Eternal "Retrieving list of Characters.."

Help! Anybody else have this problem... finally got rid of the 10 minute disconnect cycles (For the past hour at least) and now I cant seem to retrieve my character list. Seriously.... Should this even be an issue with mmorpg programs anymore? You can say all the other companies have dealt with this issue before... but games like wow and EQ I and EQ 2 had these issues like 7 years ago.

Im getting same problem patched loaded and now all i get is endless retrieving characters screen. They should atleast allow u to hit Esc and go back to login if something is stuck or taking a real long time. Yeah i am having same problem too.

Last weekend of open beta will be speant trying to fix this problem via patches and tech support telling me how I have to reconfigure my router again.... wee!

Same here, was playing fine, got stuck loading out of the Starbase 24 interior mission, had to contl/alt/dlt, now am stuck at retrieving character. Anyone have any ideas?

Yes, i am retrieving characters as well :) I got stuck while getting out of SS Azora stone, relogged and patched and now it retrieves characters.

Launcher syas "Unable to contact account servers (3)"

Same boat here. Last five login attempts have resulted in a dead-end at the Retrieving List of Characters... window. In my case, I CADded out of a stuck loading screen in-game. I suspect the game thinks you still have a character in-game, still trapped at that first loading screen, and it won't bring up a character list until it resets--which might be the next time they run a maintenance.

Launcher tells "Unable to contact account servers (3)" Yet it seemingly accepts my username and password and goes to retrieving characters part

EDIT: While typing that it founded my character :) Do i dare to test relog...

Remember the equipment they have that were playing on isn't the new stuff that they ordered so this older stuff isn't up to speed and prone to lag and any thing else you can think of, to bad the new equipment hasn't been put in place for the last weekend of Beta.
