View Full Version : BUG: Very Rare Bajoran Geologist Thyza Cubyn

Wasn't sure if there's already a thread for Buggy Bajorans, but I didn't see anything on the first three pages, so I'll post it here:
Thyza Cubyn
Very Rare Bajoran Geologist.
Sole Trait: Spiritual.
I apparently have a fairly high-ranking Bajoran scientist who sees the Prophets in rocks. Huzzah.
Anyway, pretty sure that's a bug. I was just going to use him for the Bajoran Officer Exchange, but DOFFJOBS encouraged me to post the bug here to let Heretic know about this sad, broken shell of a Bajoran.

Some other bugged Bajorans with only Spiritual:
-Peede Irmyt (Blue Matter-Antimatter Specialist)
-Tamoosi Esaad (Blue Biochemist)
-Buttyd Zorrac (White Nurse)
-Gorrid Cityd (Purple Development Lab Scientist)

The short answer is, these Bajorans aren't supposed to be getting dropped. They were for a while with Exchange assignments, but that has been fixed. I am wondering if this is a new source we are not aware of, or just a residual from those dark days.
Do you recall where you got this Bajoran?

So, if we still have these bajorans (even from before the fix), why are they still around? Wouldn't the fix have involved updating them in the big doff DB? Or are these bad bajorans still in the DB for some reason?
For example, I have a number of blue and purple civilian bajorans, chefs, bartenders, advisors, whose traits are agressive, resolve and unruly. Which makes them equivalent of a green plus increased disaster chance for most assignments that require those specializations?

Why do we get unruly Bajorans in the exchange, anyway? It's a fail/disaster trait for the mission on our side...
Maybe I'll stick to Cardassians.

Some missions require aggressive and unruly. (Development comes to mind, actually. Some of the 'Drinks on the Town', I think, in particular for unruly.) However, generally, not all members should contain aggressive or unruly. This part points to one of two interpretations: The duty officers which don't have this trait haven't been discovered by you OR the duty officers haven't yet been updated and/or introduced to the system.

No, the fix was to the assignments that were erroneously dropping them. These duty officers should never have existed, so while we weren't going to pull them, fixing them wasn't something that could be easily done.

I thought the Bajorans with just Spiritual were archaic Bajorans who predate the release of the Gamma pack?

I'm, I'm simply saying that the Doff system, uh... finds a way. :D

From one of the Exchange assignments.
Not sure when, exactly, but I'm fairly certain it was before the 23rd of March.

I'd say mine are all holdovers, but the white one is definitely from a GQ Pack that i opened well after the fact.

I think they were supposed to get updated, but missed. The Vorta and JemHadar colonial chain Doffs got updated to have shroud and telekinesis, so they could have (in theory) have been planning on giving the extant Bajorans more traits.

You sir win a co-starring role with either Gina Davis or Will Smith and a stereotypically Jewish father of your choice.

So my single-trait Bajoran is still only spiritual.
Is there any way to get him fixed, or should I toss him at the Bajoran Exchange and hope for a better return?

I received a single traited (teamwork) purple Warp Theorist (Borron) from Trill Asylum this week.

It is not unusual for Trill to have only one trait.

Is this a bug? If so, any chance of him being fixed?
If it's not a bug, I may just toss him at the Bajoran Exchange - though it would suck if I got back a blue or green. :(

They fixed single-trait Caitians in last week's patch, and I'm pretty sure Heretic said he's working on fixing other species.

To clarify, it's not a bug. It is, however, a candidate for retrofitting into the modern era of trait distribution norms.

So should I hang onto him in the hopes this gets... resolved?

He's still here, and still just a rock-worshiping wrinkle-nose.
