1) Working Clickable Chairs - It would be nice if all chairs in the game were clickable to sit in, but I would settle for the ones on the ship interiors to work, especially all the bridge officer chairs and the ones in the ready room.
2) Custom Bridge Crew - Just like we can stand in the ready room and ten-foward and specify which trophies go in which spot, we should be able to sit in our captain's chair and specify which bridge officer, generic, or none is sitting/standing at each station on the bridge. It would also be nice if we could specify which is standing in the sick bay and engineering. Options should be: Existing BOFF, Generic Sci, Generic Tac, Generic Eng, Empty
3) Add Briefing Room to Bridge Interior - The room already exists for several missions, add it to the ship interior for RP'ers. And for heavens sake, make the chairs usable (See item 1 on wishlist)
4) Interaction Emotes/Animations - Basically more emotes and animations for interacting with computer consoles while sitting or standing on the bridge.
5) Macro System - I'm not sure if one exists, but I know I haven't found it if it does. But basically allow us to create macros where we say or emote custom lines of speach and pair it up with a set of animations that we can choose from. It would be nice if we could use the macros for casting abilities as well, but I would be happy with just being able to say/emote custom speech elements with animations.
6) Ship Uniforms - We should be able to create a set of uniforms for male and female ship crew. This set of uniforms should override the generic uniforms seen on crewmembers when walking around the ships, and it would be nice if it would replace the uniforms of the security teams you call down.
7) Visible Weapons - Just like when you equip your armor and kits they show up on your character or you can hide the visual, it would be nice to see your equipped weapons on your person. For example, if I have a pistol equipped, I should see it holstered on my hip. If I have a rifle, assault weapon, bat'leth, lirpa, or sword equipped, I should see it slung across my back with a strap. Visually, I think it seems unpolished to have weapons appearing out of thin air. Of course when I use the weapon, it should appear in my hands and disappear from my hip/back.
What do you all think about these suggestions or which do you have of your own? Replies about "The engine can't support that", "They will never do that", and "I'd rather see them fix the bugs" are moot. This is my wishlist of items that I think could very easily be implemented, as each aspect of it already partially exists in the game.
I also think if they added these features, the RP community will be overwhelmed with joy, and we will start to see all sorts of fan-fiction, player made episodes on youtube, and hours of gameplay where groups of people just interact on the ship interiors. This should be cryptic's dream... players will create hours and hours of their own gameplay content and all cryptic had to do was make it so we could sit in chairs and dress up our crew.

Add more steps to missions - By this, I don't mean add more mobs or more objectives to the missions, I just mean slow down the game play. For example, after you approach a system, instead of warping in and staring in your ship/combat view, try this:
- Approach System
- Load ship interior: Bridge
- Talk with crew in pop-ups as normal, answer hails on view screen, etc
- If mission proceeds with space combat/objectives, load in to ship/combat view and continue
- After space objectives/combat is done, approach ship, planet, station
- Enter bridge view again, continue interactions, dialogue, hails
- Select Away Team
- Travel to transporter room - beam down
- Load ground mission/combat view
- perform ojectives then beam up
- Load ship interior: Transporter room
- Travel to bridge - interact with crew/hails
- Complete mission and warp out
* If mission is being ran as a group, all players should be loaded on to the party leader's ship interior.
I think this would make every mission feel more like an episode. This seems like a lot, but all of the components are already here in the game, these steps would be non-productive towards xp gain, but add much to the Star Trek feel. This would help slow the game down and prevent players from reachin level caps so quickly and extend the length of gameplay without adding tedious, unnecessary mob killing.
Also make it so when you enter or leave ships and stations, that you have to travel to the transporter rooms. I know trek had site to site transporting, maybe even allow some of it, but with a cooldown so players will use transporter room based travel more.

Yeah that would be cool.
I would suggest that you assemble your away team at the transproter room , before beaming down to a planet or an other ship.
I have read in a other thread that it would be great if before engaging into battle, you could talk to your officers about weaknesses fo the enemy (like hitting sci team, after a subnukleunic beam, while fighting the breen).
Little things like this would greatly enhance immersion.
Thank you for reading.

Guys, you konw, this is eactly a wrap up of the revmaped mission "Lost in Space". And what do you know? - All the other incomming revmapped missions will be similar. So, don't worry.
The biggest thing that worries me most is the exporation snooze right now. There are only 3 variable mission designs, scan, kill, scankill. Same with the missionstory design. Totally w-o-w. -.- /irony aka BOOORING!!!

No argument here; this would be a nice touch.

The one we meet diplomats in? Yes.
4) Interaction Emotes/Animations - Basically more emotes and animations for interacting with computer consoles while sitting or standing on the bridge.
Yes to this, too.
5) Macro System - I'm not sure if one exists, but I know I haven't found it if it does. No macros exist and it sounds like they never will. Keybinding multiple slash commands is already in game, though. No reason I can think of why you can't put an emote and a chat command on the same keybind, though I've never tried it myself.
6) Ship Uniforms - We should be able to create a set of uniforms for male and female ship crew. This set of uniforms should override the generic uniforms seen on crewmembers when walking around the ships, and it would be nice if it would replace the uniforms of the security teams you call down.
By happy coincidence this has been mentioned as something the Devs would like to include in the game as a long term goal.
7) Visible Weapons - Just like when you equip your armor and kits they show up on your character or you can hide the visual, it would be nice to see your equipped weapons on your person. I don't see this happening. I don't know of any other MMO that does this, either.
Besides which, I really wouldn't like to see a rifle slung over my character's shoulder during a diplomatic mission. That would really spoil the mood.

Actually world of ******** shows weapons on your hips/back and when you go to use the weapon, they are animated to reach and grab it. As far as it ruining the mood of diplomatic missions, just like your armor and kits, they could add a "hide visual" option on the weapons slots for players who don't want to see them.

Lord of the Rings Online, World of ********, ****, Final Fantasy XI and XIV, Dark Age of Camelot, probably many others I can't think of right now. It's actually a pretty common thing.
I agree though that it should have an option to disable it. Something I would like to see is an option to disable/enable the visuals of stuff like kits and armor automatically depending on where you are. For instance, if you're on your own ship or on ESD or any other "safe" area, the armor and kits (and weapons, in this context) wouldn't show up, but if you beam down to anywhere else that could be unsafe, then it shows up.
Agreed on all the other points in the OP though, especially with the need for console-interacting emotes. It's surprising we don't yet have /e touchscreen or /e type or /e console that makes it look like we're using the myriad equipment we're surrounded with.

Visible guns, well I do agree
I think that this would bring more startrek fans into the game and roleplayers, omg, they are downloading now
I personally think that this will bring a new edge to sto,, nice idea and I hope that they do bring it into the game

If the main argument against having visible weapons is that this would disturb the atmothphere in diplomatic missions (an unbelievable small part of the game), because from the RP-point of view you wouldnt carry weapons in that situatiion, I have an easy solution: DONT CARRY WEAPONS ON DIPLOMATIC MISSIONS. Put them into the inventory. They wouldnt be visible then.
And if someone attacks anyway, you obviously have made a bad decision as a captain. Your problem then.
I might be wrong but I believe
1) Working Clickable Chairs
that came to Trible with the last patch.
Especially those
2) Custom Bridge Crew
6) Ship Uniforms
7) Visible Weapons
Are things I'm waiting for since release. Must-haves in my opinion.
3) Add Briefing Room to Bridge Interior - The room already exists for several missions, add it to the ship interior for RP'ers. And for heavens sake, make the chairs usable (See item 1 on wishlist)
Would be nice too.
Well, I'd have some additional Ideas. The Ideas came up by giving Lord of the Rings Online a small visit.
1. "Automatic emotes": When you type a question (basicly anything ending with a question-mark) into the "Local"-chanel, the characters automaticly react with a fitting emote. I believe that is a very small thing to do, but it would improove the RP-experience, in my opinion, very much.
It wouldnt have to be limited to questions, an fitting emote could come to everything said in the Local-chanel.
Such an emote is already in the game, when i did the 2nd part of the "City on the edge..." mission last time, I rekogniced that when I talked to the "young" B'vat MY Captain intecatet with him while speaking; the lips moved, the hands made gestures, all by himself as long as the dialog was open; dont know why they just use it there....
2. Moods: also from lotr... And dont tell me thats not possible, I've seen that on my own BOs. It would be nice to be able to set a mood via console. We my characters have all the same mood... always. No one seems ever happy, sad, bored, angry... they are always neutral. We seem to be more liveless then the Borg. Would be great if we could change the face expression.
3. Stances : Why do I have to go to the tailor to change the way I stand? Would be nice if that would be able to do that... also via console command. The stance-changing doesnt cost anything at the tailor anyway. And I dont have to go to the tailor or my wardrobe everytime I change the way I stand.

There is one security catalian in ESD I think by the bar or ship yard area I cant recall, that has a showing weapon, this Im sure is a bug, but I wonder if they could make it look less clunky...it would be a very fun thing.

On Point 1) All chairs Clickable. It would be a plus for those who like to have meetings on a fleetmember's shiP.
On Point 2) Nothing like acutally having the freedom to more accurately set your bridge crew on your ship or go nuts and place then any other way you see fit. (winning)
On Point 3) See Point 1)
On Point 4) This would add to emmersion and is more accurately represented on Champions Online, so we know Cryptic can pull this off.
On Point 5) As long as checks and balances con into play to prevent abuses of this, sure.
On Point 6) There is nothing more annoying than when you use Wrath Of Khan or some such uniform on you and your bridge crew but the rest of your crew decides to mutiny on the dress code
On Point 7) If the Borg Gear appears well on the ship Why not weapons? This request is more than reasonable.

Emphatically no to this. Other games have this, and many RPers feel it's much more of a detriment than a benefit, including me. You could be having some kind of serious discussion, and you say the wrong word and all of a sudden you're flapping your arms or doing a stupid dance. So no, I hope they don't add this, ever.

Agreed on both of these. I should be able to set a stance with a simple command instead of having to visit the tailor. And being able to set a mood that affects the expression on our faces would be wonderful.

all these ideas are great, i do remember in the demo going to the transporter room before the away mission, a good place to arm your team with whatever weaopns for the mission, adjust armor...etc They could almost take a page from the original elite force game where you had various rooms for things like going to the armory to get your weapons and armor, perhaps that could also be attached to a holodeck if they plan to make one. This would let your team prepare for whatever holodeck training missions you want.
A big 'trek' thing that could help break up the repetitive kill mobs missions would be more tough decisions that captains need to make. I know Cryptic might get into hot water if they start going into politics but a lot of the episodes delt with moral and ethical issues. Perhaps in the featured series of missions, your decision in one will affect how the later missions play out. That way it wont be quite so linear. The choice to support Obisek or not had a hint of a 'tough choice' Perhaps they can expand on this.
How about a First Officer? You could maybe designate one of your BO's to be one. They might provide mission advice or somthing.
on an 'un trek' note...bring on the funny ship names people :D Who ever has the USS Fur Burger, I laughed my ass off when I saw that. Good stuff man.

I like most of these ideas.
I think showing the weapons while not in combat, would really make a minimal effect on game play.
Along with the custom bridge crew, I would like to see a lot more customization inside the ship as you can with your trophies. I would like to be able to customize your plants, couches, add a dabo table or poker table, add a jukebox, add a DJ, etc.
The ship uniforms could be cool

I agree with all of it, especially the visable weapons and also agree with being able to turn it off or not.
I command a Defiant -R...the Borg engine effects on my ship are hideous, should be scaled down to fit on the nacelle...so yes I disable the effect, even though I like the Impulse effect.

I guess you missunderstood. I'm not speaking off dances or diffrent reactions to diffrent words, i'm just speaking on having a visible reaction to talking the local-chanel... in shape of moving lips and slight gestures (just like that "emote" wich is already in the game at the discribed point), wich would make the characters look more like LIVING beeings.

I agree with all these points.
I think with the ship crew uniform that being able to set a preset uniform on BOFFs would be nice and maybe make it so you can set different uniforms based on sex and/or class. (i may want all my engineers in short skirts and tacticals to be dressed formal.)
Also as for ship visuals as someone else mentioned, I would like to see the change in components inside and (somewhat) outside... If I have a borg engine I would like to see a borg engine in my engine room and maybe a miner visual change outside such as if I equip one type of deflector or another, etc.
