Dear Trigger Happy Player I get Auto Teamed With,

Hi. How you doing? Glad to finally have a moment to chat with you. Those Breen missions we keep getting grouped up to do sure are fun aren't they? I know we usually don't say word-one to each other. And normally we don't have to. Because we both can read, we both know the mission objectives and we're both relatively ok at pushing lots of buttons.

But, I needed to take a moment of your time to talk to you. In this here public forum. About one of those buttons you keep pushing.

Jam Sensors.

Stop that please! Just stop that right now!

If it's tied to your hotkey, update your hotkeys and keybinds. Please.

Jam Sensors is not to be used properly as part of your alpha-strike button setup.

You are wasting it when you do that. Awhile back, Snix tinkered with the power. It now breaks sooner if you do damage to the target. Based on how much damage you do.

The mechanic at work here? "How much damage you do!"

When you include it in your "alpha strike" ... you know, the powering up of all your buffs, the debuffs you put on the target and then unleash every frontal weapon you possibly can? Yeah, see ... that makes the jam break. So all you're doing is putting it on cooldown.

Also, it's not a very nice power to use on a team, immediately entering a conflict.

I had something annoying happen to me today when you did that. I was auto-teamed and warped into combat. With Breen. On my commander. You were 26 levels higher than me. So were the Breen. Before I even know what I'm doing or fighting, you jam that Breen's sensors. And unleash your alpha strike. The Breen has a couple of seconds of being jammed because your cruiser isn't an escort. So the Breen shoots at me. -26 levels of me. I die in two hits. Your jam is finally broken and the Breen that can't kill you at all, turns his attention back to you.

Thanks for that chief!

Jam Sensors is not a very good call in PVE. It's a horrible call as part of your Alpha Strike tactics.

Stop getting your teammates killed. Stop wasting an entire science slot on a power with limited usefulness. And stop using it as a placebo to enjoy the comforts of global cooldowns!

Knowing is half the battle. And now you know.

Sincerely,
That low level Bolian your poor tactical judgement got killed today for no good reason other than it was probably funny to watch

I don't know... it's kinda nice to have them target someone else... sorry you got teamed with players way over your level... at the least they could have helped you out with some heals...

Well the thrust of the post is more about teaching or informing the people who still keep including it in their alpha strike setup that the power has been changed. And they may want to rethink that.

My anecdote, though completely true, is just there for the entertainment value. After respawning, I sidekicked to the team leader's level and finished the mission with no hassles.

Funny stuff Superchum, sorry your Federation brother got ya killed.

Maybe you should work on your Klingon?

Although you still might run into some of your Federation brothers at the lower tiers that will still do that for ya =).

I see your mistake, you grouped with a federation player.

I was on my fed commander trying to finish up the breen stuff for him because I had just got done doing the daily with my Nausicaan (and doing his Azlesza daily) and remembered "oh yeah, I need to finish this stuff on my alts too or miss out on whatever the super secret end reward is"

;)

Been playing my klingon a lot more these days. My fleet. It's active. Makes a big difference.

Yeah i mean who does that, making the enemy target your team mate who cant take all the heat.
Thats not a team player, i always look out for low lvl players when we team up.Jam sensors is best for breaking tractor beams in my opinions.

Jamming targeting sensors should disable them from targeting anyone. It's a flaw with the game in my opinion. If you wanted my opinion though you would've asked me to fart.,

Yah there's lots of ways to get Feddies killed without being allowed to have open PVP.
