View Full Version : Jem'Hadar combat feedback

I like fighting the Jem'Hadar, but I do have some suggestions to improve them in the game.

Remember on DS9 when the Jem'hadar would often kamikaze and slam/smash and ram their ships into their enemies? Examples: Against the Klingons, against the U.S.S. Odyssey (http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/USS_Odyssey).

The Jem'hadar in STO don't do this - and in my opinion - should sometimes. If there is only one of their ships left in the system, I don't think they should do it, but if there are a few of them around, I'd like to see them do this once in a while. It would make them more bold and aggressive seeming. The damage would likely be kinetic and somewhat similar to ramming speed, but different, as it would result in the destruction of their ship and severe damage to their target. I've seen many posts where players are asking to make the combat more difficult and challenging. This might be one way of improving in that area.

I like how they can cloak/stealth in ground combat in the game like on the show.

The melee weapons they use, the Kar'takins (http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Kar'takin), are great, and were featured on the show as well. We can presently use Bat'leths, which are nice. I would like to be able to obtain (loot or purchase) the Kar'takin (http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Kar'takin) weapons the Jem'Hadar are using. It would add another good melee weapon and a little variety to our choices in using these types of weapons, as opposed to just having the Bat'leth.

Ramming speed for the Jem'Hadar? I would love to see it, but I can hear the screams of the little children unable to accept or adapt to a challenge from here. The amusement factor of that alone might make it worth it.

Also signed for more selection of melee weapons, and that Jem'Hadar ground cloaks are cool.

This'd be great actually. Like a 3/5 possibility that per squad 1 Dominion fighter would ram you once at least 1 of their shields goes down.

I like this idea.
Well, you should be able to dodge it if you are fast enough and expect it though.

Yes, add ramming speed for Dominion Bug ships! This would greatly contribute to their aggressive nature and players should be then able to stop them by using tractor beam or using evasive maneuver to evade it.

I'm not so sure though if it shall directly penetrate the shields then like they did in the DS9 show to the USS Odyssey or heavily damage the shield arc like the fragment of the Mokai escort cruiser has to the Enterprise-E in the movie Nemesis.

Can we get a sticky for this post please devs? :) Based on the responses, it sounds like a great deal of people like these suggestions.

Signed. I like these ideas a lot. They'd make the game better.

After more game play, I'm entirely convinced these would be good additions to the game.

I think Jem'Hadar weapons that do bleed damage over time would be good too, what with their rifles containing an anti-coagulant.

The Odyssey took the shield down because it didnt work against the phased Polaron weapons and so they have more power to other systems.

I hope the devs read this thread and incorporate these ideas into the game

/signed! I like the idea of obtaining kar'takins, and possibly even having a crossed pair of them as a trophy.
