Not as in HUGE hallways that make you tiny but as in the length of ships, amount of rooms, floors, etc.
I hope it's not like undersized with a connection in one floor to everything.

i thought they said it would have the needed rooms at first such as captain's quarters, ready room, 10 forward, sick bay, main engineering, and shuttle bay, and later on they will be adding ever more like crew quarters, maybe holodeck, things like that.

I thought they would just be seperate rooms accessible by turbolift, but the whole 'custom setup' thing implies hallways.

some will be on different decks, but yes, you will be going through hallways as well from what i read.

Tarjan posted one of the layouts (though this may be a mission only version):

Why is it that he's Klingon and the map is showing the shipname as USS Dewitt?

Cause that interior is part of a Klingon episode, he is playing a Klingon...boarding a Fed ship named the USS Dewitt. I dont think the interiors seen in that mission are the final player ones though, the one in the episode is probably more of a prototype with less polish.

because it's a klingon mission to board and destroy a vessel (in preparation for an attacks on Mars). :D

Consider that there are only 3 interior floorplans: A large one, a medium one, and a small one. You will be able to use any one of these in any type of ship.
Your floorplan has no correlation to your actual ship size, so you could possibly have a tiny Defiant with a Sovereign football stadium sized bridge and an interior that looks like it should probably be inside a Galaxy class luxury liner.

Or worse yet, a runabout that is bigger on the inside than on the outside. Might have to call it the U.S.S TARDIS.

Now thats ironic.

There are two new Klingon missions that have what appears to be the new ship interiors used as the layout. I say this because the interior designs are similar - and I mean it when I say they look fantastic. I didn't get any good screenshots of the USS DeWitt mission - which is the best I've seen yet, but I did get some pics of the "Second Star to the Right" mission which has the same interior customized for a starbase.
The pics of the interior is posted in this (http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=167283) thread.

You actually go to the shipyards in the mission. I kid you not when I say they look amazing. It is ironic, because Klingons get to go to Mars before Feds do.

Technically Speaking, Runabouts are commissioned Starships, the smallest in service, they shouldnt be in shuttle bays on Starships. Im fairly sure its canon they only be berthed at Starbases.

Well, In ST:Nemesis, the Enterprise-E had the Argo... and the Argo is technically also in the runabout category, I've heard. I think I also vaguely remember that the Ent-D also could store a runabout on board.
But I do agree with you: I find it mighty wierd to see runabouts and not shuttlecraft.

U dont see the arching tunnels and such instead of a square tunnel going into another square?
This is a huge step into the form of ship layout for federation ships as they mostly based on a saucer shape :P
Only thing wrong with that map is that it isent in layers but a lot of half ciricles linking up to other halfs :P
they should be on top of eachother

I think this is a good move. We already purchase runabouts, so hopefully this means I will one day be able to put my runabout in my cruisers hanger.
I note that whether it is Star Trek canon or not, it is most definitely in line with world history. The USS Constitution in Boston, built over 200 years ago, displaced 2200 tons. The Oliver Hazard Perry class frigates of today are nearly twice the size.
The Fletcher class destroyer of WWII, the largest class of destroyers ordered (and were in service in places like Mexico until 2001) could displace as much as 2500 tons. Today the US Navy is building 2 different type of destroyers, the 10000 ton Arleigh Burke class and the 14,500 ton Zumwalt class. In the case of the Zumwalt, destroyers have grown in size by nearly 6x in 50 years.
Military equipment today is usually bigger than it was in a previous era, and much of this comes due to technology improvements. In Star Trek, we are at a time when the Federation has been in a series of wars - and indeed is in a war with the Klingons.
So it is actually more realistic that shuttles would be larger primarily due to the evolution of technology and experience from war - and indeed it is very realistic that full blown runabouts would be used instead of shuttles on ships engaged in war operations.

I've stepped away a couple of times.
made me appreciate the game more every time.
I'm sure I will step away again.
it makes a person look like less of a ranting idiot..... transparent to all to what is actually going on. (( edit: and yes, I HAVE been that ranting idiot before...and stepping away gave me perspective, and saved face as well ))
breath of fresh air is good for all.
