Dev's
I having been playing about 90% of the game in my Miranda. I know, yes I have taken it to infected, cure and terra dome, all three passed the space battle...I know ! and enjoy playing againist NPC. I have noticed that almost everytime I enter a instance I am up againist RA5 NPC. Can you add some varity to this, Does it always have to be your level. It would make the game play alittle more enjoyable if you added ramdon lower level in instances and didn't have to run up againist RA5 all the time. Again I know there are other ships at higher tiers but I'm happy with my miranda
thanks

First, why would you want to use the Miranda? There aren't enough available weapon, BO, or console slots. To each his own I guess. In any case putting lower level ships in high level areas doesn't make much sense, do you know how easily they can be destroyed? Personally I would hate to see that and consider something like that a huge game flaw. If they NPCs are maybe 5 levels lower that isn't so bad, but I wouldn't expect to go up to a level 1 ship.

It might actually make for a cool option being able to use all your previous ships. Instead of having certain tiers of ships dictate the BO, weapon and console options maybe they could just have your rank dictate that.
So being an RA would allow you the RA ship options regardless of what you decide to fly.
If a player really likes a certain class of ship they should have the option of sticking with it without putting themselves at a disadvantage.
It's something I hadn't really given any thought until now but it really makes sense.

I'm not says every ship,But make it more realistic have a few not every NPC need to be an RA5 mix it up alittle beside there NPC not real players.

I don't know. In my opinion it provides a challenge. I wouldn't want to face off against a much weaker opponent simply because it would be too easy.
However maybe the difficulty of the enemy ships could be based upon the player's ship being used. In that case I wouldn't mind. The enemies can still be RA5 but the difficulty of destroying them would change in order to give the same type of challenge.
For example, if I am using a Tier 3 ship the difficulty of my opponents would be the same as the opponents around levels 30-39 but there actual level would still be equal or around the player's current level.

I loved my heavy escort so much I decided to skip the Defiant when I finally got to Captain. Funny since when I first got the game, the Defiant was the ship I really wanted to try. But was underwhelmed when I finally got it. Felt strange 'advancing' to a smaller ship with less crew.
I am enjoying the little extra challenge in sticking with my old ship.
But I'm just skipping a tier. I couldn't imagine sticking with a Miranda my entire career. I couldn't wait to get rid of it. But pretty impressive you stuck with it OP!

I think what he means people is against a group of npc's have maybe 2 RA5, 3-4 CAPT#, 5-6 CMDR#
ect if he is in a lower tier ship (you know ppl for fun, like the game is ment to be played)

I still don't entirely agree with it. Enemy ships already have a variety of difficulty. For example a bird-of-prey is weaker then a battleship, which makes it easier to destroy. Now take that bird-of-prey and drop its level by 10 and you'll take it out with a few shots, even in a Miranda.

I posted previously that I think rank should dictate the capabilities of a ship and not the tier the ship falls in...so someone could play any class of ship throughout the whole game if they choose and not suffer....and I stand by that opinion.
But if you choose to use a lesser ship with the system as it is you really cant expect the game to revolve around you and have instances change to cater to that decision.

As long as you don't have a defiant behaving exactly like a prometheus. I have no problem with increased stats for lower tier ships in order for them to be able to hold their own against higher level opponents, but we also have to realize that not all ships are made equal. We can't expect a runabout to take on a borg cube and win.

Whoohoo, I'm not the only nutbag who uses his T2 ship in RA missions (see my: "They Said It Couldn't Be Done" post in the science ship forums). Cryptic has said from the very beginning you could use lower tier ships all the way up to endgame (though they didn't recommend it for PvP....but that's all an MMO's about right... ). That said, though, I actually don't mind the difficulty.
Though I would like a "refit" option that would maybe "promote" my BOff stations one rank and give more slots (one or two depending on the ship) for weapons and consoles. I think that would really help in terms of higher level missions being not so difficult for those who choose to use lower tier ships.
