Was a bit "meh". Another filler episode, but it gets worse at the end of the season in Equinox. There haven't been that many good episodes since early season 4. It's been steady downhill from there.
Voyager has way too many time related/temporal paradoxes or episodes completely unrelated to the main plot line.

Now this was a great mini-arc! I remember feeling a little defensive about the idea that Voyager hadn't been the only ship caught out this far in the wilderness. But the Nova's sheer cuteness offset that quickly.
I particularly liked seeing the effect that Captain Ransom's choices had on Janeway, from the obvious "deal with the evolving crisis" effect to the "disgust and personal attack on what it means to be a Starfleet Captain - considering all the sacrifices I have made so far" effect... ^^... and Evil Picardo FTW!

Yes I really liked this 2 part episode and it brought a sense of releaity to the situation both crews were in. I mean really would everyone in starfleet be so up held to their morals that they would be fine with taking 70 years to get home.

In the past the writers used things like the Mirror universe or other alien species to illustrate the darker natures of humanity. "Equinox" was powerful because it was another Starfleet vessel they had to deal with.

I've been watching the remastered TOS First Season DVD set, and am amazed how well it holds up. It's hard to beat episodes like Space Seed, Corbomite Maneuver, Balance of Terror, Errand of Mercy, and The Cage/Menagerie to name a few. Also, although hard core purists might complain, I love the CGI revamp of the ships scenes. They are absolutely beautiful. :)
Next I need to revisit DS9. I never saw the entire series, and sometimes in STO I feel out of touch with that whole Cardassian/Jem Hadar/ Dominion thing. Also, although I've always felt that the Feringi were a bit silly, I suppose they are good for some comic relief. ;)

Have to agree about DS9 and STO, but I kind of think that Starfleet would have a colony or something in the Gamma Quadrant by 2409. Also the Cage I think has to have some of the best writing in any Star Trek series episode, but TNG has some episodes that do compare to it.

Please don't hate me, but... I quite liked the theme song ^_^; at least, before they remixed it season 3 onwards. It just captured the start of their new journey, how they were so far away from this just a hundred years ago, how the vulcans kept holding them back. It was, in my own opinion, perfect for the job.
This would have to be one of my fav episodes too, thier first space encounter and one of the most frightening.

I thought this was the best intro theme of all the Star Trek series. The song made sense because the show was produced in the 2000's and a lot of the writing of the show reflected the style most shows were doing at that time. ( I know most of your older Star Trek fans dislike this, but I know for me sense I grew up watching Voyager and Enterprise as a kid I liked these 2 shows the most).

I like to think the events of the episode actually happened. When she rematerialized for real, her spirit returned to the transporter pad in the past, and since that second shuttle never needed to go down (as far as I remember) the aliens simply never had a chance to get on board the ship.
Although this does mean there's a second timeline with an enterprise about to blow up, hey, there's probably a million of those.

It's interesting to think about "Cogenitor" int he context of the Andorians. They have been said to have four genders.... sort of. Some of the Andorian/Aenar stuff in the game reflects this.
