So, in STO we use Tricorder to revive crew. This doesn't make sense. I thought the Medical Tricorder was a diagnostic tool. Shouldn't we be using a Cortical Stimulator for this purpose?

Science officer crouches and places hand on forehead of fallen BO or Captain? Would we want the animation of a communicator badge sized cortical stimulator to appear on the forehead to deliver the restorative jolt ala neural neutralizer maybe?

I always figured I was yelling at the target in a way which would be suited to the Drill Sargent in Full Metal Jacket (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUc62jD-G0o) (NSFW or children!).

but won't that cause your bridge officers to commit suicide in a bathroom after the mission?

There are always more redshirts, and there are no bathrooms in Star Trek.

I wouldn't trust the cortical stimulator. It seems like every time they bust that thing out in the TV show, the character's too far gone and dies. When you're watching the show basically when the doctor yells out for the cortical stimulator you know the character's gonna die. It NEVER works.
