View Full Version : Icon Set for Mission Posters

LordOfPit suggested to create an icon set for mission posters in this thread (http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=193539). I used the chance and created one in the last few days. I hope you like it. :)

Here (http://i.imgur.com/wa1sJ.png) is a preview of the set.
Here (http://s1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff401/STO_Tiuz/Foundry%20icon%20set/) is my photobucket album, which contains both black and white versions of the icons.

The icons are supposed to work as tags for the mission posters, so the players can see with a glance what type of content a mission contains.

If you need a special icon or a vectorized version of an icon, contact me in this thread or via PM in the game. ;)

UPDATE:
Here (http://s1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff401/STO_Tiuz/Foundry%20icon%20set/Multipart%20Missions/) are icons for multipart missions, as requested by Captain_Revo. I made them for missions from two to six parts.

Truly excellent. I'd love to use them. Mind you, I will not make a poster, but a trailer movie. But the icons would be perfect... May I? *makes tribble sounds*

Of course you can use them. Those are supposed to be used in everything you can possibly think of to promote your missions. The posters where just what started the whole thing. :)

May i also suggest something like numbers to suggest what part of the story it is.

maybe just the word 'Part' then the number underneath from, say 1-6?

Thank you very much for your contribution then... I will not forget to mention you in the Machinimas I use them in.

That's a good idea. I'll make sets for missions up to 6 parts, that should be enough for most of us. If anyone needs more, just tell me. :)

Done. I updated the photobucket album (http://s1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff401/STO_Tiuz/Foundry%20icon%20set/). The icons for the mission parts will follow later today.

Thank you in advance!

Some of the best things to come out of the forums since minigames and playable horta.

*I actually like the icons, they're fantastic. I created a rate "K" for... well... to show appreciation of any mission designed for klingons.

Hi Manga,

Are you aware that there is a typo in you sig banner? Just FYI, in case you didn't notice it.

How do you create a poster? I wanted to make one but I dont know how to, can someone tell me how to?I'd start with playing through your mission, then grabbing a few screenshots to work with. Once you've got something interesting going on in a screenshot, you could then work it into a more descriptive image for your mission.

To edit the graphics, you could use Photoshop, GIMP or even simply Paintbrush.

You take a screen shot, then open it up in something like Photoshop. Select a smaller portion of the shot and copy it, then resize to the forum's banner image size. In the control panel for the forum you should be able to attach the image.

I just made another icon: "Story-Driven", as requested by OldLordSkull yesterday after the premiere of Star Trek: Reunion (Which was awesome, go check it out!). You can also translate it as "Wall of Text", "Reading Required" or "This mission will take a few hours if you read all the dialogues". ;)

Get the white version here (http://s1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff401/STO_Tiuz/Foundry%20icon%20set/?action=view&current=story-driven_white.png) and the black version here (http://s1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff401/STO_Tiuz/Foundry%20icon%20set/?action=view&current=story-driven_black.png).

I also updated the album.

If you need a custom icon done, please feel free to ask. :)
