whenever I open the exchange a "no items were found" message appears, I dont think that absolutely no one is using the exchange, is it a bug or is this happening to other people as well?

You have to search through each category for items, or input a full, complete item name .
It'll work then.

Double click on the category names to the left.
It will show all items in that category.
They actually saved some loading time with the exchange, by not having all items appear by default as soon as you open the Exchange.
