View Full Version : Head Start Access - Let down by HMV

This may be a big long shot, i've unfortunately been let down by HMV with regards to the Head Start Access code. I emailed HMV in the middle of the week requesting the key as i had not received it yet; i then got an email confirmation from HMV as per below. I called HMV today as waiting a week would not be an option as obviously the game starts in ernest and was promised that they would send out the key by close of play today.

HMV Customer services are now away until Monday which means that if I waited for them I would miss at least half of the head start thats assuming they actually bother sending it at all now.

Im hoping you have some process setup for helping unlucky souls like myself.

Please see below for email confirmation of my order.

Regards,
Simon

One of the GM's on this forum said that if you're having problems with getting into head start or getting your pre-order key that you should call Cryptic's customer service line.

I have spoken to HMV twice this week and was given contradicting information, On Monday or Tuesday i was told by customer services that the headstart key would be distributed by the 29th so i thought fantastic.

On Friday at 16:00 i called them again and was then told that they had run out of keys and anyone who ordered after the January 22nd would not be getting a head start key. As this was contracdictory to what i was told previously they said they would see if they could send me a spare.

I pre-ordered mine on the 23rd :/

Im patiently waiting but not holding out much hope.

Same problem here. Ordered from HMV, but no head start key in the mail :( I have opened a support ticket with Cryptic, not sure if they will help though.

I have been on the phone on hold for about thirty minutes, and I have had a ticket open for about an hour; I am still downloading the client, but definitely uncertain if I will have a response, or a key to be able to sign on once it downloads and installs. It would be nice to be able to get on there today, but if not... Guess i'll have to wait until tommorow when I receive my game key. :(

Yeah, the release date here in the states is Feb. 2nd. From what I have gotten though, there isn't a huge difference in American and European accounts, primarily do to the Atlantic bus. Not sure why companies haven't been able to better coordinate more integrated servers, or releases, internationally.

Still on hold, and still no reply to my ticket. I guess they modeled their customer service after Blizzard's wonderful customer service.

It looks as though the Head Start codes have been withdrawn from other retailers too... Perhaps Cryptic couldn't handle the numbers they already had...

Headstart = Prelauch beta hash up.

I do have a headstart code though, and still can not play as I can not even log on.

You're not missing out too much..

Had the same problemwith HMV,looks like i'm gonna get screwed over my tribble bonus too as they removed it frrom the order page :( but as headstart finishes tomorrow I guess I'll just have to wait for the release on Friday now. Very dissapointed with HMV,been waiting for this game for ages, and now everything goes pear shaped because of a crappy retailer.
