I like my bridge.
I like visiting it and seeing my officers busy at their stations.
Its not very interactive though at the moment.
Sometimes, after I complete a main story mission, I go to my bridge and use "Hail" to hand it in.
Thats about the most interactive I can make it be.

After you get all the main fixes sorted and you get some time, here are some chages, regarding the pop up boxes, that I would like you to consider.


(1) When a player uses "Hail" from the bridge, would it be possible to have the hailed person appear on the ship viewscreen instead of a box. You could put a seperate box on the screen containing the dialogue.
This would give a cool reason to use the "Hail" function from the bridge and give it some more interactive function.

(2) Clicking on the computer on desk in the Captain's ready room could bring up a player's mission log book in maybe a resized screen that looks sort of like your looking at screen from a First Person perspective (not full first person view, just perspective)

(3) Clicking on replicator in mess hall could bring up replicator menu.

(4) when player exits the bridge. Spin camera around character, fade to black, load instance screen.

(5) When "hailing" or "being hailed" in space by npc or command : A pop up box that shows player's character sitting in chair and person on ship viewscreen..a sort of zoomed out over the shoulder camera angle.
Dialogue box could be next or attached to it. This would make it look like a mini cinematic event, but with a function.

(6) When on ground and one of player's Officers contacts them from the ship: Pop up box that shows the officer on the bridge of player ship..so maybe a zoomed out shot, taking in some of player's bridge along with the Officer. Dialogue box next to or attached.

(7) When on ground and away team member speaks to player : Pop up box showing officer speaking to player with current location in background...this done in a similar way to what rpg's do when you talk to a party member like in Dragon Age etc..Dialogue box next to or attached. Again a mini cinematic event with a function.

(8) When in space and Bridge Officer speaks to player : pop up box showing the player on bridge and officer speaking. You could do just a zoomed view of bridge with a camera pan, taking in player and moving to officer that is speaking. Dialogue box next to or attached. Another cool mini cinematic event with a function.

In my humble opinion, I feel that making the pop up boxes add to the immersion, rather than simply being functional, would greatly enhance gameplay.

I don't know how possible or impossible these things would be to implement, due to the current game engine and resources.
They are just suggestions after all, and I hope they can be at least considered along with some of the other great suggestions being put forward.
