This is disappointing, especially considering the cost of gold subscriptions and the amount of dilithium these ships cost.

Did you mean Vice Admiral? Because the ship tokens at RADM only gave you the same ships that RDML gave you.

To be honest, the removed ship token is, to my mind, not really an issue and very understandable. There are much bigger issues currently on Tribble.

Yep Pay To Win is approaching enjoy your T5 ships while you can before you have to pay to use the ones we even thought were crappy now they seem like treasure.

No, you used to get a ship token at both RA ranks. My character only received one at RA lower half. Considering that 120,000 dilithium is a lot for a ship, I think they should at least keep both tokens in the game.

You should re-check. I have three characters, including a Klingon that I just got from Captiain to LG a week ago in order to get the VA ship token.
On all three of these characters I received a ship token at each promotion, for a total of three Admiral tokens (two rear admiral and one vice admiral).
This seems like another stealth change.

Nope. He means URA (RADM/RDML?). Yes, the plaque only gave you access to the same ships as LRA, but it allowed you to have both ships, instead of now having to purchase the other should you want it. The same way you have to purchase the VA ships should you want them.
So, now Admiral = One Ship unless you want to pay for more. No URA plaque and no VA plaque.
