As you know we as Klingons want more ship customization. We haven't heard much back from the devs on the issue so I thought I would add a suggestion.
According to the Apocrypha section on Memory Alpha the Vorcha Attack Cruiser had a forward module. Now, I realize that this is apocrypha but why not make it actual. Why not create different modules for the ship? Create a science module and a tactical module that can be changed out in the ship customization screen.
Just a thought, what does everyone else think?

Not a bad idea. It's definitely something to add variety. And customization. And the KDF is pretty thin on designs, so ... yeah, I can dig it.

Signed. Sounds easy enough, too.

Make it so.

An excellent idea. I think it will add variety to the KDF ships. This modular bow section could have any number of abilities tied to it, including fighter bays.

I'm not at all bothered by the lack of Klingon ship customization.with the Vor'Cha, however, since the forward pod was interchangable depending on the mission, those should be made available and stowed in inventory until needed. barring that, it'ld be a mistake to fit the wings of a B'rel onto a Negh'Var:rolleyes: so, leave Klingon ships alone.

The Nebula Class Ship for one example.... the Science Module Device on top of the Ship could infact be inter changed with other modules, one that I know of was infact a Weapons Module with fore and aft Torpedo Tubes... I think there was even an Medical Evacuation Module with Extra Shuttle Bays.... but that could just be rumors....
http://memory-alpha.org/wiki/Nebula_class
Atop the primary hull was a superstructure which could support a variety of modules, such as the inclusion of a triangular platform, fitted with torpedo launchers, an oval platform, or additional warp nacelles. (TNG: "Redemption II", "The Wounded", "Future Imperfect")
Now as for the Vor'cha Class... she has a Weapons Module on the forward section of the cruiser Apparently with a particularly powerful disruptor beam.... even tho we never get to use this device... another thing with the Module, is the fact that this device weighed alot and was infact de-tachable after use in combat so that the Ship is able to retreat or re-group with the fleet after Hit and run attacks....
However... since we will be getting the Galaxy X Class and she also has a particularly powerful Phaser Cannon, I think its only fair the Same is added to the Vor'Cha Class Cruiser... the Weapons Module on the Front should become usable and added to the T5 - T6 Line of Ships as an option...
As for adding other Modules other than the Weapons Pod, I dont think the Klingons would sacrifice Weapons for Science at any time... its all about how many weapons can we fit on a Klingon ship even if it means sacrifices the comfort to the Crew, as in irradiating Areas of the Ship when weapons are in use which is harmful to the Crew...
