Captain Database down?

Couldn't figure where to put this, so I'll stick it here...
When trying to click on a captain profile it takes me back to the homepage.
Same when I type the link in the address bar.

I've got the same issue. Someone in in-game chat said it was a season 4 problem.

The captains database has been so bugged for awhile now they might finally be getting around to fixing it.. Or it just finally broke and they said meh we'll take it down for now hehe.

Yeah, I was wondering about this as well. "My Characters" is gone from the drop down menu too, I noticed.

I'd planned on using that page to show a coworker some stuff to help entice her into joining me in the game. :(

You mean there was a time when it actually worked properly? Huh, I never noticed. Its had my characters either out of date or not showing up for so long I honestly kind of forgot it even existed.

It would occasionally fall behind, and I don't think they ever updated it to know about the vice admiral rank, but mostly it worked reasonably well. I did notice that it didn't update your costume unless you beamed up to your ship, but thats kind of a nitpick.

And as long as we're nitpicking, the camera distance on the preview was way too close, with a fisheye lens. It was a pretty cool feature, though. I always like it when games have character and stat tracking you can access outside the game.

Sweet Lords of Kobol! You mean they might actually *gasp* clear out the inactive deleted characters that caused a sea of dead links and make the Captain database functional to where it updates normally?

Hallelujah!! I think I made a thread all the way back during Season 2 about the need to fix the captain database and do the housecleaning on it. I sooooooooo hope that is what they are doing right now. *crosses fingers and toes*

Don't know if you noticed but the link's been removed from the drop-down menu on the main site.

We in the 106th Fleet used this alot for verifying characters, fleet memberships, etc... This is an important tool that needs to be fixed and put back up. Yes I noticed its gone from the drop down now...

Given that they haven't said anything more about it, and now the link to the search tool has quietly disappeared from the main page as well, I get the feeling its probably gone for the forseeable future.

I used this feature regularly. It was working well for me before the patch. Sad. :'( I hope it comes back... Any word from Cryptic about this?

Cryptic one of the best features of this game and also one of the most interesting is the opportunity to build your own star trek story. In the data base others could read your captains logs and suplimentals of accolades and missions by eliminating this you have stepped on the toes of RPers I highly recommend you fix it soon befor you loose buisness.

Yes it is. Has outdated or missing data... but it is back. A good start. ;)

It seems fairly up to date on my characters, other than it can't decide if my Tac alt is flying her fleet escort or her delta class shuttle, and of course it still doesn't know about the vice admiral rank.

I see MY Characters, what about other peoples' characters - we used to be able to search for other people....

Will that functionality return ?
