Both char selection pads at once

Seems about half the time right before the character selection menu pops up, I see both the Klingon and the Fed character selection pads overlapping each other i.e. both the red and the blue holograms rotating, the space station and the rock or tower or whatever that is overlapping each other's polygons

I didn't notice it until recently, but I've ALWAYS had this happen. I sorta thought it was normal until now.
