I've been playing this game for at least a few months. and I have leveled my share of toons to 50.
I have gotten to know how to gear up in order to survive missions.
Now, recently, on one of my rear admiral toons, I was doing a series of romulan missions (on elite) [and yes I am geared for them], and I've experienced a single mogai take my tactical escort down in one shot with full shields and full hull and power diverted to my shields AND consoles to bolster my shield capacity and hull regen. I have also noticed that in normals, the same shipe have taken my hull down to 75%.
My shields are resilient and very rare. My weapons consist of tetryon dual heavy cannons and turrets as well as two quantum torpedo launchers. Also, I have engineering teams AND hazaes emitters.
My question is this; If I with all the game play I have experienced am still getting 25% knocked out of my hull in a normal mission, how can you possibly expect someone who isn't as well geared to not continually get one shotted in your missions?
If your goal is to make them challenging, the key word is CHALLENGING, not UNPLAYABLE.
If it is a bug or as we players call it "undocumented feature", then by all means PLEASE look into it.
There have been fleet members who are leveling new toons who have had to ask for help because they couldn't do a normal mission alone without continually getting one shotted.
I'm sure you guys are doing your best, but I'm also sure that if things like this go unchecked, then there is going to be a steady stream of frustrated users who simply refuse to play this game any more.
It was bad enough with the stfs and the invisible one shot bug, but now in missions? Come on.
There's a point where it just gets ridiculous and annoying.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and I hope you do something to make the game less aggrivating.
I'm sure you'll agree that real life is stressful enough, so why should a game be.

Ah, High Yield Torps/Torp Spread! This was my problem when fighting Mogai cruisers too, on Elite. Their torpedoes hurt quite a bit. And I was in a carrier! ( actually happens when fighting galor/keldon cruisers as well )

That ship can do a lot of damage if you stay in front of and too close to it. I find that if you avoid being too close you can escape much of that damage from its torps.

And yes I was fully buffed as well, but the 3-4 torpedoes some how RIP through shields haha

Hope this helps you!

My Klingon captain did have some problems with the Mogai Escorts the other day. I fly a BoP with a science officer with particle burst and photonic shock wave. The idea was to get close, blow away the shields and get a heavy torpedoe in.

However I was eaten instead. This is the combat log.
Combat self. 5368 (37545) shield damage dealt to your covariant shield array right.
Combat self. 18670 (57339) kinetic damage (critical) to you with Plasma Torpedo heavy II.

I don't know if if there is a bug. It does happen in a split second though and I wonder if I can produce the same damage numbers at captain level. If you keep a safe distance the Mogai is not a real danger.

The only way I can avoid being 1 shotted is to stay just in firing range.. If I get close what so ever, KABOOM! Sucks being in a Escort and being afraid to get close ( Escorts are designed for close combat right? ), because it's just a matter of time before your 1 shotted... Tack the respawn times on top of that, well it's taken all the fun out of it for me.

My ship can survive a LOT, I sure dont get any 60K hits on the bad guys ( it's very rare if I do ), yet how are the Borg able to do that when I'm at 100% shields and hull, while buffed ( possibly several times during 1 STF )??

I dont mind a challenge, infact I welcome it... But tell me what challenge is there when a well built ship can be 1 shotted, and you cant even return the favor ( cuz your repairing your ship, and waiting for the respawn counter )..... Thats not a challenge, it's a turkey shoot.

BTW, I've had this happen many times just running regular missions.. They might not take me out, but they hit hard enough I have to break combat ( run with my tail in between my legs ).......
