As the topic name implies, should there be damaging effects in space added to the game?? I was in a small discussion here at my college and was wondering if it is relevant to the rest of the players, needed or feasible.
1) with the restructuring of sector space happening, it was wondered if the Suns of solar systems should have a damaging effect in place. this way you fly to close and your ship-shields start taking damage?!
2) We all ready have some effects in place for planetary fly-by's, but would having a fiery and smoky contrail be in place as you enter atmosphere, along with hull damage due to stress and heat?
3) Asteroids in space maps. i know there is quite alot in place, so......
A) reduce the number of asteroids, to the point it doesnt impact the effect of distance covered, so that you can avoid hitting them. asteroid impact has a damage relative to size and ramming speed!
B) have the asteroids more spread out, destructable and collidable.
this way you can make missions in them more challenging and add something more that isnt there and also add more for the Role Players out there.
