Whenever I switch from ship to character (or vice versa) until I move the skin does not change.

it did that to me too i got a screenshot of my character floating in space LOL :p

yep did that too me too - during a beam down mission though, and when i did get my character model back - my boffs were gone, so it was just me and a sec officer

For me, it did not automatically switch when I moved. I had to logout and then log back in fix the model.
