Suggestion for a Tier 4 Yeager-Intrepid Escort

Please don't flame me, but actually consider the merits of my propostal.

First the raider hull will need to have windows added. Second, there should be three pylon options: Upswept foreward and backwards, in addition to downward and foreward.

Now for the Stats:

C-Store cost: 1,200
Hull: 27,000 HP
Crew: 125
Turn Rate: 14 degrees/second
Iniertia: .17
2 device slots
3 Tactical, 3 Science, 2 Engineering consoles
Tactical Officer Slots: 1 Commander, 1 Lt.
Science Officer Slots: 1 Lt. 1 Ensign
Engineering Officer Slot: 1 Lt.


I am not looking for a special "gimick" item. I just want to fly a different kind of ship at Tier 4 than the Defiant. Those who don't like the Yeager-Intrepid varient don't have to buy it or fly it.

Also, the Bellerophon, Discovery, and Cochrane parts would be easy to carry over for this ship.

Having just looked it up on Google, it really looks terrible.

It looks like an Intrepid fell into an Anime Universe than a Star Wars Universe than back into Anime one.

And in each Universe the locals modified it to fit in, until eventually that ridiculous contraption got called a Yeager. It really doesn't look anything like any StarFleet vessel I've ever seen.

Your going to fly a Defiant for 10 levels, if you really hate it take the Intrepid or the Galaxy.

Many people like the Niagra, Freedom, and Challenger classes even though I find them to be hideous. I will not dash their hopes by rejecting them outright. As for the Yeager, consider if the radier boy pylons were upswepted instead of downswept. Aind windows in the secondary hull. Would it not then look more like a standard Federation ship?

What about the ship Stats I proposed?

Because I don't like the Defiant. If I spec for an escort, then I am stuck with it for one full rank. At Tier 5, I have the choice between three. Also, Tier 3 has Two Curisers and two Science ships. Arguably, there is an additional escort, but it is in fact a varient of the standard escort (and an extra power due to the ensign slot being upgraded to Lt.)

Was it not seen until season 6, when the Dominion War was in full swing? Also, it is not that I want to fly an Intrepid like an escort. I just want a different ship than the Defiant. The Yeager varient seemed to fit the bill. I would be satisfied if the New Orleans class was an optional tier 4 ship, but I'm sure there are people who insist that it should be elsewhere.

If you do not like the defiant, stick to the Akira you've been flying up to Captain rank.

The Yeager is just not a great looking ship. Even my Bortas looks better than it.

First, choice of three? Fleet Escort, Advanced Escort (or identical looking MVAE) and the Defiant. Since you don't want the Defiant surely it's a choice of two.

I went through Tier 3 before they had a choice, so I'll give you that they shoved the Excelsior and Nebula into the Ship Trees there but that is an exception not the rule. Trust me I never wanted to fly the Cheyenne Class or any of those goofy looking four Nacelle Cruisers, but I wanted a cruiser so that is what I flew.

I don't see a demand for the Yeager, other than it's removal from many peoples memories. Your probably the only person on these boards who wants to actually fly a Yeager class.

Here's the thing from a logical design point of view, there is no reason to develop a new Tier 4 or lower anything. You get through Tier 4 and you play with Tier 5, how about you just fly the defiant, and get through the levels quick as possible so you can get the Fleet Escort or the AE. And in all seriousness the Defiant while not a traditional Starfleet vessel isn't a bad looking ship. So either make do with the Akira or try the Galaxy for ten levels.

If they are hideous looking kit bashes like the Yeager I'm against them.

I don't see any threads asking for them, nor do I know what they look like. I'd prefer them to do more content, another STF or some special "Elite" only Mission chains that drop a Random MK 12 Weapon or two at the end. But you gotta work for it.

I quite like the Yeager, it's nicer than the Elkins and the Curry at any rate.
