Does anyone know if you can use the newly released Fighters in the C-Store in The Vault mission (the first of the Cloaked Intentions series)?

Yes, but its a whole new ball game if your using cannons, you have to zoom in tight to the fighter to see where your aiming. On the other hand it spins on a dime.

Yes, you can use the fighters in The Vault. I've done so with about five different characters, both Federation and KDF factions. In my opinion they work pretty well, actually. Much better than I expected them to.

Awesome! I just bought one of the fighters and wanted to take it for a spin in a useful way.

But you have to have played through the mission with that character before.

Really? That seems odd. I have played it before with a standard shuttle (named the Incognito :D) so hopefully I'll be alright.

I just replayed the Vault with my RA in a fighter on advanced. It was no problem, but it seemed to take a little longer than the Delta shuttle. I think you're probably better off with a shuttle with the 360 degree beam to handle the scorpion fighters.

You can equip the beam on the fighter, too.

Yes but comparing the Peregrine to the Delta Flyer you lose an officer slot to gain CRF, so to use a beam on the Peregrine is shooting yourself in the foot with lack of an officer skill.

Although using the 360 Deg. turrets makes sense.

No you don't. I played through with a fresh character that has never even seen the vault, and used my fighter to do it.

Replace the torpedo launcher, not the cannons.

Forget beam array...Use a Turret. hehe. Get the 360...and can use rapid fire. That's what I did...works just fine.

Well, if you really want to optimize things around not being able to worry about actually steering the thing, go with a beam array and a turret and then slot a tac BO with beam overload. Of course, I recommend this more for an engineer since otherwise you've got pretty much zero survivability options otherwise.

Personally, though, I don't have much trouble keeping things in my cannon arc and slotted an RCS Accelerator for good measure, so I can get a little more burst out of my rapid fire while having the 360-degree beam overload pop available as well as some consistent damage. Doesn't hurt when you're specced into beams, either.

I do rather well in my fighter...and my main is an engineer....Unless you are talking PvP...I have no personal data on that.
