Efficient Saurian trade gone bad

I traded a player 15 million for an efficient tactical saurian. Once it is in the trade window you can no longer see the officers stats. He got 15 million credits and i got a worthless non-efficient saurian. The name of the officer was also different. He claims he put the same officer in the trade window that he showed me with the efficient traits. Also said it must be a "glitch."

My question is this even possible, or has anyone ever heard of this happening. He seemed to be concerned about it, but he got the credits and i got nothing. Somehow i have the felling i got hosed. If you would like to know more on how to avoid this in the future, send me a mail.

I guess you could avoid this by buying only through the exchange, where stats are visible to the moment you press the buy button. It does seem horribly broken though that you can't view item stats from the trade window. Also, if he was really "concerned" about it then he wouldn't have ripped you off in the first place.

Thanks for the responses. To clear things up there is no problem with the trade system other than you can't see an officers stats. Unfortunately from this post i am 1 of 3 victims so far.

I was just made aware of this post, and my name is now being slandered in zone chat @ ESD. I made no bad dealings... and it's funny how all these people are coming out of the wood-works and jumping on the band-wagon about me scamming... I have only made honest dealings, I am a veteran player who has been an upstanding member of this community. I can't believe this is even allowed... I don't know how I made any of these people mad, if indeed I did at all, but for false rumors like this to be slandering my name... that's pathetic... I'm the one always trying to help others, giving gear and EC's away, I'm in a large fleet that takes good care of me, and I have basically all the gear I could care to have, so tell me now, what do I have to gain from scamming people for energy credits?!?? I want this post removed, and I feel the posters who are slandering my name should be at least temp banned for making the community distrust me under false pretenses.

I don't have to get into a word duel with you, I know I am innocent, and I know the GM's can see this as well... I have no idea where all these reports are coming from, and I really don't care as long as they stop. I'm not battling anyone who wishes to call me a scammer, because they simply read someone's post, and decided to side with them, without any proof of any kind to back up the lie... if this was a police matter, they would say there is no evidence to support your accusation, so why is anyone siding with him? I've done nothing at all wrong.

This is precisely the reason why forums have rules talking about people being banned and naming individuals in accusations. While yes, naming names is one of the best defenses against scams and the like. However it only takes one individual angry, or frustrated or simply a troll to toss out a false accusation and you can have a persons name ruined.

I thank you for pointing that out, it seems people are so quick to judge without reason... The forums can be a great place to make people aware, but also a great place for people to vent and slander.

That's sort of a logical falacy. As an individual who is innocent will defend their innocents with as much vigor as an individual who is guilty. It is akin to calling an Orange and Apple because it denies that it is an Apple. Had you been acused of such actions, or I been acused of such actions either of us would be here denying the clains as readily as CJK here. Am I saying he's Innocent? No. Am I saying he's guilty because someone has accused of doing something? No. Words are words, so CJK is Innocent until proven otherwise. Degrading his name and saying he's guilty will do nothing to help the situation, and only serve to make it worse if he is innocent.
