..i dont have the answer. ive been Gold since day 1 and what do i get. not much 400 CPs and respcs for new characters. I LOVE STO and dont want to hate on the game but i find it harder and harder every month to justify being gold and paying £10. What could Cryptic give you to either keep you Gold or make you go Gold...any ideas ?

if cryptic made getting stuff off the c-store either free or less for Gold members thats one way. Gold members are already paying for the game they shouldnt have to pay to unlock ships and costumes.

Well, as I see it... the $15 it costs me a month to sub to this game (well... effectively...) basically pays my ticket to skip the Dilithium Grind.

When I logged on last night, Dilithium was priced at about 305 per unit. With a 400CP stipend, I can buy up around 122,000 Refined Dilithium, which is enough to more or less outfit any ship I want with full Mk XI Very Rare weapons.

Not an entirely bad deal, if you have the cash spare.

Well....

$12.50 = 1000 Cpoints = 304,000 and I save $2.50 a month. So for the best ROI of a C-point to dilitium conversion, you are better being silver.

IMO, the only reason to keep up a gold or LT sub is if you want the vet rewards (if running around with a monkey is worth $300).

I was considering a LT sub, but NOT with the "lockbox" game model they have now.

I feel the same way. In fact I think 'Lifers' should get to be Admirals from the jump and get EVERYTHING free.

I feel bad for some of you who have sunk a ton of money into this game. I mean I do love playing it. I average 5 hours a day, mostly DSE's.

Further more Lifer's should get to be any ship in the game, not just limited to FED or IKS ships.

I would like to see a unlimited dil refine, and maybe something special like double dil earnings or half price off c-store consumables / visuals. Ships I think we should pay the same for!

I would not like to make a difference between gold and life members as that is not fair. I paid $299.00 for my life sub, but I got that as I hate monthly subscriptions so I got that from day 1. So the lifers super duper awesome benefit is never paying for a sub again.

I am a gold member and I do not have the answer too.
Except veteran rewards, I do not see ant reason... the 400 Cpoint per month and all the other things aren't enough because you can buy all of them from the cstore (except for playable borg character) saving your money.

I just became a gold member after playing as a silver since the launch of f2p. I am happy with my new perks and think its money well spent on the whole. I may not maintain the membership permanently as most of the stuff I got is persistent, but that's a little extra cash for Cryptic and some extra goodies for me. Depending upon what happens with the game in the future (I am more or less happy on the whole but do have a few significant issues with STO) I may even become a lifer down the road.

Well I certainly feel like I'm the monkey for taking out the lifetime. To be fair I've had a good run with my lifetime, but These last couple of months I do feel like shouldn't have coughed up the cash.

I can only imagine how someone who brought the lifetime a short while ago must feel!

you can always pay one month when u are actively lvling a new char or 2, that way u have the bank & inventory slots, apart from that thank you but no, thank you (792 days veteran, now silver here)

I sub monthly...I have no problem parting with the $14.99/mo. to support STO. I do agree however, that along with not having to do the Dil grind and the stipend there should be a little more incentive for subbing players to STAY subbed (even more for lifers willing to shell out $300), but generally I'm satisfied.

I've played MMORPGs where A LOT less was offered to the paying player base than STO.

I see a lot rips on lifers the fact is a lot of lifers bought lifetimes during beta for $240.00.

Broken even 16 months later thats a bit before STO went to free to play.

Just let us (gold and lifers) get rid of the dilithium required for crafting and additional ship purchases (beyond the free one in each tier, make it EC again). We were told that gold members would not see much of a change when the game went F2P, cryptic could try to make that statement a little less inaccurate with that. If you did that, I think most of us could accept the increase in c-store prices, removal of respecs through merits, the lock-box sillyness, and the rest of the changes that we weren't supposed to have as paying members.

Just a thought.

BTW the veteran respecs are nice on paper but you use respecs to tweak your build. If you spent 6 or 7 respecs tweaking your build on the toon you had from day 1 then have the entire skill tree revamped, it makes those previously earned and used tokes completely wasted. I think the 1 respec you gave with the tree revamp isn't quite enough to compensate. That change basically invalidated all my other respec token uses. I think we should get a few more of those back so we can retweak.

I'd get a lifetime sub if I could play as a Borg Cube in PVP! OMG I-WIN!!!! Especially if you got some of the Borg Special Abilities. Like that shield drain thing, and the HY Torp. OMG... everyone would just leave the match. Imagine.... you join an PUG match and two cubes show up on the other team. WTF RUN!!!! :D

I would never go LTS at this point in the game. Heck even monthly subs are a waste, the game runs on lockboxes and keys now.. lifers/subs are nothing really.

After coming back after quite a while i resubbed for 3 months and levelled up 5 characters to 50, my sub just lapsed and i bought the EC upgrade.
For me there is no point in carrying on my sub, the stipend is not worth it, nor is the Veteran rewards imo so unless something changes with gold membership i am going to spend £8 each month on buying c-points instead of having a sub, while i was subbed i did not buy points so im just trading 1 "sub" which is not worth it to me for a better one with more c-points

Unless you're already an LTS in STO; I can see no real reason to "go Gold" or pay any sort of ubscription fee; as the perks (IMO) don't justify the $15.00 a month cost. If you really do enjoy the game; you'd get more just buying $15.00 worth of CP a month and buying things for your account piecemeal.

I think that's the general sentiment most have. The matrix of feature deltas between LTS and gold is negligible. Between gold and silver is just as trivial. One could argue that they could save the $15/mo on the subscription and just put it into C-Store points instead for items they want and get a better return on items.

Imagine just throwing your $15/mo into C-Store points instead of a monthly subscription. Same money, but benefits tailored to your interests. And, at any time, you could stop doing that if you didn't feel like spending another penny but not lose account access or privileges.

You guys are still discussing this? I thought its obvious that its completely pointless today to be a gold member and especially a lifer. I feel sorry for people who paid to be lifer especially recently after STO went F2P. It would be similar if you'd just give that 300$ to a total stranger and then forget about it. Whatever excuses there are for being gold member or especially lifer today in STO they are just that - excuses. And people who use those excuses to pay for STO probably can't see the whole picture of what they are doing. But then again its their money to waste. I think it would be actually more sense to buy items from C-Store instead of wasting money on Gold or especially Life Subscription.

Personally I think GOLD could have say 16,000 Dilithium refinement, and lifetime 32,000 refinement, or maybe no refinement limit on lifetime with the adjustment of a lower Cstore Stipend, We are going to buy Cpoints regardless.. we know how to work the dil exchange across our multiple characters as it is, and STILL buy Cpoints. This only benefits you Cryptic with more continious Income to help stablize your personal Income.
I do like the Costumes unlocked and exclusive costums idea.
I Also think A Lifetime purchaser should have all the Veteran rewards Opened at time of purchase. We're lifetime We are going to get it anyway...
Gold Member Fleet Founders Could get more Exclusive Customization to the Fleet tabs and options.
Lifetime members Able to customize Even further and Set its Costumes with Outfits purchased from the C-Store. Maybe a few exclusive customization options for fleet emblems and/or the ability to Upload a Custom made Fleet Icon (pending Cryptic Approval of picture, other games have it!)
Lifetimers have Access to upcoming content even earlier on the Tribble Server to beta test. Gold members get that access after 400 days Continious Subscription (killed off if they kill the sub)
XMPP Chat finally fully Works for its subscribers to where we can Consistantly Talk to our channels/fleets.
How about Gold/Lifetime have prioritorized Support. Our Tickets get priority handling compared to silvers. Much like other services offer, if you want the tech support and ya want it quick, ya pay for it. Works well for other companies.

I am all for changes to the subs, There have been mentions it is going to happen in a decent way. I am NOT for a Pay To Win change to the Sub. Tho nothing in this game is yet P2W Everything has a counter for the most part to it. But Exclusives to members who Sware there cash to the future success of this game I believe in.

i will take a look but I still feel Cryptic is not listening or is plain ignoring the complaints. I mean why bother having a feed back section if to not have some rep say "ok thank you for the feed back" ? We get no aklowedgement from cryptic unless you violate the rules some how. My sig was taken down because it was to big. Really? Then how did it get allowed in the first place? So you mean to tell me you care more about the size of my Sig then all of these problems?
