Any recommendations on how to tweak the options?

Should the game be run on the highest video resolution my system will allow? I run my system at 1920 X 1080. When I went to the options page in the launcher is had the setting at 1280 X 1024

It just has it at all default settings, It really depends on how powerful your computer is, if you think it can handle it, turn up the resolution to max, and change the other settings after you get into game to your liking.

You should try to use the native resolution of your display.

If things get slow, try to change the quality settings.
