View Full Version : TOS Connie default bridge?

I'm going to be coming back in-game when season 4 launches. So I'm looking at stuff that's been added since I haven't been able to play. I really want to get the TOS Connie. Pretty sure that's going to happen no matter what. But, I'm on the fence about getting the TOS bridge pack. My head almost exploded when I saw picks of the finished bridge and interior. It looks awesome. But, right now there's not much to do on in the interiors. So I was wondering, what is the default bridge that comes with the TOS Connie? Is the bridge pack worth it?

The default bridge for the TOS Connie is the same as it is for all ships. It is a Miranda styled bridge, pretty much identical to the one you see in the tutorial. (WIth the offset captain's chair)

You can, of course, select any of the alternate bridges that happen to be available to cruisers at that level. Then again, at Tier 1 that's not going to be a large selection.

Short answer, if you want a TOS bridge to match the TOS Connie, you will need to buy it. It's up to you if it's worth the price, I think it's quite nice, personally, both the bridge and then interior corridors (there is an Engineering, Transporter Room, Sick Bay and more, all really close to canon) and it doesn't suffer from everything being oversized like the default stuff. However, since it only really applies to a Tier 1 ship, it's likely to feel useless to you once you get to level 11.

So the TOS bridge can only be used on tier 1 ships? Which would be Miranda, NX, Oberth, and TOS Connie?
I wouldn't be able to use it on the tier 2 Connie?

You can use any bridge on any ship, AFAIK. As long as it's for the correct faction, that is.

When I said "it only really applies to a Tier 1 ship" I meant that it only conceptually matches up with the TOS Connie. No other ship should conceptually have that interior.

That doesn't mean you can't have a Sovereign or a Defiant with a TOS style interior, it just doesn't make any SENSE. :D

Personally, I would use it on the TOS Connie, Tier 2 Constitution refit, the Miranda, Oberth, and Excelsior, both T3 and T5 models. It's a stretch for the TMP era ships, but could be looked at as a "nostalgia" reverse refit.

There's also the possibility others have pointed out, which is that the interior is actually a holodeck. So you can make it look like the TOS interior, and even control the ship from it, but it's still a holodeck. (If you want to take it that far, you can say that you've totally removed the interior of the ship, and it's one big holodeck)

It took me a minute, but I understand what you mean. I don't know if we'll get more interiors, but I hope we do. I'd like an NX bridge and maybe a TMP era bridge.

It would be nice if there were some old TOS style skins (even if just the whiter paint job) for the TMP ships, but I admit, some more and varied bridges would be nice, too.

What I am REALLY hoping for is that the devs go back and redesign all of the existing bridges using the new scale of the TOS bridge. There have been lots of complaints that the bridges are too big, and I would like at least alternatives (maybe a "Small" and "Large" option) to the bridges. And more interiors as well, right now we have one interior for every bridge set but the TOS one. (you can change the "size" of the interior, which changes the corridors between the rooms, but not the rooms themselves) I would like to see TNG style interiors, Voyager style interiors, cramped interiors like you might find on the Defiant, and so on.

However, when you get down to it, what we are really getting are the assets for the Foundry. That's why the TOS sets were developed (for time travel missions) and that's where our interiors (other than the bridges) came from. So hopefully the devs will devote some extra time to alternatives, but we will have to wait and see.

I'd like to see cramped, shorter ceiling interiors. I mostly fly escorts which, at least up through tier 3, should be cramped. The huge ceilings on a small ship seem kinda dumb. I'm hoping we get remastered interiors when they add functionality to them. I'm guessing that's not coming for quite a while though.
