View Full Version : You assigned him to do WHAT?

So I just assigned my Purple Quality Tactical Exocomp to give special instruction in Hand-to-Hand combat at Starfleet Academy.

After laughing about the visual of seeing an Exocomp get frustrated at the cadets for being unable to just replicate a weapon... I started to wonder... what absurd officer/assignment combination have you tried?

I also frequently send my Bartender to trade Latinum for commodities. :D

I like sending my Romulan explosives expert on pilgrimages to P'jem. I also occasionally pack shore leave assignments with nothing but Nausicaans ("Hew mon play dom jot!"). If we ever get Cardassians, mine are going for shore leave on Bajor daily.

It's usually not intentional, but I also realized that when I quell civil unrest on my Federation character, I'm usually using groups formed entirely of KDF races. Seems to me that might make matters worse, since the assignment clearly states the civil unrest is caused by the war.

I'm still looking for something suitably ridiculous to do with my Jem'hadar.

I recently sent two Exocomps, an Automated Personnel Unit, a Romulan, and a Lethean for drinks on the town.

On any assignment where an officer chosen has no impact on the success or failure of the mission will involve me sending whatever wildly inappropriate person on board I can spare. Entertainers on targ hunts, bartenders helping treat illnesses... I had a refugee for a week or so just doing random odd jobs to earn his keep.

I like to send my android and exocomps for drinks on the town, snowball fights, etc. They're my party planning committee.

As soon as I got my El-Aurean bartender from the temporal anomaly, I sent her to pillage an archaeological site.

My two favorites both involved Exocomps.

I sent my Tactical Exocomp to compete in an unsanctioned combat arena. He returns champion standi- err... floating.

The second was a shipboard concert. Two Exocomps and a Systems Engineer. Critical Success. Apparently my crew likes techno. Nss-Nss-Nss-Nss!

I've once send only Rulian Mazans on a drink around the town mission.

I sent a Biologist to reinforce the troops on some war torn planet. The lab rats need to keep in shape too in case we get boarded by Borg, you know!

I do exactly this on regular basis... it just feels like gloriously daft way of cheating.

I'm beginning to think a few of my chefs might be Section 31 given some of their non-chef adventures.

Oops maybe I've just given away the plot of the mission introducing the Enterprise F... she gets nicked on her maiden voyage and you have to help the chef and a scantilly Orion dancing girl to retake it. ;)

I let my Automated Personnel Unit and 2 Exocomps arrange a shipboard concert, their music was only passable, but the effect on crew morale was noticable. But then when I let my rare Orion Entertainers (with all the right traits) do the same thing, it was a disaster! I guess I know what kind of music my crew likes.;)

I'm absolutely loving reading all these wacky combinations.
Cheers! :D

Klink side, my El-Aurian is currently dealing with an aquitted Orion.

As to my tactical excomp, when I couldn't find an unsanctioned arena to put him in, I sent him on a Ushaan duel. He's not quite as good at that but it's funnier.

On the opposite side of the coin, I once sent a full set of Vulcans to Vulcan to meditate, and it resulted in disaster because they started a fight with the other Vulcans...

I routinely send my Jem'hadar duty officer to missions on Bajor. And my tactical exocomp apparently is getting really spiritual lately, with all the vulcan meditation missions I send it on.

These are great, and I've done a few of these myself. My El Aurian Bartender and ExoComps really have been on some amazing adventures.

There's a Jem'hadar DOff out there?Yeah. Two that I know of. In fact, I just completed my Betreka Nebula Renown this morning before work to get my blue Jemy:

Then there's the Betreka Nebula Support that awards the purple Jem (which I don't yet have):

I sent my Jem H'addar doff to Bajor for Trade negotiations because... they are so tactful. I also sent my Andorian DOFF to Pilgrimage at P'Jem just to learn what not to do in orbital bombardments. My Romulan doesn't like being assigned tho to Welcoming Reman dignitaries...
