I think you should be able to repackage items and sell them on the exchange if you have used them I mean you have a limited amount of storage as it is so allowing us to sell stuff we no longer use would be the right move.

Reason I think this should be allowed as you can sell used items in real life so why not in sto.

The only things you can't sell on the exchange are thing bound to you. Only green or better bind, with a few exceptions, and usually only when equipped. Some of the better quest rewards, as well as preorder bonuses, are bound the second you pick them up. I presume the raid rewards, when those release, will bind on pickup as well.

The binding mechanic is to ensure the rarer items maintain their value. If you could use a rare item then resell it, what happens as more and more players get them? They continue to resell them when they're done, more and more saturate the market, and suddenly those rare high quality items have the same value as the commons you can buy from vendors.

In real life, if your vehicle blows up, you don't get to come back either..... :)

As long as it's a white item you can do so and a lot of people actually do. If you can do it with all better quality items then in a year from now those items will have zero value since there are simply too many of them on the exchange. How do you expect to make some EC then?

Also you can sell the stuff you don't need anyways, no matter if it's bound or not, just visit a vendor.

Actually I don't really understand why you made this post in the first place... You do realise that vendors exist right?

Your last argument is also kinda flawed, after I 'used'/ ate a banana I don't sell the skin on e-bay either, I just throw it in the trash bin. The majority of the items you use are infact usually thrown away after they outlived their use, unless you're some kinda modern space hippie or ferengi that tries to re-use or sell everything, depending on which of the 2 you are. ;)

You can sell any unbound items, even if they've been used.
If you mean bound items, I disagree.
