Today at around midnight loud and very crackly versions of sounds from the game (like weapons fire and music) started to play randomly, i was at ESD at the time and switching instances or logging off the game didn't stop it, only exiting the game did that.

Today at around midnight loud and very crackly versions of sounds from the game (like weapons fire and music) started to play randomly, i was at ESD at the time and switching instances or logging off the game didn't stop it, only exiting the game did that.

Next time it starts alt tab out of the game, and play some music on your player.
If it's still crackling in the song you’re playing, it's a pc issue.

I was playing Trek Radio at the time and when quitting the game it stop, but not when I turned off the radio and left the game on, however this might have been a one off thing as after logging off and on STO a couple of times it finally stopped.
