It may take awhile. You don't have to sit in the editor. Once it starts publishing, you can hop in-game or logout or whatever. :)

You'll get an in-game mail when it's done, so you'll be able to tell even if you're playing. :)

I had this happen with a couple missions as well. Sometimes it takes 20+ minutes. As noted, you can just go away and play the game without waiting for it to complete; eventually it will complete on its own.

From what I've seen the more maps (or a few heavily object laden maps) will vastly increase the publishing time. It's not at all uncommon to have a mission take 30 minutes or longer to fully Publish; and as stated by Zero above, you don't need to wait in the editor as, since everything is stored server side; the only thing the Editor is doing obce you start a Publish, is reporting progress to the player.

In the early days of teh Foundry beta, it wasn't uncommon to see the server auto log you off for 'inactivity' during a Publish cycle; and the Publish would complete okay.

You'll also receive an in game e-mail from the Foundry when the Publish of your mission is complete and successful. If you don't see that in an hour or so after starting a Publish, then you might want to report a Publishing issue (I don't know if it sends you an e-mail on failure or other Foundry issues as I've yet to have a mission of mine not successfully Publish as yet.)

It was strange, beacose it got stuck at 75% a lot of time, and each time i was getting a mail that said that the mission was publish, but it didnt.. i finally enter to the UGCstarbase chat and thet told me to restart the pc, then it work..

Thanks for the quick respond, and grate work, keep at it.

So after trying to publish my updated mission that took 3-5 ,mins yesterday after 30 mins I get disconnected and have to start again.

This is kinda stupid - if it takes longer that 30 mins to upload why not remove the 30 mins limit while in the foundry.

Not rocket science you know.

Not impressed at all.

what do you mean you have to start again?

once you start publishing you can exit the editor, or play the game or anything. you dont have to sit waiting for it.

I think there is an issue. My mission has been stuck at 75% for more than 40 minutes. I know I could come back later, but I noticed that something needed to be fixed just after I hit publish and am waiting for it to either finish or fail so I can publish the correct.

This is not the first publish of this mission (in fact, it's not the first republish today). All of them have taken 10 minutes at most, not 40+ minutes.

FINALLY! It published. Now to immediately republish it with the fixes.

Your Foundry project Trembler 4 () was successfully published.
Publish duration (minutes): 53
Time queued (minutes): 0

If you start publishing and then notice something awry, you can stop the publish process by clicking Withdraw in the upper right of the Project screen. :)

I've been publishing for over an hour, and had multiple retries beforehand with it being stuck at 75%.... it is still stuck at 75%.... is this common?

Edit: Nevermind, there it goes. It's live now

Does anybody have a reason for this, its very frustrating putting the effort in for nothing :(

Its happening to me as well. I have tried many different options... Force verify, restarting my computer, changing up the mission, duplicating maps and deleting previous... Nothing seems to be working. 75%. Why 75% to everyone? Why not 65? Seems a bit strange.

There's a couple of publishing issues with the Foundry right now it seems, since the "O Double Rewards" patch. The first issue was missions not working right after a publis or re-publish even thhough they worked in the various Foundry test modes.

That issue was finally acknowledged by a Dev (ZeroniusRex) yesaterday (see this post) (http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?p=3520687#post3520687); so what's happening today might be the result of them attempting to correct te various Publishing issues that exist atm.

As to why thy aren't postiing more - hey, if you have nothing new to report after acknowleding probloems exist, it's probably better to be spending your time trying to isolate and fix the issues, then post again.

I too, hope they get all the Foundry Publishing issues resolved soon; but I do think they are working on fixing them.

Yup... I've tried different tests out. Nothing is working properly. Stop trying. This is a definite bug. I wish we could have gotten confirmation of this on this posting.

I tried 9 times to get my mission published today. because it kept getting stuck at 75%. Even tried turning my pc off and restarting and that didnt even work at all. I even logged off on my 9th attempt and went back to check after 5 hours it still was stuck at 75%. This bug has been going on since friday of last week from what I have read here on this post. I would think the Developers would have done some repair to the publishing program by now. But I guess not. How frustrating and annoying. :(

The Foundry Publishing issues should have all been resolved after this morning's (Thurs. 5/5/11) patch. People have been repporting re-publishing missions that were 'broke' or unsuccessful in publishing now work after they re-published again after this morning's Holodeck patch.

If you're still having Foundry Publishing issues, you should open a support ticket (I'd also say update any you might have but with the support ticket display change that went in recently, I don't think that's possible..

There is only one part of the publish process that updates its progress as it works, which is why frequently projects sit at one percentage for an extended period.

If you cancel during that period and restart the publishing again, you're only helping to make the issue worse by taxing the systems further. Just leave the editor while it publishes. You'll get an in-game mail when the publish process ends. :)
