I know I know, so many of you love and support STO....I get it. But i haven't logged in for almost a week and after seeing that the 45 day patch is going to probably hit closer to 50-60 days and conveniently makes it hard for any one who wants to try it out to have to sub for another month.
After reading what's in it, if we're not big into Pvp that's ground or fleet actions that are ground (Look at the survey results, what is the game doing right? Oh yeah space...) and woot woot we can now actually have less queue time by beating up on other Feds. I'm sorry but I just don't know why any of us who have been a RA for over a month would want to continue to keep playing. The category with the biggest update....Drum roll please, yes the C-Store because we heard you crying for cosmetic things and we're gonna sell them to you!
I'm sorry, i really want to stay subbed but one STF a month and new pvp and cosmetic features every 45-60 ain't gonna cut it. I mean am I alone in this thinking, yes i understand the reasonings of coming out early and this is a new game. And seriously this game has the least stuff to do and the worst replay value. As a hardcore MMO'er over the years you can't argue any games at this point in time having this little.
For the love of god why did they have to kill Star Trek for so many of us....

It will have cake.
..and ninjas.
Honestly though I think the notes are on the tribble board.

Well the main features are right up on the front page, I know there are a little bit of tweaks here and some bug fixes there. Even The Cure is not listed so I wonder how long that needs testing before it officially comes out. I mean great PR save by making a big deal out of the Tribble weekend of giving free goodies away. I wonder how much help those little assimilated tribbles will actually help.
I guess I'm gonna have to join the crowd of waiting to come back when my interest can be better captured...

Yes I for one would love to see the update come with more PvE content but oh well I am going to stick with the game for as long as possible.

I believe they might even have ninjas jumping out of a cake.

Yeah here it is for all who haven't seen. It's a really big list of needed fixes but again cosmetics and nothing new. I enjoyed Infected before they kept making it harder, I've since gone in after having the non completion bug and scared to have it happen again. And they said they only get harder from here, I'd have to check out the new vendor in Tribble to see if my hours of time are worth grinding the marks of valor if I do decide to stick it out for another month...

Actually, I think the 45 day patch turned into the things we screwed up and had to fix asap patch. Like putting in a skill cap and having our skill tree turn into something that was pretty useless. The fleet encounters we tried to enable, but they were all broke so we have to go back and fix them patch. I'm sure they are sorry that the only real new content in the patch is one stf episode. PVP maps, fed VS. fed pvp, ship skins, pretty much anything else on the patch notes is just eye candy to hope that people get fooled by its lack of real content into paying for another month. You do have to give Cryptic credit though, the game is very pretty, even if it is the shallowest mmo content wise. If they manage to keep a decent subscriber base it is even possible that the game will in the future flesh out to something worth while. Will be difficult to do now, they seem to have burned a few too many bridges and people are not known to come back to a game that they felt they got taken on the first time.

Knda seems to me (IMOHPO) the patch started out as a "fix some of the problems" thing and has become "never mind, we'll add a bunch of crap that'll create more bugs for us to chase"
Most disappointed in what has been offered so far on Tribble for the Klingons.
Most of the new missions are bugged and don't complete correctly, work correctlt, etc.
Still have broken vendors and loot drops are still mostly commodities, which are useless.

i cant for the love of god finish klingon by just doing the pvp. cuz ... pvp just isnt my thing completely, i need to balance it with some pve or ill go nuts. this patch will do that for me and i rly wanna get my klingon engineer to LT general. so im pretty positive about it, except for them putting on the calender on 18-31 march (meaning it'll come out on 31th of march) and the ... sigh .... c-store content. if cryptic goes the way of paying for things you realy like with real money this game is going to go down the drain for me realy fast.

a respec system that lets me replace horribly spent skill points on my tac admiral. u get a free respec with every rank achieved ----or 1 free for admirals-----or 20k merits
FvF pvp and dont worry klingons when i see u in a queue i queue FvK but when you arent i can atleast pvp.
new fleet actions ds9 and the big dig both working and all fleet actions now scale to your level. starbase 24 was my favorite and now it drops level appropriate loot absolute win.
SHIELD TOGGLE----this was huge for me no more ugly rings around my ship this is an ABSOLUTE great addition. thank you cryptic.
the realization of my glass cannon -----escorts dps, die ez.........cruisers much more tanklike-----sci officers lol still a pain in my butt
pvp has changed some ---new map shanty town is very well done, random maps on the queue ground and space makes for a more ooh feel.
off duty outfits--------more customization for your toon always a plus and they can add so much to this in the future its definitly a great peak at what is coming.
seems like a lot of people were having a great time with the STF the cure with the devs last night i spent my time chasing one around in shanty town taking turns kickin his butt and getting mine kicked in the process.
so in just 3 hours on tribble last night i get a new title a new tribble and the hope that everyone and i do mean everyone stays subscribed we need all of you. every person who stays gets to help make this game better. cryptic is listening to us. they are willing to bring this game with our help where it needs to go.
is it perfect now? no but we need you to get it there. so i ask you to stay and join me in being able to say a year from now OMG remember what this game was like at launch ......WE MADE IT LIKE IT IS TODAY .....the players, the devs, and the fans of Star Trek..........

Agreed about not having enough content from the beginning to appease the more active gamers. MMO's are like fine wine and only get better with time. As long as they don't sour beyond drinkability in the early stages.

Part of the content in which we seek.. was not having a cap on the skills. Boy.. glad they put a cap on it... Just think had they done that.. woulda allowed atleast a month of more enjoyment for some. And alot less QQ till that month was over. Which by then.... the 45 day patch of gloom and doom woulda came out. And then kept people content.. for atleast a couple days to a week.
