ok i made a forum about this a while ago and got no response, probably because focus was elsewhere, and i expect not to get an answer this time either, but i believe this idea of trait based Abilities would bring new life to the game.

lets start with an example, lets say telekinesis at lvl 1 it does the exact same thing as at level 51, WHY?

i had the idea of advancing these traits by adding new abilities depending on your traits as you level

telekinesis 1- same as in game, 1 target, 1 knock back
telekinesis 2- add in a limited AoE affect, not unlike the Nadion burst on the Type 3 phaser
Telekinesis 3- just like the Remans giant bubble, send all enemies flying backwards.

and you could do this with all the traits, orions Seduce could be advanced to a Massive AoE, call it something fancy, like Dance. Reptilian strength, why not that rock throwing thing, if everyone had cool effects from their traits PvP would be a whole new deal. Efficient captain, why not a huge power burst, Elusive, heck lets go with something like Micro Nebula Creation, where u are the only one affected. Just a few ideas, plz respond plz.

How bout a few examples, i could use any input for ideas.

Physical strength at Lt gives you say a melee attack with big KB, Uppercut maybe
at commander, Spin kick, same thing melee with KB but full circle around you
add one for each rank, maybe a new system

how bout for soldier, Rank 1 activatable is power pack booster for increased energy weapon damage, or perhaps cut the cool down on the secondary fire by half , maybe some remote explosives later.

I could use any ideas you might have to add to a list of possible trait based abilities.

Interesting idea. How about having applicable traits show up in the BOff skill tab, and it only gets better if you put more points into it, with each skill level increasing in cost by 50 pts and, commensurately, increasing the skill in power. To minimize trait abuse, require a certain number of skill points be spent in regular skills before you can rank up a trait (kind of like the skill point requirement to promote your BOffs).

Something like this should be useful but not gamebreaking (but at max level should allow some pretty cool things). Imagine ranking up the Reman BOff's mental burst attack. Interesting indeed...
