I dont not know if it is an April Fool's joke or not. I am just looking to see if anyone else has heard anything about this being a possiblilty or not.

I took the risk - and it's legit (well, the link is anyway).
The only problem I see with this story is that they were pointing to the Wondercon 'next weekend' as the official unveiling. Well, that was April... over 4 months now and not a word. Thinking it was a prank.
The last I heard was that they were going to hold off on starting a new series, possibly until Star Trek 2 arrives so they can gauge it's lasting appeal...
The Starfleet Academy concept is a great idea, although I gotta say I'd still prefer a show taking place on another ship exploring the cosmos.

To be honest, I have mixed feelings on this one. I just don't really think the show should take place at just the academy. They need to add some exploration and space traveling in aswell, but i'll beleive it when I see it.

Imagine a new Trek series created by Ravenstein. Looking back at my fan fiction we have giant mice, killer psychics, chaos lizards, and I especially liked the dialogue between the Orion Pirate who became a pirate because he 'liked the hours and travel'.
Soon we will also have a mysterious box of doom to add to the list.
