I want diplomatic immunity :(

I really want to enter Klingon space and explore, but 50,000 DXP is a lot to muster for diplomatic immunity. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone with the power to grant it. I want to know what's over there from the FED perspective.

Unfortunately you also cannot grant diplomatic immunity on yourself. You'll always need someone to cast it on you regardless of your diplomacy level.

But really, if you just holler out on Chat (nicely) there is ALWAYS Somebody who will grant it to you.

My current toon DASH, isn't up to Tier 3 yet.. so I can't give it to you at this time.

I recommend asking in the global channel DOFFJOBS. We doffers often have to make incursions into enemy space to colonize their star clusters ;)

I randomly grant it to people in social zones out of boredom. I've had it granted to me as well for the same reason. Hang out at DS9 or ESD, someone will eventually give it to you.

[EDIT] I was wrong about this mission needing diplomatic immunity, it needs the mission descriptions fixed.

You need it to complete one of the Klingon episodes but at that point in the game you have no way of getting it and the mission description doesn't even tell you how to obtain it. In fact it gives the wrong information, it tells you to go to the wrong system.

They should make it so that completing the first part of the mission grants you access to a NPC on say K7 that can grant it to you. They should also remove the travel bonus associated with it and slap it on something like Engineering Tier 3.

How? The only channel choices I see are local and zone. I don't chat much except to coordinate in STF's.

That mission dosen't require you to actually go into Klingon Space (OMEGA LEONIS) to do it...

Wrong. Once you gain the ability, you can enter Klingon please whenever you please. No need to 'cast' it.

I routinely throw it on ships in passing in sector space. Even if they aren't trying to go to OL, the speed boost is useful anywhere (in sector space).

I just wish other people would throw it on me once in awhile, especially my non-VA's that don't have Quantum Slipstream. :(

When you gain the Diplomatic Immunity ability, you also have the required flag to be able to enter Omega Leonis. The Diplomatc Immunity ability allows you to flag others and gives them the (much deprecated) Warp Speed boost.

Any boost is better than nothing. Especially at the beginning. I like to give them to Miranda's parked near me while I'm waiting on DOff assignments to wrap up.

If you can grant it then you don't need anyone to cast it on you. Anyone with the grant power has the ability to enter KDF space.

It's supposed to give a "warp speed bonus" (that was always supposed to be the case) and it does for slower ships. However if you're travelling above the old maximum (which I do with, like, all of my ships) it drops you to that. I imagine this is a bug.

I believe the general thinking behind it giving a speed buff is that it's supposed to allow you to travel a little more directly and less cautiously because you needn't fear running into any potential issues. Sort of a "meta" thing.

Before Driver Coils Captain skill, the only source of extra Warp Speed was the Borg Set Engine. Diplomatic Immunity is a nice boost to have on you at lower level.

Actually, it auto grants itself on you (if you have it) for Feds whenever you enter Omega Leonis. (It may for KDF too whe n they enter Sirus, but I've yet to get Maurading 4 on my KDF character to test if that's the case.)

Marauding Force and Diplomatic Immunity are granted at rank three not four.

You "sort of" get it self-cast though. You don't get the speed "bonus" (haha) by unlocking the ability, you do however get the ability to enter enemy sectors.

Because in my excelsior with borg engines i go warp 20 in sector, warp 30 in slipstream normally. When my buddy cast diplo on me i go warp 25 in sector and warp 35 in slipsyream. I have tier 4 diplo btw.

Diplomatic Imunity is a passive skill when you get it you can cast it on firends so they can explore and hit 9.975 warp speed. I have the power and it is fun to cast on random low level characters and watch them speed up faster than the stars.

I figure I never had it and I only tried to go in when someone else granted it on me since I've been Tier 3. I just tested this out right now and I can warp into KDF space no problem. Sorry for the mis-information.

Strange thing about that is, the other day I was able to venture into Klingon space WITHOUT this buff. However I do have diplomacy maxed.

Either it's a bug, or we no longer need another person to cast it on us if we're maxed out on diplomacy.

That's a bummer. I was wondering how I get the skill to work properly.

And, how does this help max out diplomatic experience?
