Cryptic please bring back enemy boarding parties and having to replenish your crew by buying them at the starbases. Both of these ideas were great during beta but never put in the game, I know the boarding party was off but just make it to the equivalent of what we use. Please:D

Won't happen, they removed that system and replaced it with the injury system as the death penalty.

You seem to be confused. The crew replenishment system was not a "death penalty", it simply meant your crew didnt auto-recharge like they do now and you had to recruit more crew members from bases after several battles.

I don't see this being added. That would not cater to the newbie players, and people that hate micro-managing.
Hmm maybe if they added it to correspond to the sliders.

personally I like that idea. mostly because I don't remember the crew of any ship reproducing like rabbits. now if they were to put it back in, then they would have to make the crew a lot stronger. ( injured means they could not repair, and you really have to take a beating to have a lot of people killed. ) there is the problem of having to go back to a star base after every few missions. but that can be helped with federation resupply ships flying around. ( it would be just like the other vendor ships, but federation starships. ) these ships would be in the federation sector blocks. ( klingons you would get your version also) and you would come up to them to replace your crew. but they most likely would not be in the other faction's space. ( so you would not see them in klingon space and you would have to comeback to federation space. )
anyway that is just my idea.

If they increased the amount of damage the crew could take then I think this would work fine. Or if your crew would regen to a certain point then after that you would need to buy your crew. Also I think this game was made to easy then it was in beta, the build and the features there were perfect. It was made toward people who didn't feel like doing any work and just being lazy

Players found it annoying and boring to have to keep trudging back to buy more crew - it's a long flight from many places. Cryptic's game design philosophy is to eliminate annoying, boring elements from gameplay.

Actually if they had a base of soorts in every sector, would not be so bad.

I like more realism, so I'm for this. However, they would need to put bases all around so it would be relatively easy to replenish crew. Of course, you could also limit the replenishment depending on the size of the base.
Eg. SB1, Sol, full replenish. Outpost near the Neutral Zone, 30% replenish.

I have to frown on this, there's already is a death penalty in the game. Last thing I want to do is go to a star base after every time I'm incapacitated to recharge my crew. This would put corpse runs in STO and I doubt they'd go that direction anyway.

If you dont like the inconvenience of having to recrew, thats fine. But it has nothing to do with a DP.

I disagree, it would be a death penalty. Check out your crew before you blow up next time, it's probably close to zeroed out. If your crew has to be replenished when this happens, it is a death penalty.

A death penalty is something you ONLY get when you die. This crew thing is something you got from battle, not death. Therefore it is not a death penalty. Also, the current crew injury rate is tuned to the fact that they auto-regenerate. If that were turned off, then the injury rate would obviously be adjusted so that they did not get hurt as easily.

I can't believe a starship crew would be so wimpy that half of them need a sick day after flying within a few kilometers of a warp core breach. :p

If that's your opinion fine, either way I don't see what it would add to the game other than being an annoyance.

That is not an opinion, it is a fact. Something is not a death penalty if it happens BEFORE death, only AFTER.
either way I don't see what it would add to the game other than being an annoyance.
Now THAT is an opinion, and a fine one at that. As I said eaerlier, if you dont like to be inconvenienced, thats perfectly fine. But saying something is a death penalty that happens to you BEFORE you die is simply wrong, not an opinion.

This game does need a touch of realism. And the way they had it in beta you could buy them in increments depending on your ship. Also the crew was tougher then they are now

Redshirts, ALL ABOARD!

On a serious note, I'd like it but it may be confusing to players this far after launch.

I believe it was a hit and a lot of people didn't like that they took it out

No they didn't. It was never fully implemented in beta, closed or open. They set up the framework for it (installing ship's crew recruiting officers in SB1 and Sierra Base), but crew never stopped regenerating at any point, and we never got to even test that mechanic. Then it was brushed under the rug through open beta, headstart, and when launch day arrived and they STILL didn't do anything with it, they just said, "oh, sorry. there's not going to be any DP".
And then they finally relented and gave us the injury system instead. Which is an interesting system, but still not what they'd said we'd have before beta started.

What if they put in troop transports. You can make a request for new crew and a cut scene could appear with a transport warping to you location
