I don't know about the rest of you, but I have a ton of bridge officers, more than I need, and why in the world would I want to dismiss a veteran bridge officer who's fully trained for a new one with zero experience. Although I do switch them out, depending on the mood I'm in so i have different skills, half of my Boffs are unemployed. Wouldn't it be cool if there was a bridge officer slot on each team mission, that was optional, which would add a bonus to the team if added. I mean come on. Its not like bridge officers can't handle ground missions, they all go on away missions. Wouldn't it be fantastic if there was an option on some missions to add bridge officer support. Let's make it happen!

We've talked about doing this, but there are some complications with the way the two different data structures are set up that would make implementing this...challenging.
Which isn't to say it won't ever happen, but it wouldn't be easy, unfortunately.

Well its cool that you're considering it. I have two spare tactical officers 1 science officer and once engineering officer. I sure would love to put them to work.

What about using DOffs in cinematics?
I realize some come from species for whom no 3D model exists but given that the camera is controlled in cinematics, I think they don't necessarily need to exist in true 3D.

Good to hear this might happen eventually.
