In the donwload section is written that you first get the most recent drivers..

But in CB all driver higher then 190.62 causes stuttering in Groundmission/startbase with Nvidia.

I dont know if this problem is clear with OB client..CO Engine have the same probs..

Cryptic Support advise to roll back the 195 drivers, BUT Is this solved in OB now??

Lets see tommorow. In case of stuttering on ground you know what to do when you use nvidia.

i have on my Geforce 9400 GT the 195.62 driver and this works wonderfully.
No jerk, no stutter.

Ok. but there was a large amount in CB who had this stutter.

Perhaps not all users/cards have this with 195.

I use 195.62 and had no issues with Win 7 64. Card is a GTX 285.

As far as I am aware, much of these driver issues were fixed or at least improved upon. I'd go with what they recommend, the devs should know what works best. When I have had stuttering in CBT, switching off Anti-Aliasing fixed it completely without any real detraction from the graphical quality :)

i played with the 195 also i had no problems myself but i did roll my drivers back just to see if i got any better fps and general performance and i did notice a difference. i could pritty much boost the settings up to max with only couple things turned down lil bit to get the same fps and proformance i was gettin when i had 195. we will see how it does in OB i doubt it will be resolved though.

I have an NVIDIA 275 and I had huge lag and stuttering issues until I rolled back to the august drivers...and it still does weird things, like ill be moving forward and I will move back by an inch or two on screen...and everything seems to shimmer when I move as well.

Oh great! Now I'm not sure if I should "roll-back" to the 190s, or "upgrade" to the 195s ... :p

I was playing on a rig with dual 275s in SLI, and the 191.07 WHQL drivers in Closed Beta. The only issues I had were at the star dock. Otherwise, either Space or Away missions were perfectly smooth.

Now I've decided to try playing on an alternate system. It has 64-bit Windows 7 and a single GTX260. But I still have the 191.07 WHQL drivers on it as well. I suspect that the "stuttering" I experienced was related to SLI. So I'll have no issues in Open Beta.

It is important to note that the stuttering issues are most noticable at high/max detail settings. Playing at lower detail settings, the stuttering may barely be noticable, or not at all.

That being said, I still have hitching and stuttering issues in Champions Online with anything higher than 190.62 drivers (GTX 285), which the devs STILL recommend using to fix this issue. I can only assume STO is the same.

I have spoken to quite a few people that were having the stuttering issue and had no idea the 190.62 drivers fixed it until I told them to use it. Why Cryptic doesn't make this information easily known to Nvidia users is beyond me. At least make this a sticky post.

Thanks Raptor Jesus that I have both nvidia and ati rigs in the house, too lazy to screw over all my other games for the sake of playing STO, just gonna punch it up on the ATI rig:)

on my GeForce 210 the 190.62 and the 195.62 seem to work fine. Any stutter I experience is usually on my 3G modem while playing at work. My 20GB ISP at home has no lag issues.

Has anyone used the 196.21 or the newest 196.34? I am using 190.38 with GeForce 9800 S x2 SLI and I was running smoothly @ 1920x1080 on high settings.

The only difference between the 196.21 and the newer 196.34 is a fix for overclocking. The was a reported issue with overclocking with the 196.21 version. I tried the 191.07, once, and had a HUGE loss of frame rate in **** and Batman Arkum Asylum, so I rolled back to 190.38.
