Three things you should know about the Unrepentant Fleet in Star Trek Online:

Here's the deal. Unrepentant is a casual guild out to have some fun times flying in space and blowing stuff up. We're a bunch of overgrown kids who think the people you play with are more important than the games you play. We have families, jobs, life obligations; we log on at night to chill with cool folks** just like us. If you're someone just like us, we want you in the fleet.

But wait! There's more! Not only do you get a fleet full of cool cats when you join The U, you get a whole gaming community! Unrepentant is an adult gaming community with active guilds in ****, Champions, DDO, Global Agenda, and now STO. We also play online games such as L4D2, TF2, Killing Floor, Borderlands, and COD:MW2, and we're planning for the Upcoming release of The Old Republic. Basically, if you play it, chances are we're playing it too.

Sound good? Alright. Here's what we need from you:

1. You have to be 18+. Our average guild member is around 30; our members range from 20s to 60s.

Yeah, CO got pretty hectic. I'm guessing the sheer number of people wanting to join was enough to overwhelm the officers. Throw in the trouble we were having with the website around that time(it used to be hosted by a member, and his server room flooded) and it was just a mess. I'm sorry that things worked out like that for you.

Yeah, that's us, and I remember you. We really couldn't have had a worse time for our website to go down repeatedly: right in the middle of the recruitment for Champions, with dozens of people getting their work lost or corrupted. I'm not a patient man on a good day; those times made me want to reach through the computer and strangle someone. I believe you actually got the very worst of it, as you lost your app more than once.

Tell you what - if you're interesting in trying us out again, let me propose a deal. Look us up in game (send a tell to @maxamos, or search for Unrepentant; we also have a custom chat channel I'll send you the info for in a PM), and get brought into the guild temporarily. Play with us for a bit and see if you feel like we're worth the effort of applying again. If so, apply; if not, you'll at least road test us before you make your purchase. ;)

I'll shoot a note to the STO leadership mentioning you may be dropping them a line. Sorry you managed to luck into the most frustrating experience anyone has had with us. (Other than a former member named Wolf, who hated pretty much everything I said or wrote. :D)

Encima - up to you if you want to make the leap. I'm the guy that designed the app, and I'll tell you straight up that being funny isn't required, nor is being long-winded. Honestly, all we're looking to see is that you're someone fun to hang out with. Because we're an entire gaming community that plays many games, we use an application instead of vent or game chatter so that members playing in other branches can get to see you. (Because we presume you'll join us in other games as well, so these people will be your guild mates in due time.)

My classic explanation to new people is this: we're at a bar, and you've walked up to us. Convince us you're someone we want to share a drink with. You don't have to be funny, or deep, or whacky. You DO need to be interesting, and the best way to show us you're interesting is to show us there's more to you than just some guy (or girl) who plays video games.

Is there a camp in between that prepares and serves them? I mean breeding tribbles is easy and it doesn't take much effort to eat them with the right seasoning. But do you have any idea how much of a pain it is to shave and clean those suckers so they can be cooked?

Oh, sure... if you want to do it that way. But that method wouldn't fly on my Uncle Jed's Tribble Farm. They skin those little buggers by hand and then gut them the old fashioned way. The upside being that the flavor is a little better and the Tribble fur can be used for coats or rugs.

I tried signing up for th enew site and I don't know if it's age or some odd color blindness but I can't seem to read the random letters in the little box at the bottom and exceeded the allowable attempts heh.
