I know era is bored of the game. How many pugs can you stomp then get hate pm's telling you to leave queues. It gets old fast.
Lack of pvp content, lack of true premades (a build that complements each other) not pug that the team happens to be in the same fleet.
The state of pvp just pushed many to different games.

Dunno, I only ever see them in singles or pairs. Maybe they got bored of their premades killing the queues. Sadly, the Pandas haven't quite worked out that if you gank everyone and not queue alone or in pairs, you'll kill PVP too...

They are probably off playing some MMO where more than 8 percent of the population have any form of skill in pvp.

You guys gonna come off shoreleave to form a premade of 5 fed carriers?
You know I have 5 months left on my self imposed retirement from space and come October I am not 100 percent sure it's even gonna be worth leveling a new space toon. I mean isn't the ui lag bad enough? Now quite possibly have pet lag again too. I mean yeah I know pets took several number nerfs and when the target gets killed his pets disappear but still cryptic pets do nothing to promote competitive pvp and skill. All this ship is gonna do is two things.
1. Average rperer: ZOMG I have a ship to put my kitty in. OOOH OOHHHH with these extra ships I can launch maybe I can finally get all those mean pvpers who blew me up in 3 seconds. (Note to self farm scorpion fighters and I can't forget to train my boff's in boarding party 3 and 2)
2. Mr pve hero: Yeah if I load this bad boy on heals and don't share them these rare crafted fighters are gonns do all the killing for me! Watch out boys no more starbase 24 pwnage for me.

some are just for fun, like AVP ($5 at gamestop online) so we had a group of us just wandering around killin each other.

Can't be bothered to log in more than once a week maybe. I'd certainly play in any scheduled premade tourneys or matches, but this game gets progressively worse every patch and gimmick craptic releases. :(

Pug-stomping is certainly getting boring (hence, in part, the new training fleet), and while there are a number of other pre-mades that can give us an interesting fight, we'd like a real challenge. :)

You can always ask Era, Hilbert, Mai Kai in-game to try and set something up. I don't do paperwork :p.

It's nice to play a game that is only PvP. Where the devs listen and are actually some of the best players in the game. They play games with the community regularly and are refreshingly competent when it comes to matters of balance.
More Pandas should give SI a shot.

Long answer short, we got bored.
If it wasn't for the fact that I'm so invested in League of Legends I'd definitely try out Stellar Impact

I'm downloading SI now. Jorf says it's easy to learn but hard to master. I'm hoping I can make it a nice hobby. I don't ever intend to invest myself into a game, the way I did with STO, ever again. When it launched, it had the potential to fulfill all my Trek needs, now, well now it makes a joke out of Trek and Trek principles (been like that for a while, but the camaraderie of PvP kept me coming back). Since I can no longer use my preferred ships/toons, even that is beginning to fall short of getting me to log back in. 3 matches in a cruiser and I never want to see a spacebar again.

If you play a lot of LoL you'll find SI right up your alley and you'll have no trouble at all learning it. I know a lot of people who play both. Variety is good :D

Okay Jorf, I'll be on SI between 8 and 9 tonight. Have to run some errands first. I'll look for you when I log in, and hang out on vent for a while to see if you are around.
I wonder if using STO forums, to plan playtime in another game, sends any kind of message... To me it says, love the people here, but your game has gotten pretty lousy. At least some realism has set in at Cryptic, instead of, "STO PvP is strong, " it is now, "STO PvP is in pretty sad shape." That's something, isn't it? lol

The only MMOs which came close to this were developed by Mythic, not Cryptic; and they aren't around anymore.

I know I should, but at the moment I don't think I have enough time for both, Finals are coming up in 3 days and after that I've got to start a job in another city. The way Matteo described the game makes it pretty similar to League of Legends, I just doubt I have the time to devote to getting good at it. Guild Wars 2 is also coming out in a few months so any effort I spend in SI would be cut short when I drop everything to level my Human Guardian.
...and yes, that's a healing class :D

The original Guild Wars did extremely well in the pvp department before the community collapsed. Between the Monthly Automated Tournaments and the 100% uptime in Hero's Ascent there was plenty of competition. I still remember the 'Glory Days' of Hero's Ascent where Light of Deliverance was the only thing keeping your team alive, if it got diverted or distracted your team was dead :p
