Seizure enducing flashing lights.
For this to happen you need a widescreen resolution. Does not happen on 4:3
But does happen on 16:10
Directly after selecting your character, the load screen with the badge in the middle isn't wide enough.
So the sides will rapidly flash, and flash very bright too.
A single second of the flashing gives me a headache. I have to shield my eyes from it, as closing them isn't even enough because of how bright it flashes.
To someone prone to seizures, this could be devastating.
heres a screenshot, please note the bars on the sides those flash very bright.

Then they shouldn't be played a game like this, there are bright flashing lights all over the place.

Thats as far as I can get in the game I click on my toon and hit play the screen flashes all crazy then it tells me the maps are full, Hell If I could have a seizure if might be more fun then just sitting here clicking play over and over again.

And if someone had never had the problem before and this triggered it its cool right? No its not. I get the same thing, and it just hurts the eyes.

Is that like saying that someone hit by a drunk driver shouldn't have been there?
It's something unexpected, and beyond user control - that's why it's being reported. Don't be such a 'macho' type, understand that there are a multitude of people and each of them is different.

I've also encountered this error. It is not as dangerous as annoying. Plus the loading bar does not overlay the background picture.

Maybe too much common sense, but using a computer for ANY video game shouldn't be attempted by someone prone to seizures. It's possibly as bad a concept as mixing jet fuel in a margarita.

Those of you saying "they shouldn't play games like this."
That's very arrogant of you.
It's like you're trying to justify a reason for the bug existing.
Look, i'm not saying someone prone to seizers SHOULD be playing games, but that doesn't mean they dont.
If this bug can be fixed by simply increasing the resolution of that texture, all the better.
It's a bug that shouldn't exist in the first place.
I was just saying, this happens to be one that could trigger a seizure in someone.
It gave me a headache and i've never had a seizure (to my knowledge)
The bug should be fixed, regardless of the reason.
And trust me, game developers love to minimize risk of seizures in players.. because it's both good for the players, and increases the player base.

I don't wanna sound like a butt here, but won't lowering the brightness on your monitor help a bit?

I tried that, because I have the same problem. It has something to do with the refresh rate of the loader screen vs. the semi-static background that's not entirely being covered. It's a good bug to report.

What i dont get, is why people are trying to give excuses, and reasons for them not to fix it.
I shouldn't have to turn down my monitor brightness.
The problem simply shouldn't exist.
So i would really appreciate if you guys would stop with the BS about what I should do, or what other players should do. And focus on what cryptic should do.
Really they only need to increase the size of the texture.... just add black boarders.
I could edit said texture in photoshop in 1 minute.

seizure prone individuals must walk a razor's edge using a computer for anything . . . a monitor's display is based on millions of flickering pixels pulsing light thousands of times per millisecond. If I ever had a seizure as a result of light/imagery, I'd not be looking at computer screens any more than I'd be staring directly into a Strobe-light.
so, can we wrap this thread up with the following conclusions and end the OP's sermon?
1) yes, the problem needs to be fixed
2) people with seizure issues, you're cracked to be reading this unless someone printed it onto paper

ow yeah, i had that problem too yesterday.
the space station on the right and the planet on the left, continuously flashing. and i was playing on a 4:3 resolution, which was standard in my case.
Extremely annoying and yes, possibly seizure inducing. Lucky for me i was playing it in a windowed version, so i just opened a few other windows and put those in front of the flashy objects.
But seriously, if people have to hade their game to play it. not a good job.
Would be very much appreciated if this was fixed
