Power distribution............ am I doing something wrong?

Now - when I distribute power to my weapons - they pack a bigger punch.

When I distribute to defence - I last longer.

When I distribute to my engines - nothing happens.

Am I doing something wrong or can someone enlighten me?

engines makes you go faster. Yes it works. next time you need to run away from a fight, hit engines and evasive maneuvers.

Yep, in fact the speed difference between 25 power and 100 is pretty considerable. Go fast enough, and your enemies get accuracy penalties against shooting you.
