Why add more customization to already customize race? Klingons need more of the love not feds. why is klingons always getting nothing?
Please add more klingon stuff. Thanks.

I agree, but it isn't in the cards. Cryptic could do nothing but work on Klingons for a year and they would still be behind the Feds in content (content = PvP + PvE + customization). They haven't even fixed all the vendors identified as buged during Beta testing.

First they need to fill out the free ship models - 3 per type per tier if we follow the Fed precedent, with mixing and matching. AFAIK, that is only true at T5 so far.

uh why do i want to spend money on ship customisation?, all the rest of my money goes into to instant noodles.

I think the logical answer to this question is ... a lot of that stuff was already in development before the game went live. And so it wasn't as big a stretch to get it out.

I think, building off of the above answer, that Klingon development is on a much later timeline than federation development. So it's going to take longer to get them up to speed. Stuff is coming. Tiny bit by tiny bit.
I really like the K'Tanco, for instance. :)

Yup, the Klingons wil get tiny bit by tiny bit, while the Feds get it by the bucket. The gap between Fed and "the other faction" will only increase.
So why are Klingons paying the same $14.99/month for well less than half the content?

All players pay the $14.99/month for all of the content. Federation and Klingon. Each player can access both faction's content. It is your choice to limit yourself to only one faction's content.
Now as far as the variants go, I think it takes longer for Klingon ships as Klingon players are pickier on what they like. You can't just add a few angles here and there and expect it to fly. It will take some time. They have already moved faster than most companies.

Don't worry, in another month or so a dev will show up and explain how they intend for the klingon faction to be fully fleshed out (again). Personally, I have my hopes up for Christmas. 2012.

Yeah, but 2012 in WHAT TIMELINE? Certainly not this one.

Heh, then you haven't seen the threads about STO model inaccuracies of the Galaxy, Intrepid, etc. Even after Season 1 update, the Galaxy which was supposed to be "fixed" is still inaccurate.
As far as Klingon ships, they are in the same boat as the Romulans, but not as worse off: There's not been that many classes shown in the movies & TV series.
Bird of Prey - Several types shown and of varying sizes
D7 style - Of which the K'T'Inga falls into. The classic TOS style of KDF ships.
Vor'Cha - From TNG onwards; 2nd most commonly shown KDF ship.
Negv'har - Seen here and there, mostly from DS9.
Raptor - From ENT. Didn't watch the show.
That's it, really. Few types of Klingon warships have been shown on the TV or Movies. Cryptic would probably have to be creative to bring some variety.
And the Romulans are even more worse off as far as canon ships shown on the screen.
Bird of Prey - TOS style, and IIRC, the only Romulan ship type shown in the series.
D'Deridex - Introduced via TNG. Most screen-prolific Romulan ship in all Star Trek.
Scimitar - Introduced and last shown in Nemesis. But a Reman warship.
Valdore - Introduced and last shown in Nemesis.

Let's not pretend that this is anything but a business decision. More fed players = more fed content. The klingon experience was always underdeveloped, and will always remain so.

Didn't FASA get a line of Star Trek ship miniaturss approved for their game by all the powers that be?

just wait, rumor in tv land states that since the succes of new latest Star Trek movie, and, can u believe it, this game, people are talking about a new Star Trek series, BUT, not with the Federation as a focal point.
Like I said, it is hear say from forums left and right, but the buzz is getting a bit louder, would love to see some tv series episodes FROM a Klingon perspective, or Rumulan, or Cardassian, with their morals and ways of doing things, interloping in one story thread just from race specific viewpoints.
Federation solely adventures have been done and DONE, time for some fresh perspective, and personally, I really hope the rumors for once are true.
IF it is real, a lot more attention will be given to Klingon ships, classes, details etc, from which then STO can simply refer from.

I think for me personally, I'd like to see skins to suit the major factions that have been enveloped by the Klingon Empire. The Gorn Hegemony ships for instance rightly deserve their own skin, but it would be nice also to see Orion, Nausicaan, or even Lethean craft.

As a Lethean, I must admit that our ships were never shown anywhere, not even a shuttle or something.
But, a good first step would be to make the NPC ships available for the KDF. There are several types of Gorn, Orion and Nausicaan ships in DSEs. They already have some sort of seperation into escort, cruiser, battleship, and if not, they can adapt the BoP system or be science vessels.
They would be just skins without interchangable parts, but it would still be a major improvement of the selection. These ships already have 'all they need' (i.e. battle damage) from a technical point of view. In other words, they are 'there' and wouldn't have to be developed. They wouldn't take away valuable time to work on ridicolous C-Store species, actually I believe it could be done with a simple patch.

Indeed there were many ships that IMO FASA allowed for Klingon Academy and Starfleet Command 2.
To have at least some of them still stick around would be cool.

Nope, the models in KA and the SFC models were completely new from Interplay.
The only connection to another company was the fact that the SFC games used the game mechanics and ship charts from Star Fleet Battles, which is NOT FASA but ADB (Amarillo Design Buerau).
However the ships in SFC looked totally different from the ones in SFB, although names, specs and in-service-dates are the same...well not exactly the same since SFB uses a different timeline and the dates were converted to modern Trek dates.
In any case FASA had nothing to do with any of this...
Oh and to add to the confusion: many models that appeared in SFC also appeared (slightly improved) in KA where they had completely different names, stats and functions.
This was because though Interplay reused the models the entire backstory is completely different since KA is played against the backstory of canon Trek up to Star Trek VI (Sulu in command of the Excelsior, the Praxis explosion and Chang's betrayal are hinted at) while SFC uses the totally different SFB-story about a war between the Feds, Klings etc.

I'd hope it wouldn't go to C-Store but instead added as a regular option first!
Maybe they should start with just giving us the option to fly Orion and Gorn vessels instead of Klingon ships? Sure, that wouldn't allow the "kitbashing" possible with the Federation, but it still gives some variety. And it seems quite a few players are fond of playing Orion or Gorn instead of a Klingon.
That at least should be the easiest thing to do. Unless they find the current models are lacking in detail perhaps?

If the NPC models are lacking of details, they fit perfectly into the KDF. ;)

Warmaker1, your list is pretty much complete, the only Romulan ship you missed is the Science ship.
http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Romulan_science_vessel
It is essentially the scoutship from "the Defector" turned upside down with a different from module to simulate a larger ship.
Oh and of course Cryptic could, if they wanted to, add the Klingon Battlecruiser to the Romulans as well.
They've been in use during the TOS era and of course they might still be in use in the 25th century.
Perhaps Cryptic would be generous enough to give them a slightly warbirdish refit but who knows.
