. What's amazing is when you can learn to type in full sentences and actually say something.

Set up your account? My account has been set up since beta. I entered beta and pre-order codes because the websites of the companies I purchased them from linked me directly to the URL to enter the codes from URLs in their mail messages. Similarly, when I saw an advert to become a lifetimer, the flow of the transaction made that happen, and in My Account and User CP, I can see each transaction's registration and recognition of my status for what keys and status has been entered, the outputs of having entered the keys - is where people will also expect the inputs to be located. In the Account and User CP trails of interfaces, they lead you to these status indicators, as well as your billing transactions and credit card, user account information changes, and Cryptic Points purchases... so it is here you would also expect to find the place to actually enter the keys, too, where players will "logically" expect to enter keys from now to months and years from now when new players purchase the game or expansions. Just like other MMOs do.

But heh, why waste logic and common sense on a troll who can't express themselves in English. Stick to Uruk Hai. Its better suited to your intellect and behavior.
