Update - Whatever happened during downtime has fixed my original issue. I was able to double-click a greyed out shuttle and claimed it successfully.



Created my first character and am unable to claim my Del Taco code Type-8 Shuttle pet due to this error:

"You may only purchase this item once per character."

I had previously claimed it in Open Beta on a character with the same name as my current release character. Anyone else seeing this problem?

It sounds like they wiped the chars, but not the whole profile for our chars. They should of tested the C store more in open beta

I activated the shuttle code during OB. The shuttle was available on my first character earlier today. I deleted that character and created a new one. Once I tried to activate the shuttle on that new character, I got the error everyone else here on the thread is getting.

It says per character but somehow it's been made per account. Please fix it.

I did the exact same thing, created a throwaway character until Borgs were fixed. Deleted when Borg was fixed, and now can't claim the shuttle. Hopefully they can fix it.

Yep... Mine is on my Engineer i made while waiting for my main Borg toon to be available.

Greyed out and cant collect it for my new made Borg now...

"Once per Char" should be exactly what it says... NOT once per account.

I assume this is another problem that we just have to wait to be fixed? I hope so...

Well since im also re-downloading the 10gig game thanks to Steam deleting my game after it crashed, im now experiencing a rather memorable Head Start day... One i wont soon forget.

At least i got to play a few hours on a Character i really didn't want to play at all. just an Engineering alt. *sigh*

I'm just hoping this isn't going to be a worse situation on launch day when people are going to be expecting more pre-order bonus items like weapons or armor and finding out that it will only be available on one character. It needs to be fixed before Tuesday for sure.

I got the same message, but I didn't take it as an error. In any case, the shuttle was in my inventory afterwards. I was disappointed to see that it needed to be equipped as a ship device, though. Why? It's kind of neat, but it isn't worth sacrificing a battery slot.

When I claimed it.. which was right around the time that the servers went up today.. the shuttle was grayed out in the C-Store, but I highlighted it anyway and clicked "claim." After that, I got the same message that the OP describes, but the shuttle was in my inventory. I then had to equip it the same way I would any other ship device. The shuttle then showed up on my hotbar as an "ability" which I can only use in system instances.

I don't know why it isn't working that way for the rest of you, but that's exactly step by step what I did and how it works.

I received the came issue. created a throw away character till borg was available, claimed the shuttle and then created my borg and deleted my other character and now nothing. I think I will wait on tuesday before I claim anything else

I made a human first before I could make my Borg. I DID NOT activate the Taco Shuttle from the Cstore on my first character while I waited. After i made my Borg captain I saw the Item in the CStore grayed out and got the error the OP got. It was not sitting in my original or Borg characters inventory. I don't think the error is because its one per account. I think the Cstore was either overloaded or bugged or waiting for a retail code before it will be active. Those that got it were lucky as it was probably in error to have it pre Tue/Retail key entry.

In any case, I want to go on record as saying that this item is totally worthless. In theory, it's only good as a vanity item, but in practice, it's not even good for that, because the only time you can ever pull it out is in potential combat situations, and you're very likely to be the only one who ever knows you have it.

So.. if anyone doesn't have one yet and considers buying it at the C-Store.. I have to recommend against doing so, unless you really like the idea of seeing a red dot rubberbanding behind you for a few minutes while you're fighting.

the sad thing is I made it a point to go to del taco JUST for the shuttle. I was late returning from lunch because of this and now I can't even enjoy it.

Same issue here. My button is greyed out but the shuttle is NOT in my invenotry.

On a side note I have the Wrath of Khan uniform unlocked but it's not showing up anywhere either.

I too am having the same issue. I claimed the item on a throw-away character just to mess around with it since it seemed like the item was a claim-one-per-character type item. I'm waiting to claim one on my Joined Trill upon launch so I hope the issue is resolved by then, or at least let me transfer the shuttle to another one of my characters if we won't be able to claim-one-per-character as it mentions in the item description.

GM Ticket response was useless. They clearly didn't even read the issue.

This is what I submitted:

I claimed my Del Taco Shuttle pet using a character I created earlier today. Once the Liberated Borg was fixed, I deleted that character and recreated him as a Liberated Borg. Unfortunately, now I am unable to claim the Shuttle Pet. I get the error "Unable to complete transaction (reason not specified)."

Please advise.

This is their response which they consider "Resolved":

In order to unlock your Del Taco Shuttle:

1.) Go to the C-Store Tab (click on the Triangle near your mini-map)
2.) Go to the Special Unlocks tab
3.) Double Click on the Type-8 Shuttlecraft

You will then need to equip the shuttlecraft as a device on your ship.

Note: The Del Taco Shuttle will appear "grayed out", and will also show a red error message that states you can only unlock it once per character. However, you can still double-click it to unlock it on your character.

Sigh. I understand this is low priority, but can these guys at least read the ticket before copy pasting a generic knowledge base response?

That's the same response I got, word for word. There was no way to update or edit the ticket, so I opened another. On the bright side, a ticket concerning a pet item was answered in 13 hours. My ticket concerning a problem with my account/billing has been sitting untouched for 10 days now.

You think that's bad, check the reponse I got:

Greetings, You will receive special items when you activate your retail key, on or after Feb 2, 2010. This includes the Joined Trill. The pre-order key only grants you access to the head start. If after you enter your retail key you still do not have your pre-order incentive items, please submit a ticket and we will be more than happy to assist you.

Then they closed the ticket as "resolved". Didn't even read my ticket I bet. Looks to me like they're just trying to brush aside as many tickets as possible.

Can one of the devs please go kick the support people? This is NOT a preorder issue.

I resubmitted my ticket with big capital letters telling them to actually read it, lol. And I'll keep submitting my ticket until they give me a real response.

I know this is a trivial issue, and it's low priority, but that should be even more reason for them to be able to address this easily enough instead of just copy-pasting a standard response based on "Oh, another shuttle question - no problem, I won't even read this... CTRL-V - RESOLVED - NEXT!"

the only i got was the shuttle pet so i tried it , after the Borg was made it was grey and i got some like unknown error :(

I have my shuttle. I think I would rather have a taco. You're not going to use it since it takes a slot on your ship. Let's see .. do I want this shuttle that only displays in an instance, that disapears in combat, but uses a device slot where I might put a buff that increases my dps by 30% (made up pct but anything over 0 works).

The great Del Taco fiasco will soon have run it's course. Too bad they are bound. I would love to sell it. As it is I'm going to have to throw it away shortly because it takes an inventory slot. Maybe I can put it in a bank somewhere.

The only way to make it less appealing and useless would be that it costs energy credits each time you use it.... or have it constantly draining energy credits by 2 per second because its piloted by a Ferengi.

Someone in marketing sure thought up good way to ruin a idea.

I don't have it in my c-store either. I was able to claim it on my liberated borg before it vanished, but was kind of hoping that I could put it on my trill when I get it. I too will wait till launch before I put in a ticket, but if worse come to worse I can always go back to del Taco for a lnew code
