I know this is a lowbie mission so there was no real point to running it elite, but I got a bug up my butt about it after I zoned in the first time and got my face melted. I decided that, by Kirk, I was going to finish this on elite.

I quit the mission, trained a couple of new skills and went shopping with the resources available to my toon. Another run, this time placing my bo's and choosing my ground with a little more forethought. Not much difference: wftpwned. After the entire away team had a half dozen injuries I zoned out again back and back to Sol.

Now it was serious. I went shopping with my main and sent a purple and blue bo, the best shields and armor for the entire away team, and a kit and second compression bolt pistol. The purple bo was science with AoE expose and superior expose buff. The blue was tactical with superior team exploit buff.

I set one science with medical tricorder and one engineer with shield recharge to passive. The science with the AoE expose got an expose weapon and the tactical was allowed to play with the sniper rifle. I was playing an engineer and it could not have worked better.

The purple bo was landing multiple exposes regularly and we were staying alive. The fast (5 or 6 second) cooldown on the compression bolt pistol had me in a rhythm of select next exposed target/exploit/switch weapon/repeat with a pause to drop a shield generator or recharge occasionally or to reposition so it was a flank exploit. It was nearly an orange disintegration with every shot. I was dropping mobs as fast as I could have reasonably expected. Maybe a tac with an extra lunge or taking some ground traits would have increased the speed a bit, but I think I was chewing through them pretty quickly.

Then the mob respawns started. I respawned and tried 3 times with no pause in between groups for healiing, but I had to face facts that it just wasn't happening. The size of the mobs, respawn timer, and floorplan with the target NPCs off of a main hallway was too much. I faced facts and slid the difficulty back. I was happy that I at least came up with a plan that let me munch elite mobs (although it was klinks with little in the way of support abilities and warriors without shields) but bummed that I got zerged by the respawn timer.

I can't imagine that anybody else cared to make it through this on elite, but if so do tell.

Ground Elite missions aren't Elite.

They are IMPOSSIBLE.

But it seems Cryptic won't change it. Duel Wielding pistol person, will literally even if you have the best of the best armor on, and perfectly skilled. They kill you instantly.

Problem in this game is there really is no such thing as "buffing" so you stand no chance.

There have been so many complaints about this but either:

A) People say "well buddy that's elite"
B) Cryptic comes back with a sarcastic remark.

I wish the DEV's had a ground mission EVENT day on Elite so they can see what we mean, but to no avail.

If they did have a ground event, they would likely not add in those that one-shot kill players and claim that its working fine.
