Hello Everyone,
Before posting in this thread, if you have not already please follow the below link and read the thread first.

This thread will be utilized for the Community to better assist Cryptic with the reporting and reproduction of Showstopper and Critical issues. Please do not post with minor issues such as typos, minor art missing (weapon doesn’t display, etc). Do on the other hand continue to bug minor issues, this thread is just for severe issues.
In the event you come across either issue type, it is important to check out the threads in the forums and identify if your issue has already been reported on. As well as, if there is a current work around or any issues you should be aware of which would gate further testing.
For example: loading into a map and then being unable to leave.
Please keep posts to Issues only, as we want these threads to be a place for information compilation.
Step 1 – Find a Bug!
Step 2 – How severe is this bug is it a showstopper, critical or minor issue?
Step 3 – Check the forum threads, is it known? If it is known is there a workaround?
Step 4 – Submit your bug in game and post your issue on the thread.
Add in only enough information to clearly convey the issue you have found or are having.
In the event QA checks into your issue, please always include your <character name>@<display name> or the ticket # which is posted in your chat log upon submission.
Step 5 – If you are confused or unsure of anything, go to the IRC #stoqa channel and ask me directly.
If I am in the office I will be present in the IRC, however just be aware I will not 100% be active in the channel. There is much work to get done!
If you ask a question in the channel and do not get a response, please feel free to send me a message directly. I will get back to you once I am able.
Step 6 – Spread the word, let’s get all of you participating and populating this thread with issues to help both Cryptic and all of you.
New threads will be created as necessary and the older threads will have their sticky removed to make way for the new thread.

Symptoms: cannot progress in first mission, stuck in "destroy damaged probes" area when mission log shows you have already warped to the "destroy active probes area". Restarting instance and "defeat me" dont work.
Replication: This happened to me and many others by the server going down whilst either in warp or at the "destroy active probes" area. upon reconnecting find yourself back at the "fix my guns ship" prior to warping to the "destroy damaged probes" area.

Bug: Stuck in loading screen while loading Sol System from the colony. Upwards of 15 minutes of waiting did not resolve issue. Cannot submit bug report in game as I cannot load character in-game and don't see button on Character Selection screen.

Adding to this: for me sometimes a window pops up saying that there's nothing of interest in the system, with the question if I would like to go elsewhere. The option Dismiss is given, nothing else, and the popup disappears after a second or so, making leaving the system impossible.

See if there is a galaxy icon below your minimap that will allow you to leave the system.
Try opening the large map and selecting a system to set a course (probably only works in Sector space).

I read this solution in another thread and it worked for me. I left the map and was able to select another instance to load into. Not sure if this option was there before but it didn't give the list of possible instances. Porting to another instance placed me in the active probe area.
The next problem presented itself though, a showstopper: beaming down to Vega Colony locks up the load screen. I am about to restart the game and try again, but I am not going anywhere for the time being.
EDIT: got a Disconnected from Server message and had to control-alt-delete out of the game. It's now stuck on the retreiving character list screen so I guess I'm out for today ^^

Showstopper
In all cases I tried (on ship in sector space, Sol System, S.S. Azura Instance, ground of Vega Colony and ground at Earth Spacedock) I was unable to spend ANY of my captain's skill points. Bridge Officer points worked fine, but everytime I tried to spend my captain's, there was an error encountered and they were all reset to 0.

Critical Issue
Using an ATI Radeon X4350 graphics card with both the latest and rolled back drivers I am getting extreme flicker on the graphics. various colors get thrown all over the screen, and almost everything is covered by weird blocks of different colors. The UI is fine, but the game world is completely unviewable. I have messed around with graphic options, changed me screen resolution, run the game in safe mode, compatibility mode, windowed, you name it, nothing fixes the issue. It is making the game completely unplayable in space.

Ditto...long wait on Sol load, never resolves. Going to re roll to see if I can progress or work around it.
EDIT: Bahh...rolled a second slot now starter map is full...DOH...ah well...

not really a showstopper but expensive hehe
when you rename your bridge officers at the shop in Sol startbase 1 to what ever you want
then you beam to ur bridge they get reset back to their basic names..

Found out i dident rename them but saved the name for the costumes and tought that was name change...

Bug: Map selection screen to begin game not coming up, auto selects full map
Details: When I select a character, and click play and the "retrieving list of maps" message comes on the scree. For a brief second you see the map selection screen pop up and disappears, and then the game auto selects a full map resulting in "map is not accepting logins because map is full".
Constant bug and has been reported by other players.
No work around.:confused:

I changed my graphics settings to minimal and Sol loaded right up. Try it and see if it works for you.

I have tried numerous times to level up my character and crew members, to no avail. I am accumilating points to spend on the various things, but whenever i click accept or apply it simply will not upgrade any skills. An error message comes onto the screen, "There was an error while trying to rank up your skills" I have not ranked up once yet, and as i cant do so, it is hindering my progress and it is getting increasingly difficult to take further quests due to my rank.
Hopefully their will be a fix to this.

Critical Issue

I am having these issues as well, except that the "weird blocks of different colors" follow me outside the game. I'm running Windows 7 on a ASUS M4A79XTD, with Amd phenom x4 965 and a fully updated BFG Geforce GTX 285 1gig, on a Hp w2338h HD monitor. Also While in game, while i am interacting with any clickables; I experience freezing of my screen. I have found a way around this, which is to Ctrl+Alt+Del into my windows screen then click back into the game. However this only grants a few more minutes until I freeze again.

I would consider this a show stopper issue that happened while doing the USS Azura mission. When changing from space to ground mission you spawn as your ship, while you can move and interact with a few items you can not collect anything or use any of your skills or weapons for that matter. On the reverse side of this when i tried to beam back to space to see if that would solve the issue I spawned in space as my character instead of my ship with similar issues.

Hiya,
I've heard in the chat channels that this affects other people too.
Basically, when I finished the quests to defeat the Borg Sphere and Cube, I warped to Sol. I approached the space ship, clicked on the relevent button to dock...when it loaded, everyone else seemed to have loaded as the humonoid avatar, whilst I had loaded as my ship avatar.
The normal fix for this I would imagine is to log out then back in again. Annoying, after I've logged out, I can't get back in again now...it says invalid username/password (it's DEFINATELY not).
To my mind, this is a pretty big showstopper... ;-)

Showstopper:
Both my friend and I have seperately and together experienced issues after evacuating the crew of the SS Azura. The load for the coming battle results in ~5-7 minutes of being a human body in space before the ship comes back and the game resumes. I don't know if this is server strain based but something like that isn't launch ready.

After continually getting disconnected I was finally able to create a character and get the tutorial done. But now I am unable to play more than 5 minutes without being disconnected from the server. That has been the only showstopper I have seen so far, as I am not able to play until this booting is stopped. I hope you can resolve this swiftly so I can get further into the game. Thanks.

Not exactly sure if its azuze or azure but its the mission where you have to fight off the orion that are attacking a ship. Finished turning of vents on ship and escorted crew to beginning of the level and beam out but twice now ive loaded into space as my character and not in a ship. cant move or do anything. please fix this glitch so i can move on and test the rest of the game.

I have a bug where the 1st charater I made got server dissconnect in the loading screen for an away mission and now I can't log back into him.
Everytime I try to log back on to him my screen freezes a few seconds then becomes all flickery with the load screen stuck in the middle and no bar. Outside edges are a flickery log in screen as well.

I get the same thing. Dialog box asks a question but only lets you click dismiss.

Yep, it was tollerable at first.. but now it's getting to the point where i log in for 2 mins, select my character, get in game, start flying and instantly get disconnected.

When engaging enemy contacts on the sector map I'm brought into the instance and there is nothing there to fight, it says congrats and sends me on my way.

to add to this a bit, it seems you can enter the map, not do anything and it'll be giving you the thank you and send you on your way message.
in my version of it, there are enemies visible in the distance

I'm having the same issue with being unable to level. I'm out of the tutorial and still stuck at Ensign and unable to spend skill points. Not really a showstopper quite yet since the points are still accumulating and the early missions have been made extremely easy...but...will become a showstopper at some point.

I have run into the "Server is full and not accepting logins" error everytime i try to go to a communal area like vector space or the Sol space station.
I have also had in the final mission of the "Patrol Vulcan space" series when you have to talk to Brian Vandersomthing to start the quest, him not show up or be unresponsive to attempts talk to the NPC, beaming up then back down to the planet seems to fix it tho you may have to do it multiple times.
Had the same issue on the Pellme mission to fix the sensor stations the first one not showing or be unresponsive.
I had the skills not sticking problem as well but clicking apply then changing which Boff you are looking at seems to fix it, works for your own skills aswell.
I would also like to add that the space combat is everything i hoped it would be.... its SFC2 on steroids.

Issue: Showstopper
Location: Vega Colony
In the tutorial mission on the vega colony where we need to rescue the colonists from the borg shortly after I speak with the engineer that gives me my kit the game crashes and my computer resets. I have a Gigabyte motherboard, amd Phenom 9850 black, 2GB OCZ Reaper memory and a ATI HD 4670 video card.
It has done this at least 4 or 5 times in a row. I'm wating to log in tomorrow because hopefully this patch/maintenance will clear things up.

I'm still experiencing this as well. My graphics settings are as low as they'll go and it's still not loading.

Showstopper: Cannot rank up skills (#372303)
I went through the tutorial this morning, and after talking to the Admiral, Sulu and everyone else on Sol starbase, I tried to spend my skillpoints to rank up as I had not spent any yet. Each time I tried, I got: "There was an error ranking up your skills."
I logged in this evening after work, and am in the same state. The character (Zeeg@r3v) is stuck at Ensign 2 with 0/1500 skill points spent.

Gamestopper for sure!
I'm not sure if anyone else is experiencing this as it is a new issue for me but past the 'Cryptic" logo and loading screen I get a black screen and a mouse...nothing further...I had no issues before the server went down and the latest patch that was sent over. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
Anyone else experiencing this or have a solution?
Love the game so far for the 10 minutes I've been able to play today, not a complaint, I know we're in Beta :D

I'm having this same problem. Been like that since I got into cb last week. I also get stuck on a loading screen every time I beam up from vega colony but restarting the game fixes that hitch. No amount of restarts can get me into the sol system. :(

Same issue with Delta Volanis Cluster that occurred during CB.
Fatal Error: Failed to load data for map "Maps/Star_Cluster/Space/Commodity/Kfr/Sc_S_Kfr_Comm_Pro_02_002/Sc_S_Kfr_Comm_Pro_02_002.Zone": the crc or version number of the data on disk does not match what the code is expecting.

During trainig mission where you are sent on the planet you are to pick up riffle from the crate and then talk to some officer, if you pick up the riffle then trow it away (i missclicked when was trying to equip it) you cannot finish the quest, nor you cannot pick another rifle from the boxes, nor drop the quest to testart it. You cannot proceed off the training mission.

Bug: Unable to skill up. Ever! On ANY characters!
No matter how many new characters i create, no matter if i relog, restart the game, or re-patch, everytime i click "Accept" in the skill window it just gives me an error.
"Error while trying to skill up".
Pretty much unplayable, and OB rather pointless for me, given that i could only test the tutorial over and over and over.

Minor Bugs.
1. I think this is due to lag. When I beam on a planet or base my character's graphics is my ship for a few seconds and then the correct graphics appear and when I beam back up to my ship, my ship's graphics is my character for a few seconds.
2. When I warp to a map I get the message that the map is not accepting logins because it is full and exits me to the login screen.
TEMP SOLUTION: I have found a work around with this, by pressing"M" opening my map and clicking on "Always let me select which map to join". With this I warp and get the list of instanced maps and select one with low population, say 40 players, and join with no problems.
3. After loging in and while the game loads the map I was last logged in, the graphics of the login screen in the background flash repeatedly until the game logs me in. Not a game breaker but it does hurt my eyes :p
4. Some times when I warp into a map while the map is loading I get a message "The server is not responding". After a few seconds (6-15) this mesasge disapears and the map loads.

I know it has been said but I feel the need to mention it again. Even with all video settings set to their lowest or off, after trying the latest drivers and previous versions, reinstalling the latest directx, I am still getting artifices and texture tears that fill my screen with blocks of color so I can't see anything when I move around or when the screen shakes. I've muddled my way through til vega but don't think continuing in this fashion is practical. I can create characters without an issue but that is all.
I am running Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit, have 3 gigs of ram, 2.6 ghz dual core processor, ATI Radeon HD 4830 512MB GDDR3,

When in Starbase and you choose to customize your ship (is the first one free?) after saving, if you spam the "F" key it will open the customization window again, but the game locks up
Repeatble? Don't know, can't afford to change up the ship again.

Mine is doing the exact thing. I also have Windows 7 64 bit and a Nvidia GTX 260.

Does it happen in other games? It is possible that your video card is whacked and got overheated.

Bug Signifigance: Annyoing.....nigh Showstopper
On 2 seperate missions (the escort mission where you escort the Vulcan ambassador to Prejum, and the USS Valor mission where you collect dilithium crustals in the nebula) I am constantly getting hailed by the other ships over and over again. This is a major annoyance because everytime the hailing screen pops up with the dialog tree my ship comes to a complete stop, and I have to exit out of the dialog. Then about 2 to 5 seconds later I get the same dialog tree. This happens until I complete an objective, but it makes completing that objective nearly impossible because I can't do anythin when the hailing screen pops up.

Bug Significance: not a showstopper, not critical, just annoying
For some reason nearly everytime I beam down and go into a ground combat situation the lag is horrible. Space Combat seems fine, practically no lag what so ever. I did notice that after the server was restarted over the weekend that the lag went away, but when the open beta started on tuesday the lag was back. I hope this helps.

Ground combat has a tendency of crashing the game if I stay around it. If I turn away so that I can no longer see it, I'm fine. If I turn down my settings, I'm fine. But if I go into ground combat and participate fully, Windows will inform me that the GameClient.exe has unexpectedly quit, or I'll get a notification the the ATI drivers have stopped responding. Either way, STO doesn't strictly treat this as a crash, because it doesn't try to re-verify the files or file a report. But it does end the game, and I do have to go back in. For the time being, I believe I've solved this by turning my settings down a bit. (From nearly maxed out, to "Recommended".
In the closed beta I had a similar problem (Possibly only after it was mentioned that ATI cards had some sort of new shadow thing turned on. That's the first time I recognized it). I also had crashes before in space due to the AA issue with Radeon cards. But as of this moment, I'm ONLY have problems with ground combat. Space is fine.
If I'm in the middle of a big fight, it generally happens within 10 seconds at most. If I can remain around the corner and let my BOFFs do all the fighting, I have no issues. If it's only like one enemy, I can generally kill him with no issues. I've bugged this before, but I'm not sure how often I should be bugging it. It happens a lot.

Critical: On the SS Azura mission, beaming down to the ground based portion results in my ship appearing alongside my away team. The ship looks cool, but I don't think I'm supposed to be controlling a mini cruiser on a ground mission.

I think that you can call the stress test on the server a sucess. I have been rubber banding, getting the message server is not responding message, and being my ground avatar in space and space avatar on the ground since I started playing today. In other words its stressed now give it a massage or something to get it to relax.

Major Bug.
After Beaming onto the surface of P'Jem my character has the graphics of my star ship and there is not sight of my away team. After waiting a while the graphics show my character's form. Tried the mission twice and got the same result.
Haven't found a work around for this.

I cannot skill up any characters. I can skill up my BOs, but not myself. Just errors out every time. I even tried a new character and have the exact same issue. It is obviously something with my account. I did not have this issue in CB.

I just had the spaceship bug happen to me on the starbase 24 mission, got a nice screen shot of it too in case you need it. Anyhow just like the others that posted here, I beam down as my ship and then about a minute later I magically turn into my true self. Also I have noticed that while I am suppose to be defending Starbase 24, all the NPCs keep calling it Starbase 13. I also noticed an annoying little bug here where no matter how many times I clicked on an enemy ship to target it, it would immediately untarget it, so I end up flaying around unable to shoot because I can't target anything.

Ok I know you guys are tired of hearing about how people can't get in but it's all we can report on because we can't get to any of the missions because everytime we try we get thrown out of the server. Now the way I look at this is that you guys hired us to do a job and that job is to check out your game and get the word out on how awsome it is and what needs to be improved and what you guys can do to make it better. We can't do our job unless we can get in to check out your game and when we hear nothing back from you guys on the issues we get frustrated.

I changed my graphics settings to minimal and Sol loaded right up. Try it and see if it works for you.
Can you post the settings that you used to get the sol system to load? I have tried just about everything to get it to load and have had no luck

Bug: Unable to skill up. Ever! On ANY characters!
No matter how many new characters i create, no matter if i relog, restart the game, or re-patch, everytime i click "Accept" in the skill window it just gives me an error.
"Error while trying to skill up".
Pretty much unplayable, and OB rather pointless for me, given that i could only test the tutorial over and over and over.

I too am experiencing this same issue. I had completed several missions and was order to meet Adm. Quinn at Starfllet for a promotion but next mission does not load. proceeds about 40% then stops loading and doesn't ever fisish load, so I cannot report in game. Please advise.

Delta Volanis Cluster mission "Planet W275-T"
Mission instructions, communications text, and the planet surface match in being a mission about scanning for decalithium. However, the actual mission milestone info appears to be from a completely different mission, involving "Inspect Medical Supplies" (Inspect Medical Crate, Gather More Supplies, Gather Remaining Supplies).
While it is possible to advance part-way blind, by running around scanning rocks (and eventually fighting some Orion pirates), it seems that the decalithium mission isn't designed to spawn as many objectives as the medical mission, and you can't complete.
ETA: Attempting to abort the mission and beam up locked up the client at the loading screen, (netgraph was still showing light traffic, so not a server disconnect problem). After killing client, restarting (and ending up in the cluster overmap), attempting to Continue W275-T had an *unusually* long delay, and dropped back into a reset version of the mission with the same uncompletable bug.

Missions: Neutral Zone Diplomacy.
Seems like I am encountering bugs at every step of this mission. After being sent to talk to the two commanders at K7, I initiated a conversation with one of them. However, the convo would not progress and I could not close the dialog window either. This was followed by a server disconnect. Afterwards, neither of the commanders appeared as interactable NPCs. After a few attempts, I managed to talk to one of them and was sent to talk to the admiral's office again. That is where I am stuck as every time I approach the door, I am flung backwards to the main hall, or I am disconnected.
I've tried submitting tickets through the in game bug report tool, but it always says connection failed and I get booted to the main login screen.

Description: I am stuck in Sector Space, in the Sirius Sector Block. I am only able to enter the Sol System. I cannot enter any other system, period. If I approach a planetary system, I fly right through it, with no message or option to enter it. Stopping my ship in a planetary cluster causes a "Server not Responding" error message to appear after approximately 5 minutes of waiting; I am then promptly booted to the login screen.
This has been going on since 1400 hours, EST.

Relogging sometimes works, most times it does not. Wasted much of the day yesterday at the loading screen....
edit: lowering the graphics settings as others have suggested definitely helps.

STO shuts my computer off after about 5 minutes in the game, never gotten past the character creation screen. Tried at least 7 times, same result. Somebody else posted in my thread that they have the same problem. Looking forward to having this fixed so I can test this game.

To echo what's been said before, load times are horrendous. Whether it's logging in or loading missions. In fact it seems between each mission, the game just gives up and never loads the next area. Have to end program through TaskManager and restart every time.

When fighting on the first cargo ship was disconnected when the fire fight begins. Then when I reconnected there was an Error could not load character. Only in the cargo ship so far, right at the end of that mission.

The Price of Liberty mission:
I finished the Destroy Active Probes part but i got disconnected,
when i came back i was on the location for the Destroy Damaged Probes part.
On the quest log the next part is to Beam to the Vegas and all previous parts of the quest are ticked
as done like
Destroy Active Probes (2/4)
Destroy Damaged Probes (0/4)
Beam to Vegas System
I tried Unblock, change instance, relog, killed like trillions of Damaged Probes but nothing.
Should i delete my character to play ??? I hope not !

When I log into the character creation screen I get booted back to the logon screen. Earlier in the day it would tell me I had been disconnected, now it just sends me back to the logon. Not sure if this is just the ongoing disconnection problem or something else.

I know its been said before but this lag is crazy... i have an i7 system with 6 gigs of ram and a 9800gx2 on a 10 mb cable line and I still have to put the game on the lowest settings just to get the game to stop jumping every few seconds.

Bug Issue: Lag times were pretty nasty last night for me and my friend. We would be in space and have it jitter us about, shield woudl be down and you would fire photons, to only find a couple of seconds later that you havn't fired them, ground and space movement was tricky as you would move about only to be moved back a few yards later and find you hadn't moved at all.

After defeating the Gorn, I then scanned in the data floating around. I then could not beam down to the surface to complete the mission. There should really be an Ops option on EVERY screen where a mission is. Sometimes you don't want to beam out right away because you want to pick up the data laying around... needless to say it's quite annoying to have to fly to the edge of the map everytime I want to do this. And in this case there should be one after defeating the last Gorn ship so you can BEAM DOWN!

On 2 seperate missions (the escort mission where you escort the Vulcan ambassador to Prejum, and the USS Valor mission where you collect dilithium crustals in the nebula) I am constantly getting hailed by the other ships over and over again. This is a major annoyance because everytime the hailing screen pops up with the dialog tree my ship comes to a complete stop, and I have to exit out of the dialog. Then about 2 to 5 seconds later I get the same dialog tree. This happens until I complete an objective, but it makes completing that objective nearly impossible because I can't do anythin when the hailing screen pops up.

so many posts in here labled as show stoppers that are not. show stopper is something that i'm experiencing where STO powers off my computer every time I log in. Taht's a show stopper. lag on the ground is not a show stopper, not even critical. it's more of an annoyance than anything. It's gotta be hard for the devs to sort through this info when it's not classified correctly. 2 days of having my computer powered down in the character creation screen and never being able to go past that, or the people that can't even get logged in....that's a show stopper people. help the devs out and classify your posts accordingly please.

I am getting a consistent issue where the game crashes every fifteen minutes or so. This has been the case since I began the Open Beta. Location and current activity level seem to not have any bearing on the crash. It has occurred during space combat, on ground missions, in sector space, and while standing around on Earth Spacedock. System specs are below.

Critical Issues:
1) RUBBERBANDING
I have experienced rubberbanding in mmo's before, but NEVER as bad as last night.
This was especially horrible in ground combat missions.
In one of the first missions - the one where you have to shut off 3 plasma leaks, get the injured crew back to your ship, and then beam out, yourself and company, it was extremely critical.
The rubberbanding was so bad and so strong that not only would it yank you and your team back in time, it woud very often physically slam your character into the nearest bulkhead walls to the left or right depending on where you were trying to go. It also seemed to be doing the same thing with team members at times because I would see them stuck in bulkhead walls in a "lie down legs running" posture until I retraced my steps to get them unstuck - but I had to be very careful not to get any others stuck in the same process. :eek:
This rubberbanding is very violent compared to any rubberbanding I have seen in any other game. I know it has to do with firing up a new game on these servers, but wow, it needs some major work.
2) LAG
Lag was the one most guaranteed thing you could experience in this Star Trek world last night. It was omnipresent. When lag was combined with rubberbanding, it made for a nasty dance that I would call "The RubberbandLag" which made characters act like lobotomized three-legged turkeys. :eek:
I know all this has to be primarily server-oriented issues because I never experienced this in CB.
Good luck working on these bugs guys, I know you have your hands full. :)
p.s. space combat looked and felt really good in the missions I ran
Please take the purchase price OFF for altering our BOFF's as it was before so we can experiment with the new costume/character tools.
Please think about lightening up the color of ships. When I look at, for example, the ST TNG Enterprise, it is MUCH brighter and whiter than the duller shades of tarnished pot metal we see with many of the ships in the game now. I tried tinkering with the colors before, but it didn't really seem to change that much, other than the nacelles and saucer locations.

unable to progress in tutorial. after defeating the borg probes, the game crashes when trying to beam down to Vega. this has happened with 3 different characters now. I will momentarily see the screen showing the different instances on Vega and then the game crashes.

During the “diplomatic orders” quest I was not able to escort the person to the P'Jam sector. It would not give me the prompt to enter the system. I talked with other players and some had finished the quest earlier and others have not been able to. Just want to bring this to your attention.

Star Clusters still don't work. You are still getting the CRC wrong version error, when you try to enter an unexplored system. Unfortunately, now the game tries to log me into the system every time I log in, so I am kinda stuck. This problem disappears after some time, and I get deposited back into the Delta Voranis sector.

This pertains to the Starbase 24 maps.
In the second room of Starbase 24 (first one being the one you beam into), there is a large pile of debris. If you jump forward enough, you can eventually get on top of and fall behind it, however there is no way to jump back out. There were ways out of it, but you would have to warp to sector (mission incomplete) or beam back to your ship (mission complete).
Both are options that will get you unstuck, but if you haven't completed the mission, you could find yourself starting over again and may find yourself back outside battling the Klingons again just to get back inside the Starbase.
Also, there isn't enough information to finish the Starbase 24 mission, at least not for me. It says "*Rally Point* Go to Starbase 24" but I don't get anything other than the option to beam back to the Starbase. Perhaps if there was more information it might help.
Edit: Figured the quest out by trial and error.

Same - this is critical, game stopping issue - after doing Borg cubes/spheres in ship, then colony and going warp back to Sol System, got stuck in warp - toon is still there after 9+ hours (its warping to nowhere - kinda like Voyager lol), when I log in its still in warp - I was able to create another toon and start again - it did not free the first one. You cannot make ticket, or do anything, stuck in warp - can only stomp game closed in windows. :(

Same issue with Delta Volanis Cluster that occurred during CB.
Fatal Error: Failed to load data for map "Maps/Star_Cluster/Space/Commodity/Kfr/Sc_S_Kfr_Comm_Pro_02_002/Sc_S_Kfr_Comm_Pro_02_002.Zone": the crc or version number of the data on disk does not match what the code is expecting.
This right here. About 75% of the missions in Delta Volanis end this way for me, with a fatal error and a crash to desktop. Been doing this forever and it's not getting any better. Been sending in all the error reports with full memory dumps and so forth. This make Delta Volanis basically unplayable.

losing your ships equipment, plus no transwarp ability and your shields wont regenerate when u eventually get replacements as well as other systems. Oh and your you crawl around like a snail all the time.

Showstopper: Starbase 24 Indoor Mission

Here is a strange one! I play for a while, all ok, but then (always either soon after or immediately after a respawn) I find I have no keyboard input. Space bar no longer fires all phasers etc. etc. This can happen in space or during away team.
I can use mouse to click icon in task bar and it works but keyboard does nothing and I do mean nothing, which pretty much makes the game unplayable.
But it gets worse, hehe... after quitting the game, when in Windows (Vista) I now cannot enter text into any fields and clicking a desktop icon or taskbar icon makes the properties appear rather than launching the directory (or whatever). I have to reboot the PC to make it all work again (a hard button reboot because even the restart icon is porked).
As this only happens after I exit STO (once STO starts misbehaving, if STO is ok when I quit, so is my PC after I exit) it is clearly STO related. So how is *that* for the nightmare bug of the day? :-D
This started happening yesterday, so presumably the last downtime did something evil that was not there before.
EDIT: and due to the nature of the bug, I could not report it in-game as I cannot type anything when the bug is in effect! :eek:

If I use beam overload with 2 * dual mk II disrupter beams they go off permanently until I die and respawn or zone out and back. The icons count down as they should for the temporary offline, but simply do not come back on. I dont have the issue if I use single beams or dual mk I beams or phasers (havent tried dual mk II phasers tho)
After further testing, this happens with any kind of disruptors equipped as a front pair on the ship. Equipping a phaser / disruptor combo works ok

I had a show stopper last night. A friend and I formed a team last night after the tutorial to do missions together. The frst mission we tried was the SSAzurua (apologies for spelling). We got to the point where we are beaming back to our ships after saving the crew from Orion thugs. The load screen just stayed at the same point and did not progress further. We had to force the game to close and relaunch.

same on my first toon - it spent a whole day stuck on the Sol System loading screen - deleted and recreated that toon, got through tutorial to promotion, docked at earth station. Then, when beaming back to ship to start new quests, it flashed right back to Sol System loading screen and I am hopelessly stuck there again. I left it on all night, thinking maybe it was just incredibly slow loading - no dice, it was still stuck there in the morning.
Destroyed all Borg Probes, Clicked button to Beam to Vega and now stuck on loading screen. Force Stopped program, logged back in, stuck at same place.

Hmmm I might be doing something wrong, I'm not sure but when I get to the log in screen and enter my password - I go to the launcher. After I press the engage button the launcher goes away and nothing happens. If it needs to download a patch it will but beyond that when I try to enter the game I can't.

i cannot get thru the mission where you beam down to starbase 24 ever since the public beta. I made it through during the closed beta but something has been changed since then and i get some kind of crash every time i try and complete that mission this time around. Its not even always at the same spot. Basically the game goes from runnin perfect then stutters a bit and crashes.

Similar issue with the lag. "Server not responding", rubberbanding large distances, or flat out stuck in place unable to move or interact with the environment. Havent been able to experience much of the OB due to this issue.
I have ran a command prompt with the ping command running to see if its an issue on my end, When rubberbanding occurs there is 1 or more packets lost, my character then is either frozen or allowed to continue moving before getting ported back to his last location 5-30 seconds later. This happens about 2-15 minutes into my play time. In some cases its quicker to log out and back in.

This right here. About 75% of the missions in Delta Volanis end this way for me, with a fatal error and a crash to desktop. Been doing this forever and it's not getting any better. Been sending in all the error reports with full memory dumps and so forth. This make Delta Volanis basically unplayable.
This is most often the result of having old Closed Beta data still on your system. Unfortunately, even a "Force Verify" doesn't clear this up; the only know sure fix is to uninstall the game, and then reinstall from the current ( ST.0.20100108a.0 ) full installer version. Copying over all the .pigg files from the current version *may* work. See this thread:

Yes, this means that at the moment most people stuck with this problem will need to re-download the whole game, unless they are lucky enough to have a friend with a current installer or some such. It *shouldn't* re-occur, as it is a result of old Closed Beta files not being properly updated; but to prevent such problems in the future, it would be a really good idea if Cryptic improved their Force Verify to actually check and repair *everything*.

Bug Significance: Showstopper
Bug: Any area that is indoors, will crash me to Desktop after about 5-10 minutes. This causes me not being to finish any missions that have indoor areas. The game just seems to freeze up and the Cryptic error windows pops up.

Hello,
I am reporting a showstopper for the Hide and Seek mission. Everytime you enter the area for the first time you get hailed for the captain of the vessel you are trying to save constantly. Clicking the exit button does work but then it pops up again like you are hailing them. This hinders your progress and makes it very hard to do anything for about 5 minutes.

Here is a strange one! I play for a while, all ok, but then (always either soon after or immediately after a respawn) I find I have no keyboard input. Space bar no longer fires all phasers etc. etc. This can happen in space or during away team.
I can use mouse to click icon in task bar and it works but keyboard does nothing and I do mean nothing, which pretty much makes the game unplayable.
But it gets worse, hehe... after quitting the game, when in Windows (Vista) I now cannot enter text into any fields and clicking a desktop icon or taskbar icon makes the properties appear rather than launching the directory (or whatever). I have to reboot the PC to make it all work again (a hard button reboot because even the restart icon is porked).
As this only happens after I exit STO (once STO starts misbehaving, if STO is ok when I quit, so is my PC after I exit) it is clearly STO related. So how is *that* for the nightmare bug of the day? :-D
This started happening yesterday, so presumably the last downtime did something evil that was not there before.
EDIT: and due to the nature of the bug, I could not report it in-game as I cannot type anything when the bug is in effect! :eek:
I had this happen to me once. Try pressing the special keys on your keyboard (Ctrl, Alt, etc) and see if that fixes it. That's what did it for me. Somehow my keyboard thought I was holding down one of those keys.

Showstopper bug, can't complete the mission.
I have the 10 provisions, I talk to the ground contact and choose Deliver Supplies then nothing happens. The mission doesn't complete and I still have the Provisions in Inventory. There's no way to re-initiate the Dialogue either.

I have the same problem as a few previous posters with Win 7 x64, the game will randomly crash even durring character creation. When it happens the video goes out completely and the monitor goes into standby. The only fix is to power off my pc and turn it back on. The crashes are happening often, maybe 5-10 minutes from login and I have not logged in without a crash.

It is not just this system but about evey system in general as of today. I am not sure if it is directly associated with server stablity or not but it was not happening this often yesterday. As of today, it has happened to me and a friend at least half a dozen times or more. Starts out with long load time and then usually ends with a timeout error game message. Most of the times I end up back at the login screen. Next time I try it it may or may not work. This IS a showstopper as it makes everyone really want to not log on to go through it again.

For 4 or 5 missions in a row now my bridge officers haven't been showing up when I beam down to something. This pretty much makes it impossible to play on the ground and impossible to finish a good number of missions.

I didnt see this one so here.
When Im in a system, , happened in several today. The comm will chime. then i have whatever conversation with the incoming transmission. when done I close it. Then It pops open again.
Klingons are closing in and the comm keeps popping open by itself and some dork in a red shirt is repeating the same conversation I had when entering the systm.
Its pretty aggro. if ya know what I mean.

Showstopper and horribly annoying.
EVERYTIME i beam down to anything i appear as my ship first and then turn into my char - my away team. This makes for a horrible game experience and makes it so you just cant do some missions or have to continually go into a room kill one guy get ganked and then respawn. NEEDS TO BE FIXED ASAP!!!!

I was successfully able to dupe many of my ships items today caused by lag. I was in the Sol System shipdock, my goal was to try and get a new ship- as i dont remember picking cruiser, and wanted to see if some of the other ships had better maneuverability as the birds of prey did. Before attempting this, i went to swap all my better (mk2) items back with the original default items. At this point i was in person form on the dock. I attempted to swap things out, but the lag was so bad it didnt work. I beamed back to my ship, attempted the same thing, by dragging and dropping, double clicking, dragging over the top of the items, etc.. Again, due to the lag, there was no effect. I then went to the sector map to see if that would reduce the lag a bit. It seemed to have worked, but when i went to swap the items out, i found duplicates of many of my mk2 items, and a couple of the originals as well. bug reported in game as well

i some how launched two clients, and at the,"same time" the server went down, right after i stopped the first launch? some how i was able to start the same account twice? and was that what caused the crash? some how i think that when i quit the game the old task that was running never ended. and when i try to login twice it caused a server crash.

Mega Showstopper!
In Deep Space engagements, my weapons go completely offline because when I target something, it shows it as farther away than it really is. How do I know this? Because they're able to shoot me and my targeting info says they're 20+ km away!:eek: It is helping me to practice my retreat.

All Away missions you beam down first and usually get your ship on the planet and even on a starbase. your AI crew doesn't beam down unless you abort then go back.
Used to happen ever now and then now it's EVERY mission.

I installed the beta last nite and have noticed the game to be very laggy when you beam down to fight the borg on the planet in the tutorial mission if ya will, but the showstopper i speak of is the loading screen once you are told 2 warp back to the sol system - NOT RESPONDING with 100% CPU usage in windows task manager.

Hi all,
I've been getting this right from the start of the tutorial- the keyboard and mouse can be used for chat and the toolbar, but no combination of keys (w/a/s/d, up/down, left-right mouse) will make my toon run or walk anywhere. The only way I can move is by double-tapping to roll.
I also don't seem to be able to interact with objects- it comes up with the option box to interact, I click it, it does nothing. Same when I press F, or double click the glowy thing.
Has anyone else had these problems?

Showstopper:
The Veela System and its quest is bugged. I've attempted to complete the quest in this zone twice and each time I emerge from the base after beaming medical supplies off and beaming back to my ship the game crashes. Each time after beaming back to space, I am my character, not my ship and that's when the crash occurs.
Somehow got out to space. Instead of taking the NPC prompts, I closed that out and clicked the Beam Out button. Got to Sector Space and was able to continue the event by destroying the last commanding ship.

Showstopper (exploit):
In a system or a ground mission, click "leaver system" or "beam up". Confirm in the first dialog. When you get to the instance selection screen for wherever this should take you, cancel. You are now invisible and can't be targetted, but can still interact with the environment and fire weapons.

For 2 days now ive been stuck at the loading screen to the sol system. no matter what i do i cant get past this loading screen for the sol system it just keeps comming back and is doing nothing for an hr on end each time.. please fix this cryptic .. how is this gonna be ready even close to on time is my question with these kinda problems

"Some of the level 4 Delta Volanis Cluster exploration missions cause the client to crash to the desktop due to CRC error/incorrect version.
The client verification checker fails to catch them. The number of files, when it checks, also goes beyond the 94,995 files it thinks it supposed to have.
I'll probably have to end up downloading the client again, but just wanted to point this out, in case there was another way to clean it up."
Just like him i REALLY don't want to have to go thru' that 2 day download to get to play that "genisis" stuff. :eek: :mad: :confused:

Bug : Resources - Sol Starbase : When requisitioning a bridge officer, I pay for it, my starfleet credits decrease by 100, but I do not get a BO.
I have tried this several times and have had my starfleet credits decremented each time. That part seems to work, but getting the BO never happens. This happened yesterday to me twice and once today after shutting down and bringing my computer back up. Isn't anyone else having this problem? I submitted an in-game bug for this.
Another BO related problem that is happening is that on some ground missions, BO's are not beaming down with me. So far, I've been able to abort the mission and they usually come down with me on the second try.
This seems related to the slow switching from ground avatar to space avatar problem, which is still happening, and to the very slow response when updating training or updating ships, BO's and character with items from inventory
200901170700 Update: Never mind, I found the solution here: http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=65438&p=1461388. Previously when I requisitioned a BO, they went into my inventory. My bad. I closed the ticket.

YES!! Please fix this. It makes playing the game impossible. Can't do ground missions and going ground to space character shows up and client crashes. This is the ultimate showstopper!!!

Cant log in "server is busy, try again later" - Question is how much later ??? I've been offline since 14:00 - it's 02:00am now ... 12 hours, no solutions or anything useful to find out why ...
Next up; beaming down to and from a planet either your ship or character is beamed to the planet or to space ... just log out and log in again - solves the problem (would help if it just didn't happen ofcourse) - but you don't have to abort the entire mission for it this way :)

I also have this same problem. All of the Saurian toons I have created can not use there skill points. I have bug reported this issue repeatedly.

Bug: Game plays great on my system, no slowdown or glitching/flickering, but have an issue with it instantly shutting my computer off. I'm a computer tech and it's such a instant just click it made me think video, and after installing newest drivers for my ATI Radeon 4800HD, sure enough if I look at the utility the fan is bumped to 100% while in game, and temp is rising 103'c then "click".
Worth noting, no issues in other games, it's odd that this one somehow ignores "safety" limits and just burns the GPU up.

I have the same problem, have you found a resolution?
in space: ship moves VERY slowly, even under full impulse. wasd will turn the ship, but holding both mouse buttons will not. when I press escape to show game menu (screen darkens) the ship will move full speed, but of course I can't control it while the menu is up
on ground: can dodger/rolll so movement keys WORK, but can't walk/run forward or backward. left mouse drag makes character acts as mouse look even though it SHOULD just move the camera..
tried resetting controls to default, restarted game a couple times. I even made a new character, same problem on new one. any suggestions?
EDIT: for Cryptic - I now have this problem in Champions Online as well. I understand these two game share a lot of the same engine. both these games were working fine last night, but after both games patched today I can no longer move forward.

We never hd this issue with COH/COV. So how are we addressing this as my character wont move.

Same issue here plus more often than not i get disconnected from server when i try to log in. I know its not my connection as i have checked both myself and with my ISP.

My character appears to have become corrupted. I now spawn in ground instances as my ship every time. When pressing "U" to bring up my character sheet it has my captain registered as a second active ship, complete with unusual stats and no access to my skills trees. Also, I have lost all space abilities (Evasive manoeuvres , attack pattern alpha).
In summary: I can't do anything on the ground, I have lost my effectiveness in space, and I can't skill up or customise anything about my character.

This is a show stopping bug.
Launcher crashes when launched from Steam on Windows 7, without error messages, because it does not have administrative rights even when installed in a place which does not require them.
Running the launcher seperate of Steam will also cause a crash.
Running the launcher seperate of steam with admin rights will launch the game properly.
This can be reproduced every time.
Steps to Reproduce:
1) Download the Star Trek Online Beta through Steam.
2) Launch the game
3) Enter username and password
Expected outcome:
Game patches if necessary and hands over to the game client
Actual result:
Game crashes shortly after getting to the launcher news page.

Loading into a mission and not in ship, finally ship loads, you beat first part, beam down onto ship or planet, only to have no away team, beam up, and have to start from begining.
This has happened atleast 10 times on ONE mission"USS Kirk". kinda gamestopper in my book.
This issue has happened more to me as new builds are applied.

Problem: I launch and log into Star Trek Online, game hangs for a momenrt, then crashes, causing my machine to reboot and recover from a fatal error. I am unable to play the game at all anymore, where as the game was working, while very laggy on the ground missions, before.
I think this is a pretty severe issue and am not planning to attempt to log into the game anymore until I can find some sort of solution out of concern for my machine integrity

Level 4 Delta Volanis Cluster exploration missions. Been trying to complete this for a while. I finish the ship combat if any, beam to planet and sometimes my 3 BO's don't show up. Once i Beamed down on a grey Sphere with nothing around. Got a Message nothing detected here with an option to beam out. I was suppose to beam right down where the Klingons where. Got my team down and I am suppose to defeat 3 enemy squads, stuck at 2/3 because the third squad must have chickened out and left. Nowhere to be found. Mission is Facility Chi Muscae PI 027 patrol - Secure Enemy Facility. Happened on a few others last night too.

Showstopper
Facility 3170-P, in the Arucanis Arm area isn't functioning properly. The mission requires you to access a computer, however when you do it does not update the tracker. I have been to all of the computer terminals that are interactive and accessed them and got no result. Had to abort the mission.

Can't imagine this is going to shock anyone to death but it is a showstopper:
ESD is going nuts with lag. you beam in and your still your ship. You change items on your ships and they don't respond for some time... changes to your character or Boffs are just as laggy.
It is really, bad. Just now I dropped by and next thing I know I leave with no player earned skills (only genearic) and no BOff skillz (they were assigned but had no skills available.
This is a show stopper in my book. :(

Good lord!
Well, after spamming the login screen about 30+ times, I finally managed to get into the game, and it APPEARS to be stable...
However, whenever I attempt to do the P'Jem mission, I clean out those Klink patrols with ease. Then I clean up the various scanned artifacts and radiation samples and so on...Then I finally beam down.
However, when I beam down, I'm my ship...This is not the first time I have had this happen, really early in the beta testing, when things were pretty lagged because too many people were hammering the server cluster(s) at one time, I have an 18MBit connection, and if I notice a hint of lag, that means the server I'm popping to is really hosed up, trust me...I used to be an MCSE and server admin is one of the worst jobs anyone in IT can have :D
Anyhow...So, I beam down as my ship...I just sit there and wait since I can't do anything else. After about 40 seconds to 80 seconds, my away team shows up and my ground mission actually begins...LAG.
So, I play though the mission, and it's not terribly lag-happy as I run through, but after re-running the entire damn P'Jem mission 7 times now, I start to notice that the lag which causes the avatar trouble is the same lag that prevents the NPC's from moving around properly...Sure, I get a heck of a lot of drops that way, since having to re-play the same mission over and over and getting drops over and over is always fun, but, when I finally get to the 8472, and I plaster it's butt in less than 20 seconds (you should see my BO's and me team that sucker, if it wasn't for that scripted no-attack run thing, it'd be turned into ash within another 10 seconds of the scripted run event), it runs, I take out all the Klinks on the way, and by the way, the Klinks have to be *THE* most boring enemy I've faced in a shooter since EF1's Klinks...Er...Wait...Based on the same theme...=/
Anyway, I scan for the 8472's transporter sig, then I beam up, having rid P'Jem of well over 120 Klinks in the process (7 times now, and I don't feel like lag-warping for an 8th)....
Naturally, the moment I beam up, my body is in space, nothing is happening, and even after waiting for more than 60 seconds, I start to bring up my inventory and/or my U key to check ship status (thereby forcing the game to realize it should be my SHIP and not ME that should be active, laggy sonofa---), then boom! I finally get a crash-to-desktop.
In the first two times this went on in real early beta, it wasn't a big deal because within literally 20 seconds, the server would figure it out and I could continue...
Now, since the last patch, and especially since Friday night, the entire game has basically gotten forced offline, it seems...Asides from a lucky few who managed to by-pass these retarded lag-driven space-ground transfer bugs.
After I got the CTD, I of course submitted the ticket about this matter: 6709571
Not like it'll do anything until at least Monday night, see, NO ONE SHIPS ANYTHING on Sunday, so Monday morning the admins will get the blades or whatever they're using for servers, then they have to x-fer the data from the main servers to the new ones, make sure all the data is lined up proper, then they have to make sure they have enough BANDWIDTH to cover the sheer number of connections that these new servers will have to take...Having hardware is good, but you have to buy the bandwidth (upstream isn't cheap), and it has to be enough to handle the appearently millions of connections that are coming in nowadays.
I didn't expect STO to be this high in demand, given the closed beta reviews about bad polish and the general hate-mongering that dominated the STO forum next-door for months on end until open beta came up...Now it's all the rage, and I find myself both amazed and pleasantly surprised by the demand all at once...Of course, I think this ALL could have been monitored better, if they had simply had retailers give them a final-count for all pre-order open beta keys that were registered/bought...Then figure in the idiots who worked at Best Lie for a day just to get their open beta, figure in the press and the few other groups, and you can actually ESTABLISH A RELIABLE COUNT for how many people will be in open beta.
Sure, you can't base your server/bandwidth on closed testing and specifications, as has been suggested, but they SHOULD have made a more educated guess as to their requirements before opening the flood-gates on the 6th. I cannot fathom Cryptic did not get a final count from the pre-order retailers and their other open beta sources, about just how many people were signed up for this thing...Now, did they already know they had capacity for like 750,000 connections, but that more than 1.5 million people had open beta access? Possible. They might have simply decided to see how far their closed beta testing aparatus could handle that many connections...Of course, they could have done this during the weekdays, just offer open beta players a bonus to energy credit gain from sold items so they take a sick day or something...;)
That way, this test, if my guess about it is accurate, could have been done in the same way, but they could have overnighted the blades or whatever they're using when shipping companies actually work ;)
Of course, they might have not known at all how many people are on open beta (and if this is true, I'm leaving, because the instant I find out the developer can't monitor how many people are on their own services, that's the end of the game, because Atari sure ain't running these servers, they might be cutting the checks, but they aren't running the show), and gotten screwed by just not knowing...
I find the first scenario more likely, because I know Cryptic has a record of every account for open beta, you can't get into open beta without a serial, ya know? My guess is they wanted to see if their closed beta hardware could handle the 1million+ connections, of course, I'd love to ask their admin(s) WTF they thought they were doing by not pre-ordering things to meet the demand that was already known about ;)

I reported this issue (away team often missing on beaming down) 6-8 hours ago, and the request was responded to saying it is now resolved, but it isn't.

I think it's related to the fact that when you first beam down, instead of your character showing up, your starship does, initially that was so bad, I could move around with the starship! Now the starship still shows up but very briefly, and conversely when you beam up, your character shows up briefly in space instead of the ship! Yes sometimes beaming up and beaming back down fixes it but that's too annoying.
After the fix where they only show up briefly, it seems the fix was only cosmetic, becaus on the gorn away mission (disabling the power nodes), after I beamed down, I kept seeing warp out of system meaning something in the backend thought I was still a starship!
The funny thing is I've learned some tricks to take out 3 klingons on my own, but it sucks in missions like the gorn where there's like 500 of them, and if you're on your own you have to respawn every 10 seconds and walk back to where you where.
This is definitely a critical showstopper for away missions, and I'm not sure why they haven't fixed it immediately. I'm guessing there must be some special case for it to happen.
For instance, I have 4 bridge crew, and whenever I go to the assignments screen and try to assign them to the away team funny things happen, I think the code for specifying the away team members is messed up. I would select crew#4 in slot 4 and suddenly it moves all of them up by one. When I had 3 it was almost impossible to get all 3 assigned unless you always start with the first one and assign it there (and it kinda queses it to the rest). That's still not fixed at all by the way. Although it may be the kinda fix that requires opening a new character to notice (meaning they won't bother fixing broken characters in a beta but only the cause for breaking them) which is understandable.

I bugged this in game, during the mission, but reproduce it here for the interest of others.
I was 1/3 of the way through War is Good for Business, in the ground mission segment, when in the middle of a fight all my ground powers grayed out including my melee attack, my food, and my shield charge consumable. I could not use any of them.
The mission was -1 level for me, and my crew had MkII gear and good ground skills, so we continued and I was able to complete the mission without my Captain making any attack or using any powers, but this sounds like a Critical Issue to me!
When the mission ended and the Ferengi Captain was apprehended, I beamed up to the ship and my space powers eventually appeared, after the usual delay while my Captain was standing in space. The next time I went down to a planet, all my powers had returned.

Bugs
Also a major bug about beaming down without a crew really stinks. What do you think the guys in the red shirt are for! This needs to be fix!
Long load times to instance:
a) May cause a disconnect.
b) 50% chance of losing team mates if load time is too long or hangs
Still appearing as a ship on station and appearing in character in space. Usually a minute or so to fix itself, but then you are getting ganked if it is a hotzone.
Now and then my ship is unable to fire beam weapons until the next major engagement. This happens randomly.
If running a mission on solo it is rare that I get the ‘next respawn point’ I usually have to start all the way from the beginning., but if I am in a group, then the next respawn point updates like dream.

Ground combat client crash
The client crashes almost everytime in the middle of combat on ground combat missions.
Happens multiple times in each mission and even breaks mission progress sometimes.
It does not matter if I am grouped or solo. Happens in missions as well as in Ground PVP.
Never happened in space.
Only the client crashes, my OS is fine.
Might be triggered by skill use by me or a BO.
Seems not to happen when not in combat or not using skills.
Ground combat is not playable for me at this stage.
Windows Vista Ultimate with latest updates and drivers.

Details: I have the same problem that I cannot advance past the loading screen when I enter Sol System for the first time. I managed to get past it once the first time I encountered the problem but immidatly after I lost connection. I was actually able to see the Sol System and I saw that I was next to a Star Base but I could not do anything other then log out.

Showstopper: Mission cannot be completed
Delta Volanis Cluster mission "Planet W275-T"
Mission instructions, communications text, and the planet surface match in being a mission about scanning for decalithium. However, the actual mission milestone info appears to be from a completely different mission, involving "Inspect Medical Supplies" (Inspect Medical Crate, Gather More Supplies, Gather Remaining Supplies).
While it is possible to advance part-way blind, by running around scanning rocks (and eventually fighting some Orion pirates), it seems that the decalithium mission isn't designed to spawn as many objectives as the medical mission, and you can't complete.
ETA: Attempting to abort the mission and beam up locked up the client at the loading screen, (netgraph was still showing light traffic, so not a server disconnect problem). After killing client, restarting (and ending up in the cluster overmap), attempting to Continue W275-T had an *unusually* long delay, and dropped back into a reset version of the mission with the same uncompletable bug.

I have been unable to find the 4th "Gather Remeaning supplies". I am stuck and unable to complete the mission.

I have the same problem, have you found a resolution?
in space: ship moves VERY slowly, even under full impulse. wasd will turn the ship, but holding both mouse buttons will not. when I press escape to show game menu (screen darkens) the ship will move full speed, but of course I can't control it while the menu is up
on ground: can dodge/rolll so movement keys WORK, but can't walk/run forward or backward. left mouse drag makes character acts as mouse look even though it SHOULD just move the camera..
tried resetting controls to default, restarted game a couple times. I even made a new character, same problem on new one. any suggestions?
EDIT: for Cryptic - I now have this problem in Champions Online as well. I understand these two game share a lot of the same engine. both these games were working fine last night, but after both games patched today I can no longer move forward.
EDIT (one more time): okay, I feel a little stupid. I congratulate Cryptic on their OOB support of Xbox controllers in all their games. I was wondering what was the same between STO and CO... the controller.. sure enough a box had fallen off my desk and was resting on a couple of the buttons of my wired USB Xbox controller.. moved the box, problem solved.. don't know what button would cause the crazy behavior I described above, but anyone with similar problems... check for stuck buttons :)

Bug: Started the mission "Kuvagh-Magh" (or something like that). This mish has multiple subquests. 1. Kill all ships nearby the planet/radio station. 2. defuse 5 bombs, 3. save all diplomats in the embassy...
Ok, in my first attemp to solve the mish the first 2 subquest were no problem. but after i entered the embassy, i had no away team anymore. First I thought it was DAW, but soon I realized, it wasn't, because there were too many enemies for a single char. So i restarted the mission: Step 1 was easy but after beamin on the planet I saw no away team again. Restarted the mission 2 times more, no away team (even after selecting the crewmembers).
So I left the mission, (i thought this mission is somehow broken) and started an other quests. Oh, what a surprise: Even there i don't have any away team anymore.

I had a bug on a ground mission;
After completing the objectives of the mission, a dialog appeared and offered me two choices: depart or wait.
When i chose wait, and continued to rescue more helpless souls, and then departed....My mission progress did not get updated.
I had to do the mission again, and then leave when the dialog appeared.

Mission: "The Price of Liberty"
Multiple times I was unable to target any of the Borg probes, which meant I couldn't shoot at them, even when they were attacking me. I only survived because an NPC ship fired at the probe attacking me, finally destroying it. Clicking on a probe only brought up a frame called "Enemy" in a distance of 27,5 kilometers (or something like that). I double-checked the area and made sure there was no possibility to accidentally click on anything else, but still trying to target the nearest probe (sometimes only 2-3 kilom. away) only showed this mysterious "enemy" frame.
Mission: "Plasma problems" (should be something like that, I only know the German name)
When I went through the corridor in front of the second plasma leak, one of my security officers got stuck in a wall, opposite to the door of the room where you find the console to close the second plasma leak. He finally got out of there when I went down the whole corridor with the rest of my team, but before that there had been no possibility to get him out. (I didn't know corridor walls were so comfortable :D )

CTD when accessing Captain's Log
Since the last patch, I CTD every time I access my Captain's Log. Whether via the minimap icon, via the default keyboard shortcut (L), or via a re-bound keyboard shortcut, the Captain's Log interface will appear, then 1-2 seconds later, CTD and the Cryptic Error Reporting UI appear.
I've reported it each time via that, and the in-game Green Bug. There's nothing on Google about it, and nothing in these forums either, so I'm as confident as I can be that it's worth appearing in this thread. After all, the Captain's Log is a pretty essential part of the game!

During missions where I am on land, I experience a complete client freeze. My graphics distort and only on few occasions can I ctl-alt-del to kill the client so I don't have to hard reset my machine. I do not have any issues during any space missions, only those on the ground. No particular action or event triggers it, but when I am outdoors, the client crashes in a matter of minutes.
Specs:
Intel Core2 Quad: 2.33
8Gig DDR2 RAM
Radeon 4800: 1gig DDR3 Video Card
Windows 7 ultimate 64x
All drivers and software are updated.

I have been unable to advance past the tutorial; the Sol System won't load. The loading bar will freeze about 80% of the way through. I have left the game on the load screen for half an hour. I have reloaded multiple times, unsuccessfully. Without some kind of a fix, I'm stuck.

Also had this problem; ticket #460008. If it follows the progression of similar missions, the first computer should generate a popup that tells you to visit several more computers; IIRC there are a total of 4 active computers on the map. Mission cannot be completed.

i was recently on the "echo" something or other mission (early on in the game) and i had to beam down to a station. i was in the instance with 2 other guys. after about 30 seconds on the ground, my character stopped moving and a red beam just kept shooting out of my gun (the secondary attack) towards the spot where the last enemy was. everyone else was able to keep moving so i just waited until they finished the mission without me and then beamed back out.
another bug i've noticed is that sometimes i'll join a fight against random enemies out in space and i'll get credit for beating them before i ever engaged them, so i can just exit out and keep the credits

This appears to happen more often if you have no "generic red shirts" on your away team (ie, usually when you hire your 4th BO). For some reason, the generic red shirt security is far more likely to appear with you, and if you have even one NPC with you, you can click on the Reinforcements button and eventually get the rest of them. I reported this particular mission's problem with it as #451673.
The compounding problem is that if you somehow have no BOs, there is no Reinforcements button; and there doesn't seem to be any console (slash) command or assignable keystroke to perform this function. As a short term fix, would it be possible to add a /requestreinforcements command that does what the button does? This would allow far better continuation of testing and gameplay while the underlying bugs get sorted out, and will be a useful emergency feature going forward.

Bug: Stuck in loading screen while loading Sol System from the colony. Upwards of 15 minutes of waiting did not resolve issue. Cannot submit bug report in game as I cannot load character in-game and don't see button on Character Selection screen.

So I was thinking, since I cant get into the SOL (Sh*t Outta Luck?) system, I would try creating a new character to play just so I could get my fix.
Well now I'm stuck on the "retrieving characters" screen so a guess no new character for me.
Srsly guys, as a software developer I am embarrassed for you that this is the level of your product 2 weeks prior to launch.
Forgetting the numerous playability issues the thing doesn't even work.

This bug is defenately a show stopper. you cannot solo the away missions with 4 BO's. i will try just using 3 BO's. but that is not a fix. if you add the command string it would be a good temp fix. because when i do missions grouped we are able to call the reinforcements and get our away team loaded and proceed as normal. but the underlying bug should be adrressed before live imho. the ground content breaks up the monotany of space grinding and is what makes this game enjoyable. a bug that breaks ground content like this should not be ignored.

Away team not showing up on beam down.
I hope the Dev's realize that if this bug lasts until opening day, the game is basically unplayable on the
ground, short of dying 10's of times as you kill 1-2 mobs at a time and then respawn.
This bug is still occurring constantly as of 1/18/10 PM.
Interestingly enough , in 1 mission I was given the option on the ground of "Warp to Sector", which when I selected it did not cause mission progress to appear to be lost, but it was although when I began again
my away team did show up.

well you not the only one i have started getting the recently and its only when i beam out to my ship from a ground mission it stays in space for like 2 min then it crashes to desktop and i have tryed other ships, it started only after i started doing missions in sectors other than the first two areas

There are some continuing showstopper issues that need to be fixed:
UI "In Mission Actions" Interface
The UI "In Mission Actions" Interface is still often more of a clunky interference element than a truly polished game "actioner".
There are so many times that the UI "In Mission Actions" Interface is more like an annoying game missions bug than anything else. The instances of this are too numerous to bug individually in game without constantly having to interrupt the mission thus breaking any semblance of continuity and game play in those areas.
The main problem is, for example, when the UI "In Mission Actions" Interface will not go away even though there is nothing you can do about it until you fulfill another aspect of the mission - E.G. "Beam up X" although you can't "Beam up X" until you fulfill "Accomplish Mission Y", AND the bloomin UI "In Mission Actions" Interface button "Beam up X" WILL NOT GO AWAY!
Another problem we encountered was in several missions where we all had a huge UI "In Mission Actions" Interface square in front of us that WOULD NOT GO AWAY AND KEPT US IN AN ENDLESS LOOP of it prompting the same questions for the same answers that would bring us back to the beginning question ALL THE WHILE WE WERE GETTING ATTACKED!
We had to tell the other members to ignore the giant UI "In Mission Actions" Interface box and just maneuver around it in space (like it was a giant Star Wars scrolling text THAT WAS REAL) and come help fight the enemy hiding behind the big UI "In Mission Actions" Interface never-ending loop box.
There were other problems with the UI "In Mission Actions" Interface in, for example, the Delta Volanis cluster mission area. Even though we were teamed, it was still possible for my other team member to launch a different mission because he tabbed either too late or the wrong area. I was fighting Klingons, then had to leave to get him, then entered again and found Gorns, but when he entered, he was with the Klingons again. We had to actually leave the cluster to clear this UI "In Mission Actions" Interface link-up mess.
I know it may be hard coded in the supermarket mesh of your game engine, but I really do not like how clunky and error prone this UI "In Mission Actions" Interface is. We should not have to click THREE or FOUR times to engage ONE action
Example:
Click ONE = "Did you see the box at the lower right? (Yes, we know you are fighting, but we are giving you even ONE more button to look at and have to click, lol)"
Click TWO = "We are now going to insert a UI "In Mission Actions" Interface TAB in front of you to confirm that you saw the button in the corner."
Click THREE = "Confirm you want to INTERFACE with this box and its "action" by clicking it."
Click FOUR = "Confirm you want to TAKE ONE or TAKE ALL of the small goody in the box by clicking it."
All the while you are clicking away, you are much of the time STILL IN COMBAT!
Another one: You are getting blown up by multiple enemies and some doof appears in a giant UI "In Mission Actions" Interface box to make you have to cycle through dialogue tabs in order to advance the mission ALL WHILE YOU ARE STILL IN COMBAT!
If this were translated into a Star Trek movie or TV episode, Kirk would have to RUN over to Uhura's station to read her screen and mash buttons to chat with starfleet or TYPE to Scotty what to do WHILE STILL IN COMBAT, leaving pretty much everybody powerless to do anything until he can run back to HIS station to start giving movement, attack, shield, etc. orders again!
Please find a way to fix this UI "In Mission Actions" Interface problem. It is quite literally a showstopper when it bugs and gets in the way during otherwise normal game play.
Looting needs to have a way to set ALWAYS LOOT ALL so we don't even need to push any buttons or simply right click to get it. Other games have very sweet controls for this - why can't we?
UI "In Mission Actions" Interfaces IN MISSION need to either be reworked or be voiced with only 1 or 2 rapid choices to be made.
If you cannot figure out how to fix this, then please give us the option to PAUSE game play until we can finish tabbing through all the stuff crammed in the box, thank you. :)
Sorry for so much text, but this bug was so prevalent and annoying, and it has been reported before... :(

So I was thinking, since I cant get into the SOL (Sh*t Outta Luck?) system, I would try creating a new character to play just so I could get my fix.
Well now I'm stuck on the "retrieving characters" screen so a guess no new character for me.
Srsly guys, as a software developer I am embarrassed for you that this is the level of your product 2 weeks prior to launch.
Forgetting the numerous playability issues the thing doesn't even work.
I also tried on two different characters. I first encountered it around last Wed or Thu so I started a new char and quickly got to the same point. Also had the one time where the system loaded but was disconnected from the server by then. From what I've heard, it's mainly an issue with load. Is SOL not broken up into instances like other areas of the tutorial? That could be why. Oh well, beta is beta after all. Just a little disappointed that I can't see the rest of the game to even test it.

CTD whenever I beam up to my ship.
Repeatable: virtually every time
Have tried from different locations (Stardock, K7, various ground-based missions) to different ships (escort and cruiser). Beam up to captain in space, no ship (although I frequently get the ship on the ground instead of captain bug as well, I never crash when beaming down). Crash to desktop within 5 to 10 seconds of loading in space.
I'm also seeing this issue; from every mission and every location with some sort of ground action. I'm hoping it's just a result of the server being overloaded and not checking to see if there're too many people on to support a new ship in space.

So turning down the graphics settings actually got me through, which was exciting, but hopefully I can shed some light on the matter -- when I shut down the client application, I got the following error message pop-up:
The instruction at "0x042c572e" referenced memory at "0x0df9ea00". The memory could not be "read".
Click on OK to terminate the program.
Troubleshooting tools on my PC haven't turned up any physical memory issues. I should also note that this issue never, ever manifested for me during closed beta; it only happened when I uninstalled and then reinstalled the open beta client through Gamespy's FilePlanet downloader.

I haven't seen it on this thread yet so here goes, for completeness' sake...
Showstopper (exploit):
In a system or a ground mission, click "leaver system" or "beam up". Confirm in the first dialog. When you get to the instance selection screen for wherever this should take you, cancel. You are now invisible and can't be targetted, but can still interact with the environment and fire weapons.

Show's stopped at Sol System. I beamed to my ship from Earth Spacedock and there was nothing: no map, no background graphics, no objects, no other players, no 'Go to sector space' or 'Dock' button. I'm completely stuck, even after restarting the game, restarting the computer, then restarting the game and then a game restart where the launcher 'verified' stuff for a couple of minutes.

This is not only affecting the ground combat! I found the exact same exploit yesterday, and tested some things out.
I found out that the exploit is also useable in space combat.
Also you WILL take damage from nearby explosions, or when players are attacking other ships in your proximity.
This really has to be fixed before launch! This is a massive exploit, which WILL definitely be used by players to get a massive advantage over other players which play the fair way.

During the "Defend Starbase 13" open fleet action, after we defeated the Klingons in space, me and my away team beamed aboard Starbase 13. As soon as we beamed aboard, my away team had pulled out their tribbles and wouldnt stop petting them lol. The tribbles also grew in size for a few seconds. Then the game crashed. After restarting my system, the mission started where I left off, and had the same result.
Anyone else have this problem? Im kind of stuck at the moment.
EDIT: Turns out its actually Starbase 24. Alot of the dialouge options leading up to it call it Starbase 13. It also happened after the ship/person confusion bug. Beamed into the base as my ship, sans an away team, and shortly after I returned to human form I crashed again.

When it finally resolves to my character, I do not have my away team with me and cannot complete any missions with combat. I have reported this bug twice, and both times I've seen that it "has been resolved," and yet I'm still having the same issue.

I have both the tribbles issue (I reported it without the crash) as well as this one. To work around the missing away team one once you turn back into the captain log out of the game then log back in. After about a minute your away team appears. Annoying? Yes, especially when the authentication servers are maxed out.

Ground Mission Objectives titled "Liberate trading facility"
BUG: Defeat enemy squad #3 never appears on the map. Players are unable to complete this star cluster mission.
All Attempts to Workaround failed:
- Beam Up / Continue mission
- Logoff & Restart Game
- Wait for server reboot & try again
Final Result: Had to "drop" mission due to this showstopper
Ticket System down - Unable to bug it.

Bug Significance: Showstopper
Bug: Any area that is indoors, will crash me to Desktop after about 5-10 minutes. This causes me not being to finish any missions that have indoor areas. The game just seems to freeze up and the Cryptic error windows pops up.

I am gonna guess you, and anyone else that has this problem, are using an ATI card. This is the second game by cryptic that has an issue with my graphics card. Champions had odd graphic glitches and one that caused the entire screen to flicker anytime I moved the camera. 2 days later I cancelled so please don't have the same kinda problem with STO.
Does Cryptic programmers hate ATI or something?
And to add:
Any mission taking place in the exploration clusters that I have to beam to the surface, also suffers the same bug as above, but on top of that if I show up on the surface as a ship, away team does not follow. And if they do happen to beam down they fall through the ground and get stuck after moving about 100m
btw, any exploration planet with odd names such as Phi Canis 345 or something similar have this issue. About the only ones that work are, scan 5 anomalies or scan something on the planet surface.

They might have resolved the issue. But we still have it because they have not released the patch yet. So until they release it you are still gonna have that ship on surface issue.

I have been unable to advance past the tutorial; the Sol System won't load. The loading bar will freeze about 80% of the way through. I have left the game on the load screen for half an hour. I have reloaded multiple times, unsuccessfully. Without some kind of a fix, I'm stuck.
Just wondering if anyone has heard of a fix for this or one coming? Trying to help a friend with this and have reinstalled, dropped the graphics settings and created new toons.

On the upper left side of the Log In screen there is an OPTIONS tab. When this problem happens to me I check the START IN SAFE MODE and it loads fine. By checking this your essentially turning all the high end graphics for your video card off.

Bug: Stuck in loading screen while loading Sol System from the colony. Upwards of 15 minutes of waiting did not resolve issue. Cannot submit bug report in game as I cannot load character in-game and don't see button on Character Selection screen.

Game Crashes when I join a Team and am fighting in space. I have been having alot of crashes the past couple days and now I see what it is. I will be doing the Secure The Sector mission fighting NPCs for hours with no problems, but as soon as I join a Team within 5-10 minutes the game crashes. I'm assuming that somehow being in a Team is the common demonimator so I think you should look at this.

Bug: Unable to skill up. Ever! On ANY characters!
No matter how many new characters i create, no matter if i relog, restart the game, or re-patch, everytime i click "Accept" in the skill window it just gives me an error.
"Error while trying to skill up".
Pretty much unplayable, and OB rather pointless for me, given that i could only test the tutorial over and over and over.
Same error EXACTLY. Re-installed game. Did complete scan of files. Deleted characters. No help.
Additional data: When I created a Gorn character, HE was able to skill up. VERY curious... :confused:
I'm not particularly enthusiastic about PvP, and the amount of low-end missions I had to complete to enable Klingon play was exhausting. All because I couldn't spend advancement points on my Starfleet Ensign and train him up to Lieutenant and above.

A common problem I have in systems when I am in a group is when we complete a section, an option pops up to warp to the next part of the mission. Sometimes I want to stay for a few seconds to pick up loot or scan some loot, so I try to close it; but there is no way to bring the option back once I complete looting so I can catch up with the group.

Gamebreakers!
Problems with my klingon:
Skill trees all gone, just a black screen with "Total points spent: 0/11800" at bottom
Ability to shoot guns on away missions gone, kit skills still work: tried unequipping and re-equipping guns, didn't work.
Evasive maneuvers and attack pattern gone.
Cannon Rapid fire doesn't work anymore, making cannons inferior to beams.
HELP PLEASE!!

Captain's Log Causes CTD
In addition to instant CTD from accessing the Captain's Log via the minimap button and via keyboard shortcut (both default and rebound), clicking the 'Log' button in the ship/character inventory UI also causes instant CTD.

I have this same problem for the past 6 days, everytime I get to a load screen it takes several minutes or just stalls completely. I've reported the same issue. Any time trying to load Sol system or Sector space, the load screen of death it is. There is a workaround. Before loading those systems, lower your graphics settings to Minimum. The system loads quickly, and you can then raise your graphics back to Max. Most of the time I just leave them at Min until I get to a mission and want to see the details. I've wondered if it's because I only have a single core CPU, below min spec, but if that's the case, why can I raise my settings back up after loading Sol or Sector space without any issues? *shrug*

My ship is no longer able to use full-impulse.
I placed the ability on a hot-key bar and then decided I didn't want it there and removed it from the bar (right-click and drag off the bar).
The ability did not re-appear in my "P" abilities list and the "Full-impulse" button above the speed bar no longer takes the ship to full impulse (the tooltip still says "Full Impulse" but the button only takes the ship up to max normal impulse speed).
I changed ships and found that my old Light Cruiser could still use Full-Impulse.
I then changed back to the Cruiser and it still is unable to go to Full-Impulse.
Given the need to move quickly through tactical maps in space, this is a show-stopper for my ability to use the Cruiser in combat and on missions that require any kind of travel through system space.

Re-equip your impulse engines. They will be in your inventory.

The engines were gone from the ship but were not in my inventory.
I had a second set in the bank though and placing them in the ship did restore the ship's ability to move on impulse (both regular and full).

In Unseen Threat my ship was destroyed before destroying the undine dreadnought. I was not able to warp back to the fight, but by the time i got there on full impulse, the Klingon's that were helping me were destroyed; making the mission impossible to complete.
There needs to be an option to reset the mission.

After respawning I was able to exit out of the zone and when I selected to continue the mission the Klingons respawned. Maybe automatically fail people on the mission if your support is gone and require them to reenter?

Ground Combat in Starbase 24. pushed the sniper button before it was ready to fire and the graphics went crazy and the game client crashed.

I beamed down to a ground mission and my bridge crew did not come with me. I requested reinforcements and nothing happened.
I had to request reinforcements in combat before the crew would join me.
Should they not come if i request them regardless?

Then an error box pops up. It says:

I logged in outside of starbase 24 after the crash, and the bridge crew messages would not properly respond and get off the screen. After being destroyed because I couldnt move my ship, i remain there unable to respawn.

WARPING TO THE SOL SYSTEM AFTER FIRST MISSION SET--SITS ON LOAD SCREEN FOR INDEFINITE PERIOD. NON-RESPONSIVE BUT DOES PLAY THE HISTORICAL TIPS.
I logged out of the game using ctrl-alt-delete. Re-entered twice and both times I was stuck in freeze frame load screen.

If you are stuck trying to access SOL or any other system. Click the option button on the launcher and choose safe mode. This seems to fix the stuck loading system bug.

Showstopper: Falling to my death in space......say what?
Bug: I loaded from the Sol starbase into system space only to see my avatar fall about 12000 miles, I apparently hit the floor cause I died. Respawned and everything was ok. But this bug is getting annoying. At least 70% of the time when I load into space its my avatar and not my ship, when I load into a ground situation its my ship. Like I was able to fly up to the second floor in my cruiser, I was flying roughly a minute.

ANY transition from station to ship, sol to sector, sector to sector, and warp or beam, I get disconnected to log in screen, buddy of mine in game says I'm still logged so my ghost will not time out to let me back into game. Not that it would do me any good as I can't play.
While waiting for ghost to time at log in screen I get "disconnected from account server" message.

Tailor Payment Bug

Using tailor at Sol Spacedock, attempting to change all BOFFs to use new TNG Movie Combadge; no problems on first three. On fourth (male bolian tactical officer), going into transaction I had 4,820 energy credits. After selecting his new combadge, modification price was listed as 60 credits. After hitting purchase, I then had only 482 credits. He didn't actually get his new combadge either.
Reattempted his badge purchase twice, both times still listed as 60 cost; after each purchase attempt, no credits were charged at all, and his badge was still never changed.

Description: stuck on "retrieving character list" for literally 10-20 minutes..... i watched the clock. followed by disconnecting because of timing out im assuming. this happens almost every time i log into the game. half the time i just close the game because it is a ridiculous wait time.
I get the same thing. What sucks even worse is when i do get in, everytime i goto a loading screen it disconnects me from the server and then i have to spend 10-15 min to get back in.

I have tried numerous times to level up my character and crew members, to no avail. I am accumilating points to spend on the various things, but whenever i click accept or apply it simply will not upgrade any skills. An error message comes onto the screen, "There was an error while trying to rank up your skills" I have not ranked up once yet, and as i cant do so, it is hindering my progress and it is getting increasingly difficult to take further quests due to my rank.
Hopefully their will be a fix to this.

I have stared having this issue after the last patch, I can increase my skills, but when I click accept I get an error and the skills are reset to what they were before.
Until this is properly fixed there is a way to work around this.
Go to you ships bridge, you should be able to skill p there.
To get to you bridge, find the little triangle button next to your minimap.
From the dropdown menu, select visit bridge.
You should then be able to skill up and save it.

HELP PLEASE!!
I have tried everything I can think of...including repatching!!!
Since the big patch on 20 Jan, I can't access any systems past the sirius sector. I created a second toon and they can.
Once I leave the Sirius sector the systems no longer hace the labels above them and I cant enter them. I can enter the conflict zones and interact with the various merchants in all the sectors but I cant interact with the systems to enter them. I cant figure out what the problem is and have filed a ticket on the 20th but still no response.
Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this problem?
