The bouncing around in sector space it driving me nuts!

I'm getting horribly annoyed trying to get through sector space. It's pretty much taking 2 steps forward and 1 step back. I make progress alright, but it's slow. It's only in sector space that I see this problem, not in ground or space missions.

Is there an expected fix for this rather annoying phenomenon?

It's a symptom of lag called rubber-banding, and the only way to fix it is to increase server capacity which is coming soon(tm)
