I'm an engineering captain. I've put my points thus far into Energy Weapons and Beam Weapons. I have spent NO POINTS into cannons or projectiles. I am currently flying a T3 Cruiser and I've been using 250' Arc Plasma Beam Arrays.

I've heard the T4 Cruiser (Galaxy Class) is "Broken as Intended" in regards to turn rate. (reference: http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=108136&page=14 )

Is it so bad that I should jump over to a tactical ship for T4?

If I end up jumping over to a tactical ship in T4, will I be a total gimp trying to use beam weapons? (Perhaps the smaller arc'ed ones since I will have a better turn rate?)

It isn't so bad. Well, it is so bad. But PvE is easy and the exploration cruiser can get you through it just fine. It just isn't as much fun.

And you can also stick with the T3 cruiser or go with a T4 science vessel.

Or you could fly a T4 galaxy crusier which is a great ship and works a treat in PvP and PvE,
