The VKF is recruiting Vulcans and other races who use cold logic, insightful analysis, and superior intellect to defeat our enemies, protect the Federation, and support our fellow Fleet-mates. If you desire to belong to a formidable force in STO, join the VKF! If you wish to belong to a Fleet that actively allies with other Federation forces, come to the VKF. If you wish to have Fleet-mates who will help you in-game and offline, who will watch your back and be there in the crunch, and who will share their knowledge with you (as you will too), then the VKF is your Fleet!

Visit www.vulcankolinahrfleet.com and open hailing frequencies. To our friends, allies, and Fleet-mates, we say Live Long and Prosper. To our enemies, know that we will Live Long and Subdue.

From Fleet Admiral Kuhr:

The year is 2409. You will be entering a hostile time in Federation history. The Course is set. War is the answer for our time! This is taken from "Episode Missions Explained" and I do quote:

"As the story develops, the stakes increase. While Episodes later in the game don't take longer in terms of time or the number of in-game objectives, plot itself accelerates to a dramatic pitch. The threats you'll face are as great as any you've seen in the Star Trek movies. That's not to say early missions are anything to scoff at, however; the early Episodes are designed to be intriguing and dangerous, too.

The Episodes are based on conflict, much like the main storylines in the Star Trek franchise. Conflict drives drama - will your negotiations with the captain of a Klingon Bird of Prey break down and come to blows? How far do you need to go to apprehend a spy on another vessel? 2409 is a time of war, which means even the most resolute captains will need to make tough choices and come to blows to ensure the survival of their faction.

We do, however, want to make the battles you fight believable. You can make diplomatic overtures toward characters in Episodes, but on the front lines it's very rare to avoid confrontation when dramatic forces have guided you into hostile territory with combat-ready antagonists nearby. While there are missions in Star Trek Online that don't feature combat at all, Episodes will by and large demand your abilities as a tactician be put into play."

Even if your by nature a peacful race, you will be engaged in this time period. Their is no neutral ground. You must choose your destiny. VKF is seeking Vulcans who wish to engage their true essence in their blood. To be the best in the sciences, research and War! We need Vulcans who do not fear the edge or the unknown. Logic dictates what action we must chose....VKF choses aggression. Many say we Vulcans are peacful. That we are weak. To much into our logic and beliefs. A change has come. VKF, an all Vulcan Fleet will specialize in Universal Warfare! Total Domination! Complete Annihilation of the Klingons dungy Houses that fester the known Quadrants of Space! Who wish to join VKF on this Epic Journey into a new era of Enlightenment? VKF is organizing the greatest Vulcan Fleet known to VULCAN! Brothers! Will you be part of this? VKF doors are open! At this time, other species may join us! Its up to YOU! Come! My Brothers! Go through this door which is open to you and take hold of your true DESTINY!

The VKF is growing quickly, but there are still a number of open positions in leadership. If you are an experienced leader in MMOs, if you enjoy helping others, or if you just want to be involved in the management of a Fleet, look us over!

Visit us at www.vulcankolinahrfleet.com

Some info to help you decide:

We are medium RP. We respect RL considerations and don't enforce constant group activity. We only require that you provide valuable contributions to the Fleet, in terms of information on gameplay, career progression, mission tips, resource hints, and any other information that you or any other Fleet member would find useful and helpful. Your Fleet-mates will help you with everything from basic concepts to complex tactics and battle strategy, to help you progress in the game and have a thoroughly enjoyable and enriched in-game experience.

We are worldwide and have players in many timezones. We actively pursue alliances with other Federation Fleets. Plus, we all game at varying schedules, so there's always a fleet member (or ally) available to team with in-game.

Our Fleet is organized for matrix management:

We have Four Wings:
Fleet Matters Wing
Administrative Wing
PvP Wing
PvE Wing

Our Fleet is headed by our Fleet Admiral, Sybok Kuhr.

Our Fleet Matters Wing is headed by our Fleet Admiral and is where we discuss game strategy and tactics, as well as internal Fleet Management and Leadership.

Our Administrative Wing is headed by our Fleet XO, and is where we discuss issues such as career progression, recruiting, foreign relations (including alliances with other Fleets), Intelligence, Fleet Forum management, and Supply.

Our PvP Wing is where our Battle Group Commanders and Strike Team leaders and Fleet members discuss PvP activity.

Our PvE Wing is where our Task Force Commanders and Patrol Team Leaders and Fleet members discuss PvE activity.

For most Fleet members, you will report to the officer in charge of your career field, plus the officer in charge of your PvP group, and the officer in charge of your PvE group. This matrix management is set up to help you progress in your career field, and enrich your in-game experiences in both PvP and PvE. Fleet members can choose whether to focus on PvP or PvE, or work both. Our PvP and PvE Wings are primarily for in-game activity, but you'll find lots of good information on their forums that can help you whether you are in group play or playing solo.

Fleet members can also rely on the officers of the Administrative Wing to assist them with all aspects of STO. You'll get good intel from the Chief Intelligence Officer, access to the Fleet Bank and lots of game resources from the Chief Supply Officer, and of course elp with your career field progression from your Chief Engineering Officer, Chief Science Officer, or Chief Tactical Officer.

We hope this information helps you to decide that the VKF is right for you. Visit www.vulcankolinahrfleet.com today!

Thank you Subcommander! We are hearkening back to Vulcan's ancient days, when our race was more like Earth's ancient Spartan civilization structure. We are readying a new Fleet forum, and will be working our alliances to help enrich all our in-game experiences.

It is Launch Day, and the VKF has been busy working since Open Beta and through Head Start. We're ready to go, and ready to help you. I can say with absolute conviction that completing missions such as those assigned by Commader Sulu in Admiral Quinn's office are so very much more satisfying when done with my Fleet-mates. Having a Vent server to communicate allows us to coordinate our efforts to accomplish mission objectives with relative ease. Grinding on your own through these missions can be fun, but it's so much better with group play.

Visit us at www.vulcankolinahrfleet.com and see a formidable force in 2409 - join us as we take shape in the sectors of STO. Live Long and Prosper!

I'm looking forward to meeting the rest of the fleet in game today. Let's hope the login ques are not too insane. (And if they are, I guess I can always try to finish "Dragon Age" while I'm waiting.} :)

Yesterday was pretty smooth I thought, I saw many Fleet-mates in-game, spoke to in vent, and did alot of mission work. Hope your experience was positive - I'll look for you in-game today, maybe we can to a mission together?

We will be building our Fleet starbase at some time in the near future, that's still a game mechanic to be worked out. If you find any good intel on that, please post in our forum so everyone can benefit, thanks!

For folks looking for a Fleet to join, consider the VKF! Read a few posts here, or pose some questions and we'll answer 'em. We're not large, but are growing fast - there are leadership positions if you want that, or just mates to team with in STO - we aim to have the Fleet be what you want (not the other way around).

We don't require much from our members, just some participation (on your terms, not ours), and sharing of knowledge in all things STO or Fleet-related. We are readying a new, better organized Fleet forum and will unveil it soon - to help you find the info and intel you want and need, quickly and without having to spend a lot of time reading posts. The VKF exists to enrich the in-game experience of our members. We are logical, analytical, and have superior intellect (imho). We don't camp, grief, kill steal, or do anything that would diminish the experience of any STO player. We are honorable and will defend the Federation and the highest ideals of the ST genre, this MMO, and fun gameplay for everyone. That includes engaging in glorious PvP battles with enemies, to the mutual enjoyment of all.

To our members, our allies and our friends (and any Federation player), we say Live Long and Prosper! To our enemies, enemies of our allies, and anyone who wants to diminish another's in-game experience, we say Live Long and Subdue!

If you are looking for a Fleet, look to the VKF - our goal is to enrich the in-game experience of our members by providing mates to work with in-mission, good intel on game mechanics, mission tips, and locations of good resources, an in-game Fleet Bank were you can upgrade your weaponry, defenses, kits, etc. (and donate your old stuff to new members), and much more!

Grats on your accomplishments - so far so quickly! Hope your RL wasn't too onerous, and glad to see you back in the game.

I've been leisurely making my way to Lt. Cmdr., ran a few early missions a 2nd time with new fleet members, and am almost ready to trade in my Constitution-Class for a new ship - but I'll miss it! Have collected a few Mark IV items to start my new rank off right (hopefully).

To anyone lurking here and looking for a good Fleet, the VKF is what you've been looking for. We're worldwide, we do medium RP, we have dedicated and casual players, we have organization and structure - all based around our central concept: to enrich and enhance gameplay for our members. We are growing, but have positions of responsibility for those that want it, and comradeship for those who just want to team up with good mates. We are the VKF - join us!

See us at www.vulcankolinahrfleet.com and see if your superior intellect, logical and analytical mind, and zest for STO will help you help us be the most formidable force in the Galaxy!

Do you want a rich experience in-game?
Do you want to fast-track your character, and find resources quickly?
Do you want to know what traits, skills and equipment are best for your character/career?

Part of our Fleet's pre-Launch activities was to plow through the mass of information on this forum, released by Cryptic, and available elsewhere. We culled the important information to create tight and informative game guide info and tips for each profession. It can take you many hours to go through everything on STO, trying to extract fact from conjecture. Let our forum at http://vulcankolinahrfleet.com help you zero in on exactly what you need to advance quickly in STO. Of course, you must be a Fleet member to see this!

We are actively recruiting for like-minded individuals who crave the positive aspects of collaborative gameplay. To All Fleet Members, allies and friends of the Vulcan Kolinahr Fleet:

Our comrade and Fleet-mate, Weed743 has passed away, and we will observe a moment of silence during his funeral. Weed743 was our Chief Tactical Officer, and joined the VKF in June of 2009.

The funeral wil be held on the Gold Coast of Australia at 8AM AEST (GMT+10). At that time, wherever we are, we will all cease our activities and spend a moment reflecting on his life, his passing, and the meaning of existance. HIs brother advises that bagpipes will be playing at the funeral in honor of his Scottish heritage.

Weed743 spent some of his last hours in STO open beta, and also helping us build the Fleet beforehand. His RL brother said that he constantly told him "its better to burn out then to fade away" and that Weed743 lived and died by this philosophy. HIs brother has asked us to please help to keep his memory alive . We shall do so.

To ensure our tribute is timely, please note that 8am on the 26th in GMT+10 is 10pm the night before in London (GMT-0)

For the benefit of our Fleet and STO, here are some times for the moment:

In Belgium, 10pm on February 25th
In London, 9pm on February 25th
In New York City USA, 4pm on February 25th
In Los Gatos, CA, USA, 1pm on Februry 25th
In Alaska, USA, 12 noon on February 25th

I believe I've gotten all the times right, if anyone has corrections or additions, please pm me and I'll update this post.

UPDATE: For any VKF members, allies, friends, or anyone wishing to pay tribute, we will be assembling on Vulcan for a short moment of silence and tribute to our fallen comrade. If you need to get into the right instance, feel free to team with Keysailor@Keysailor before you beam down. Once you are in the same instance, you may leave the team so others may follow. Once on Vulcan, proceed to the bottom of the stairway, where we will be gathering just beforehand. We will then proceed to a nearby hillside for a short moment of silence and eulogy service.

Regards and condolences to the family of our comrade Jack Marshall.

I don't really know what to say, and I hope the internets won't warp the meaning of what I'm trying to get across, so here goes:

I'll be honest about it. I didn't know him. In fact, I only heard of that person today. I can hardly say his death is going to touch me in any noticeable way.

On the other hand, I can relate to how his relatives feel. Hell, I've lost a couple of loved ones myself.

I won't give you my condolences, because that would be just an awful lie. I'll just say that all of us will die eventually. There's not much we can do about it.

It's best to come to grips with that inevitability sooner than later, before it's too late. Say goodbye. But then, it's best to move on.

I'm still working on that part myself in regards to my grandparents, so it's more of a 'do as I say, not as I do' thing. I really hope they won't die for another couple of years.

I'm not exactly satisfied with how I worded this, but it'll have to do. I do wish all of his relatives the opportunity to properly say goodbye. That is what everyone deserves.

Aw hell. Not good with words, I am. :(

We are the Vulcan Kolinahr Fleet - we are mates - we are a team and we have lost one of our own.

Most of us haven't met in RL, but in this world of Star Trek which we all share a love for, we have a bond. Without meeting Weed743, we already know something near and dear to his heart because we share it - the love of this ST universe is near and dear to us too or we wouldn't be here. We know what it has been like to grow up a Trekkie or a Trekker. We share that with Weed743. We know how much fun he had with this fleet and this game at the end of his days because it was the same fun we were sharing and a part of. Feel something real for this real man whom we have lost from our virtual world.

Come to Vulcan to be with us at 4pm EST in the US so that we might honor his passing at the same time as his funeral is being held in Australia.

I know our Fleet feels sadness for the sudden and unexpected loss to his family (Weed743 died in fall after an accidental electrocution), but all have been gladdened by his zest for life while he was among us. If there is an afterlfe, Weed743 is level 50 already!

Print Screen button. The shots can be pasted immediately into a program or rather more handily, if you want them without all the HUD stuff and/or you don't want to alt-tab out of the game, you can find them all later on in a screenshots folder within the installation folder of the game.

I have created a Vulcan SCI captain and Vulcans are my favourite race in ST. That's why I'm interested in your fleet. What should I do to enter?

I live in Europe, so I would like to know if you think it is likely for us to be able to play at the same time: I'm connected by 21h to 23 CET. Of course, if most of the fleet is located in other time zones, I doubt I could collaborate with any of you...

I am pleased that you see the soundness of the notion of a Vulcan Fleet, that treasures logic, analysis and intellect as we move into the turbulent times of 2409. Welcome!

LIke you, Vulcans are my favorite race, and like you, I chose the Science career field - my favorite aspect is tractor beams.

Here is the process you follow to join the VKF:

Visit www.vulcankolinahrfleet.com and register (link at the top of the window for an account. You will get a quick reply via email to verify your address. Click the link in that email, and you become a registered user in our forum.
Go back to the forum and log into the account you just created. Visit the Recruiting Center (link on the left-side menu) and review the articles. Then, go to the Forum (main menu link), and the Recruitment Center forum under the Administrative Wing.
Go to the thread "New Recruits - Apply to the VKF by replying to this post" and post a reply. That is your application for a commission in the VKF.
You will receive one email from me with further instructions. Basically, you wait for your application to be approved (up to 24 hours), and then log into the VKF forum with a new username (the username you used to create your account prefixed by [VKF]). By logging in with that username, you have accepted your commission in the VKF

We are a worldwide Fleet and have members in Belgium, the UK and Iceland, for example. I am in the USA (east coast), and often find myself online and in-game with Fleet-mates from there and other timezones. I believe that as gamers, we all structure our personal schedules to get in as much game time as possible, and there is always at least one (and usually 2-8) VKF members online when I am. Also, the VKF actively pursues alliances with other Federation Fleets, and that widens the circle of potential players - both in terms of being in-game and in the same sector or mission. The STO universe is large, but we always find each other. I think you will be pleased with both the availability of Fleet-mates in-game, and the comeraderie. English is our lingua franca (with some Vulcan mixed in), and we have a Vent server for voice chat. Voice chat really helps out in teaming, much faster than the Chatbox.

I truly hope that you visit our forum soon, and I know you will discover the most formidible force in STO, the VKF. Live Long and Prosper!

He's Josh@Tinead, just type into your chatbox

/tell Josh@Tinead and whatever you want.

He's in-game now, I just left him in Earth Spacedock.

Once you're in the Fleet, we have a Fleet channel for chat as well as a Fleet roster so folks can more easily communicate. It's at the same place as the emotes, just above the list. Oh, and I'm Keysailor@Keysailor

That's the Character@handle, so you will be (your character's name)@Soran-di-Vulcano but once you're in the Fleet you can pick a name off the roster to send pms or tells. And the Fleet zone operates like the Team zone, (as opposed to Local) where only the Fleet sees your words.

If you have a headset, you'll find the Ventrilo voicechat to be a big improvement over the chatbox!

Looking forward to welcoming you to the VKF!

Cheers!

Katra

Some Vulcans appear able to "cheat the grave" by implanting their katra, essentially their living essence or

spirit, into an object or another person via a form of mind-meld just prior to death. The history and

mechanics of the katra have never been discussed in great detail in canon. It was known at the time of

Surak, and Surak successfully transferred his essence into a "katric ark" which remained hidden for 1,800

years until it was recovered by a Vulcan named Syrran in the 22nd century. Syrran melded with the ark

and received Surak's katra, which guided him into creating the Syrrannite movement which fought to

restore Surak's teachings to Vulcan, but was labeled a terrorist group by the Vulcan High Command.

Syrran was fatally wounded by a lightning strike while escorting Jonathan Archer and T'Pol across a

desert region called The Forge in 2154 prior to a short-lived conflict between Vulcan and Andoria. He

conducted a forced mind-meld on Archer and implanted Surak's katra into Archer's mind before he died.

For a brief time, Archer found himself communicating with the long-dead Surak, and Surak began

controlling, or at least strongly influencing, Archer's actions. Surak's katra was so strong that it resisted

efforts to be transferred into T'Pau, but once the Syrrannites overthrew the High Command, the katra

allowed itself to be transferred into a Vulcan elder. The ultimate fate of Surak's katra remains unknown.

KOLINAHR Adult Emotion Suppression Discipline

Most adult Vulcans are satisfied with achieving Venlinahr, the normal state of adult discipline, which most have little difficulty achieving. Roughly 10% of adult Vulcans, though, choose to undergo the rigorous and often long training process called Kolinahr, which leads to the suppression of all emotions and the embracement of total logic. Not all who begin the Kolinahr training will finish it, due to many factors and all the disciplines that must be mastered. Each student's training is supervised directly by one of the head acolytes at Gol and periodically monitored by the High Master herself.

The actual training has no strict time-frame and is customized with regards to the strengths and weaknesses of each student. More than one person has completed Kolinahr in less than a year, but it is most common for someone to spend approximately two to three years in training, at a minimum, to achieve Kolinahr. At the completion of the training, the High Master herself will conduct the traditional completion ceremony. She will mind-meld with the student to verify that Kolinahr has, in fact, been achieved. If successful, the student will be presented with a symbol of total logic to wear around the neck on traditional occasions. The symbol is partially designed by the student during training, so the symbol is unique for each person. This is logical, since all people are unique.

Below you will find an example of the traditional closing ceremony between the High Master and Student at the end of successful Kolinahr training in both Traditional Golic Vulcan and Federation Standard English. The current High Master of Gol is T'Sai and she uses a less "old-fashioned" type of speech than her predecessors. We will use the example of a student named Sovuk here. The acolyte is the one who supervised that person's training.

Traditional Golic:

High Master: Dakh orfik-kel aushfamaluhr shaukaush fi'aifa mazhiv. Sha'koshtri korseiven bai'elkhrul-akteibuhl t'Kolinahr. Acolyte: Kolinahr -- k'fai'ei ek'zherka t'forti foshuhl. High Master: Zup-tor vu akarshif - Sovuk -- i'poprah fasei setebuhk t'ovsotuhl-ozhika.

| ****au setebuhk pa'talu t'orensu - zahal-tor k'kash-naf |

High Master: Kashkau - Sovuk - wuhkuh eh teretuhr -- du naval srashiv t'Kolinahr. Zherka worla tu dungi-tash-tor va'ashiv. Student: Nash-veh itar-bosh. Sochya eh dif. High Master: Dif-tor heh smusma.

Federation Standard:

High Master: Our ancestors cast out their animal passions here on these sands. Our race was saved by attainment of Kolinahr. Acolyte: Kolinahr: Through which all emotion is finally shed. High Master: You have labored long, Sovuk . . . now receive from us this symbol of total logic.

(The symbol is placed around the student's neck, followed by the mind-meld.)

High Master: Our minds, Sovuk, one and together . . . You have attained Kolinahr. Emotions will never control you again. Student: I am grateful. Peace and long life . . . Master: Live long and prosper.

We are the Vulcan Kolinahr Fleet, made up of Vulcans and other races who value logic and analysis, who are medium RP and very organized around our central concept: To enhance and enrich the STO experience for our members.

We are adults who help each other with info and game items (shared in our Fleet Bank), we don't require our members to do much more than share info and intel, and we respect RL - always.

We have members on odd schedules and our membership is worldwide - there will always be at least one VKF member around to team with, and often more. Away missions are real fun with a group of players coordinating on Vent (faster than the chat box), but truly optional, and space battles are...epic!

Mostly though, we are a bunch of life long Trekkies who love the Star Trek world and are having the time of our life playing with our lifelong heroes.

The VKF is growing quickly, but there are still a number of open positions in leadership. If you are an experienced leader in MMOs, if you enjoy helping others, or if you just want to be involved in the management of a Fleet, look us over!

Visit us at www.vulcankolinarfleet.com

I feel that my time here has been well spent and will be no stranger to this thread in the future.

Logic Suggest That when You Face A Highly Improbable Situation Joining Forces With Several Others Would No Doubt Greatly Increase Said Chances Of Overcoming That Which May Appear Impossible.

If you seek to be part of a thriving fleet full of activity and dedication and a certain degree of maturity. Within [VKF], you will find all of those things and so much more. Our fleet becomes more and more co-ordinated with each passing day. As a fleet we have come far in the STO universe and you would become a driving force in pushing the fleet to unknown heights whilst never ignoring an active fun environment. Be it PvE you are interested in or even PvP, we will have what best suits you. Although I say our fleet is dedicated, it also realizes that everyone has lives as well so therefore when you need to take the time, then you don't need to be concerned about your position being lost. We do not discriminate against such things because we understand ourselves that sometimes real life can become a trouble and some time is needed to sort it out again and as a result we have come to be a multi-regional fleet with members stretching from U.S - Japan and all that lies between.

Not only would VKF be a stable fleet to join, it would be one that would offer you a vast number of deeply experienced members reaching back to open beta who are regularly available to give help and support either in game or on our forums.

We are constantly looking for new members of ALL classes and a variety of races to join our rapidly growing fleet, If you have an interest or any further question then contact either @D'Tan or @T'Kota via in game chat or use our forums to register and leave us a message on there or post any questions on the forums(address for which is below):

Welcome to the VKF Ambassador! Our Fleet Ambassador is Vishion, and he is away right now on extended (RL) shore leave. As the Fleet's Executive Officer, I would be happy to discuss opening diplomatic relations with you and the Aurora Fleet. Please visit www.vulcankolinahrfleet.com and register an account. I will watch for your visit and grant your account diplomatic status so you can see our diplomatic areas. Once we have an alliance in place, we can establish an Embassy for the Aurora Fleet on our forum, which would be your soveriegn soil, and a place where you can visit and negotiate a deeper relationship.

I can also visit your Fleet forum and establish a user account, if you have a diplomatic area where we can discuss matters of mutual interest to our Fleets.

I hope that we can establish an alliance between our Fleets and enhance our in-game experience for all members of both Fleets. Live Long and Prosper Ambassador Serin. I will be in touch soon.

Bring your cold logic and indepth powers of analysis and calculation to the VKF. Group action, whether it be combat, exploration, or any other type of mission is very rewarding with coordinated activity.

Build both your own skills and skills of each of your Bridge Officers along these lines
• Tactical: Soldier (damage), Security (defensive/tank), and Special Ops (stealth).
• Engineers: Technician (Buff/debuff), Fabrication (turrets), and Combat (manipulation of the battlefield).
• Scientists: Researcher (Emitters, group buffs/debuffs), Scientist (individual buffs/debuffs) and Medical (healer).

In addition to your skill sets, you can also customize your ship in so many ways.

The mixes you choose in ship design, personal skills and BO skills will give you a uniqueness in STO. Pair that uniqueness with complementary Fleet-mates and enrich your in-game experience by orders of magnitude. Bring all this and your brilliance to the Vulcan Kolinahr Fleet http://vulcankolinahrfleet.forumotion.com and join us as we move into 2409 and a time of intense turbulence in the Alpha quadrant.

Your prodigious powers of analysis, keen sense of logic, and superior intellect serve you well as you explore the STO universe. Team with like-minded individuals who work together to dispatch enemies, complete missions, and explore unknown worlds. Experience the quiet satisfaction of a well-coordinated action where each team member uses their own strengths to greatest advantage, supporting and gaining support from Fleet-mates to enrich the STO gameplay beyond mere mission accomplishment.

It is only logical that you would be reading this. Logic dictates that you put your talents to work for the benefit of the many, rather than the few, or the one. STO is more fulfilling, enriching, and interesting when you join with other people, and even more so when those other people share your values and interests.

The VKF is a medium RP Fleet with members in many timezones across Earth. VKF members are diverse and wide-ranging in their gameplay style, yet come together with grace, respect, and honor to play STO. The Fleet has a Vent server in place, or you can use the built-in chat box to communicate with your Fleet-mates in the same mission, or across the quadrant.

Members of the VKF fight with honor and skill, and always treat other STO players wth respect. We don't camp, grief, steal kill, or do anything to diminish the experience of other players - even enemies in PvP. We share our knowledge of game mechanics, strategy and tactics, and resources to help our members throughout STO. We pool many of our resources in the Fleet Bank so that members have access to the shields, weapons, and other items they need. We have crafting specialists who can take your common items and turn them into uncommon or rare items, or can provide you with the anomaly items so you can create them yourself.

Our Fleet Headquarters is on Vulcan at www.vulcankolinahrfleet.com and you are welcome to visit. We also welcome foreign Fleet diplomats, and can provide an Embassy sub-forum. We actively seek alliances with other Fleets, to expand our teaming opportunities to our mutual benefit.

To our friends, allies, and Federation members, we say Live Long and Prosper. To our esteemed enemies, we will fight you with honor, and we will Live Long and Subdue!

We do not discriminate against such things because we understand that sometimes real life can become a trouble and some time is needed to sort it out again and as a result we have come to be a multi-regional fleet with members stretching from U.S - Japan and all that lies between.

Not only would VKF be a stable fleet to join, it would be one that would offer you a vast number of deeply experienced members reaching back to open beta who are regularly available to give help and support either in game or on our forums.

We are constantly looking for new members of ALL classes and a variety of races to join our rapidly growing fleet, If you have an interest or any further question then contact either @rawtalent or @VKFTKota via in game chat or use our forums to register and post any questions on the forums.

Bring your cold logic and in-depth powers of analysis and calculation to the VKF. Group action, whether it be combat, exploration, or any other type of mission is very rewarding with coordinated activity.

Build both your own skills and skills of each of your Bridge Officers along these lines
Tactical: Soldier (damage), Security (defensive/tank), and Special Ops (stealth).
Engineers: Technician (Buff/Debuff), Fabrication (turrets), and Combat (manipulation of the battlefield).
Scientists: Researcher (Emitters, group buffs/Debuffs), Scientist (individual

buffs/Debuffs) and Medical (healer).

Consider the logic of an Vulcan Lead Fleet, Individuals working with each other to preserve the Federation in these turbulent (and oft-times violent) times. Visit vulcankolinahrfleet.com alternatively send a message in game to @rawtalent or @VKFTKota and join us.

We are the Vulcan Kolinahr Fleet, made up of Vulcans and other races who value logic and analysis, who are medium RP and very organized around our central concept: To enhance and enrich the STO experience for our members. We help each other with info and game items (shared in our Fleet Bank), we don't require our members to do much more than share info and intel, and we respect RL - always. We have members on odd schedules and our membership is worldwide - there will always be at least one VKF member around to team with, and often more. Away missions are real fun with a group of players coordinating on Vent (faster than the chat box), and space battles are...epic!

We are all adult gamers also and although we are mostly Vulcans, we are the rockinest Vulcans you will ever find and, of course, we believe in IDIC so all are welcome! Our vent system is up and working great and we have lots of room for growth and expansion within the fleet. It is a perfect time to join us.

I am [VKF]D‘Tan, Recruiting Officer. Do not hesitate to return post with any questions you may have and I will be right there to answer.!!!

For more information check us out at www.vulcankolinahrfleet.com and see if we are what you want.

You need not be Vulcan to be a member of the VKF, but you will share certain traits that will deepen your enjoyment of STO when teaming with VKF members. Intelligence, logical thinking, analytical in your approach, and honor in your every act and deed will be echoed in your Fleet-mates. Consider the VKF:

We have Vent but don't require you use it
We have Fleet uniforms but don't force you to wear them

We have a worldwide membership, you don't need to match times up to team, there's always someone available
We have a Fleet bank with items to help you equip or craft, you may share them with us
We have a forum for discussion of all things STO, you may share your knowledge as well
We have members of all types and ranks, and Fleet-mates who are in STO for the long-term, ready to team with you

Logic dictates a return to ancient ways for Vulcans, when our race was very similar to the Spartans of Earth's youth. We no longer shun emotion, but use it like a fine-bladed tool to accomplish our goals and win battles. Controlled emotions such as rage can be very effective, particularly on away missions when melee is called for. A single rifle butt may damage an opponent, but a series of quickly-executed, enraged rifle butts can bring down a strong enemy with dispatch.

Join the Vulcan Kolinahr Fleet and find your place in 2409's STO universe. Coordinated team action is the key to reaching the potential of Cryptic's gameplay, and the VKF is doing so with vigor. Visit www.vulcankolinahrfleet.com and see if your cold logic, keen intellect, and calculating analysis will turn the tide of battle. The VKF embraces all races, fights honorably, and heels to the highest levels of both Federation and Klingon ideals.

We are not large, but not small, and we are growing.
We are the VKF, but our members are from many races and characteristics, and we all value logic.
We are worldwide and our members have unique gameplaying schedules that often coincide even across many timezones.
We have a Ventrilo server for voice commo.
We have a Fleet Bank stocked with items to help you equip, and to help you craft.
We have Fleet uniforms, both dress and combat.
We have an active Fleet forum at www.vulcankolinahrfleet.com and there is a lot of good information and intel there to help you in STO.
We have dedicated Fleetmates who will be there with you in the crunch, who are happy to replay missions that are new to you, to help you and let you use your character's skills and your own talents to achieve victory.
We have full Fleet members who participate on both our Fleet forum and in-game, and in-game only Fleet members.
We respect RL always, and never trouble anyone over an extended absence due to RL considerations.
We actively seek out alliances with other STO Fleets to expand the cadre of potential team-mates and further the cause of Fleet needs in STO and with Cryptic.

We have two hard and fast requirements for full Fleet members - share information and intel with your Fleetmates, and team with your Fleetmates - both of which need only be done when it is convenient for you. There are no quotas or mandated meetings and such. All other resources and aspects of the VKF are optional.

We have only one hard and fast requirement for in-game only Fleet members - team with your Fleetmates - whenever it is convenient for you. Again, no quotas or mandated meetings, and everything else is optional for your use if you want it/to.

We exist to enrich the STO experience for our members, and to promote honor in STO. VKF members do not camp, kill steal, grief, or do anything that would diminish the enjoyment of STO for any other gamer. We will fight with honor so that even our Klingon enemies respect us as we defeat them with our superior intellect, cold logic, impeccable analysis, and tightly coordinated teamwork. We value logic, but also hearken back to the early days of Vulcan, when Vulcans were much more warlike (similar to Earth's ancient Spartans) - although in 2409, we have learned to use emotion as a tool like so many others we have mastered. After all, it is only logical to use controlled rage to take down an opponent quickly.

To our friends, allies, and all Federation members, we say Live Long and Prosper. To our honored enemies, we will Live Long and Subdue!

The VKF is growing quickly, but there are still a number of open positions in leadership. If you are an experienced leader in MMOs, if you enjoy helping others, or if you just want to be involved in the management of a Fleet, look us over!

Visit us at www.vulcankolinarfleet.com

To help you decide on which Fleet to join, we would like to provide you some good information to help you make an informed choice. Here is the basic ranking and management structure of the VKF:

Matrix Management: There are two chains of command, both headed by Fleet Admiral Kuhr:
------------------
The first chain is modeled after the STO ranking system. We use Vulcan names for the ranks.

When you first join the VKF, you are assigned Cadet status, and your rank is Ne-lan. You will be promoted once you have chosen a career path and have taken the time to learn and understand a bit about the Fleet, and have provided some contribution to the Fleet. Think of Ne-lan as the tutorial part of STO.

Officer Ranks are roughly equivalent to the STO ranks:
• Ot-lan = Lieutenant
• Tra-lan = Lieutenant Commander
• Zhel-lan = Commander
• Khart-lan = Captain
• Halitra-lan = Admiral

You will progress through these ranks based on your demonstrated performance. This includes providing value on this forum through posting, posting on the VKF Recruitment thread in the STO forum, and in-game performance. VKF Officers see a need, and they fill it. VKF Officers help each other, and respect each other. VKF Officers are trustworthy, honest, and logical, among many other positive traits. We do not flame, we do not gank, camp, grief, or in any way diminish the enjoyment of STO for anyone else, other than by defeating our enemies with dispatch. We share our Intel and game tips with each other. We respect and work with our allies. We answer all Federation Distress Calls.

Your officer rank above is managed by the career Chief Officer. Each Fleet member chooses a career path (Tactical, Engineering, or Science) and reports to the Chief Tactical Officer, Chief Engineering Officer, or Chief Science Officer for career guidance. You also gather and report to the career Chief Officer any information and Intel on in-game activity including game mechanics, tactics and strategy, mission aspects, location of resources and new discoveries, etc. The career Chief Officers will organize this information along with that from other Fleet members and provide it on their thread so all may benefit.

Separate from the above ranking structure, is the chain for designated 'area of responsibility' assignments. These are exclusive of the above ranking, in that even a junior officer may be assigned an area of responsibility, given demonstrated performance, capability, and desire - the needs of the Fleet take precedence as determined by the Vulcan High Council. You should note that being offered a Command position entails a significant contribution to the Fleet, so your rank above will be affected by the valuable contributions you make as a leader in one or more of these positions.

These areas of responsibility currently include:

• Fleet Admiral
• VKF Ambassador to Other Fleets
• Chief Tactical Officer
• Chief Engineering Officer
• Chief Science Officer
• Wing Marshall
• Battle Group Commander
• Task Force Commander
• Strike Team Leader

The Fleet Admiral is Admiral Kuhr, who is our V'las, our Administrator of the High Command, and Head of the Fleet and of the Vulcan High Council. The Ambassador position is our forward face to our allies and potential allies, this position negotiates alliances and treaties on behalf of the Fleet. The Chief [Career] Officers are in charge of career development for all Fleet members in their career path.

The remaining positions are primarily in-game group Commanders. Currently we have one Battle Group Command (for PvP) and one Task Force Command (for PvE), as well as any number of Strike Teams (both PvP and PvE) - all of these need leaders who can leverage the strengths of individual players in all career fields to create a force that will accomplish all missions, win all battles, and help each other in engagements. The leaders selected for these positions will have the honor of naming their Wing, Group, Force, or Team - choose wisely (there is a handy Vulcan-English dictionary at http://www.starbase-10.de/vld/).

These positions may be supplemented by additional positions as the Fleet requires. We expect our Officers to make their qualifications and command aspirations known up-front, so that the Vulcan High Council can assess and make the right assignments.

If you desire a position of responsibility, we have a position for you. Join the VKF! Live Long and Prosper!

Then consider the VKF, we need individuals (any race, any sex) who can lead others in PVE or PVP action in-game. Read some of our recruiting posts and see if the VKF is right for you - it would be logical to assume yes, if you answer yes to the subject question.

If the answer is no, and you would rather be in the ranks, the VKF also needs you, and you can benefit greatly from the help your Fleet-mates will provide. Consider your options, then choose VKF!

It can take you many hours to go through everything on STO, trying to extract fact from conjecture.

I would like to fill a few people in on our small but great fleet, we are easy going, driven and friendly. We all come from different backgrounds and have different ways of doing things, but that’s what makes us great.

Anyone in our fleet is happy to help others when needed, in almost any aspect of the game. We have a fleet Ventrilo that we use not just for the game but to hang out as well.

If anyone wants information on the [VKF] don’t hesitate to contact me or any of our members.

We are actively recruiting for like-minded individuals who crave the positive aspects of collaborative gameplay. We have a Ventrilo server in place but do not require you to use it if you don't want to. Our members are world-wide, and you will always have a Fleet member available somewhere for support and group efforts. In group work, our Fleet coordination strives to be unparalleled, and we will decimate our enemies with dispatch. We will explore and discover everything STO has to offer, and share our findings with our Fleet members so all are enriched.

I am sure you are looking for a fleet to join that will no doubt be a fleet of activity, dedication and a certain degree of maturity. Within the [VKF], you will find all of those things and so much more. Our fleet becomes more and more co-ordinate with each passing day. You can guarantee that this fleet will go far in the STO universe and you would be wise to join us for a fun and active environment. Be it PvE you are interested in or even PvP, we will have what best suits you.

Although I say our fleet is dedicated, it also realizes that everyone has lives as well so therefore when you need to take the time, you don't need to be concerned about your position within the fleet being lost. We do not discriminate against such things because we understand ourselves that sometimes real life can become interfere and some time is needed to sort it out again.

Not only would VKF be a stable fleet to join, it would be one that would give you an experience you will never soon forget or wish to be parted from. You will find yourself pleased you joined our fleet.

The following is a bit of detailed information about our Fleet, how we are operating and intend to operate in-game, and...the why of VKF. There are lots of recruiting messages that simply say, join us! This isn't one of them. This note is intended to provide you with what you need to know about VKF so you can make an informed decision for Fleet Affiliation.

First, why affiliate with a Fleet at all? You may ask yourself can't I have a good in-game experience without belonging to a Fleet? My answer is that, while you can have lots of fun by yourself (actually with your NPC BOs and other NPC elements), an MMO is truly enhanced by collaborative/cooperative game play. MMOs are designed to give you more fun by interacting with other players - you can accomplish or achieve more in the game with more people. Having other brains working on the same problem will nearly always yield a better solution than without.

Second, why not wait, see how the game goes and then decide which Fleet to choose? My answer to this, now that STO has launched, most of us will want to spend our available time in-game, accomplishing missions, participating in battles, and exploring. Right now, is the time to do your research and find out game mechanics - how it will work and what to do in STO. It's also the time (thanks in part to the universe of Trek fans who have decades invested in their fandom) to find folks that you'll want to be with in STO. We think you'll want mates who will help you gear up for STO as well as in-game.

At this point, you are probably trying to figure out what are our Fleet values, goals and objectives, how they will operate, and what you can expect to gain from affiliation with the VKF. That's the primary info that you need to make an informed decision about whether to join us, or some other Fleet. So without further ado...

The VKF's goal is to enrich in-game experiences for all our Fleet members. We will do this by providing valuable Intel to our members on game mechanics, location of resources, strategies for skill-building and ranking up, and extensive collaborative game play coordination. We get valuable info through our Fleet members, who channel information to the specific areas of our forum - and we organize the forum so you can find the info you need quickly. We will organize our in-game group play to leverage the specific skills and abilities of our Fleet members. We have a Ventrilo server ready for use in-game, and will use open beta time to get an advance start on game info for our Fleet members.

The VKF is a medium RP Fleet engaging in strong PVP and PVE game play, with these missions: Search & Destroy, Annihilation of all Klingon Houses, Deep Space Exploration, Diplomacy, Pacts and Trade Agreements, Intelligence Gathering, Strong Resourcing, Building Starbases, Alliances, Conquering Hostile New Worlds, Building State-of-the-Art Starships, Science/Research, Escorts, First Contact.

Our Fleet is organized using matrix management. Fleet Chief Officers manage the three career progressions, and collect career advancement info to help folks rank up quickly, gain resources, etc. All Fleet members report also to one or more Battle Group (PVP) or Task Force (PVE) Commands for coordinated group play in-game. Our BG/TF Commanders (would you like to vie for one?) leverage members from all the career paths to build on our Fleet members' strengths. We believe that coordinated Fleet action in both PVP and PVE environments will enhance both the individual game experience and the 'spoils of war'. We believe away missions will be much more successful if you often go dirt-side with other Starship Captains rather than your junior BOs all the time.

Our membership is world-wide, although we are not huge (yet) - the idea is that there will always be Fleet members online when you are, mates to help out in the crunch. English is the lingua franca although we sprinkle Vulcan words and phrases in liberally for RP. RL always takes precedence, but with our membership and alliances, there will be plenty of gamers to play with. We accommodate hard-core and casual gamers, and will use whatever talent we have. Our command structure is designed to get the best out of all Fleet members while giving them enriched game-play and access to the best Intel for resources and skill-point building.

Our rank structure will follow STO in general, plus we use the Vulcan ranking structure (Ot-lan, Tra-lan, etc.) for hierarchy inside the Fleet, and titles for area of responsibility (like Chief Science Officer, BG Commander, etc.) for coordination of Fleet action and activity.

Unlike most Fleets, we have (and need) only one Admiral at this time. We have openings for experienced MMO toon leaders and organizational leaders (in STO we're using BG/TF Commanders, Strike Force Leaders, Mission Commanders, etc.). We aren't overly focused on promotion for its' own sake, but more for getting the right people with the right skills in the right positions to get the best performance in-game out of our Fleet members. If you want to rank up and/or gain positions of authority in the VKF, applying your skills in the STO and VKF forums now, and in-game once we go to open beta and after launch will earn the rewards you want.

Even if you are new to MMOs in general, or group play, the VKF has a place for you, and will help you go much further and faster than you could on your own. Our objective is for every member of the VKF to have the most fun and engaging game experience possible.

You should by all means check out other Fleets if you want to really make an informed choice. We think that if you've read this far, you've probably already looked a few over, and with the info above, should be ready to make a choice. Choose VKF!

Feel free to visit our forum at http://vulcankolinahrfleet.forumotion.com/index.htm. Once you join our Fleet, you will have access to (and will contribute towards) salient information that you and we all need to enjoy STO to the fullest. Live Long and Prosper!

Are you a natural or trained leader?
Then consider the VKF, we need individuals (any race, any sex) who can lead others in PVE or PVP action in-game. Read some of our recruiting posts and see if the VKF is right for you - it would be logical to assume yes, if you answer yes to the subject question.

If the answer is no, and you would rather be in the ranks, the VKF also needs you, and you can benefit greatly from the help your Fleet-mates will provide. Consider your options, then choose VKF!

Do you want to have mates who will watch your back and help you when you need it?
Do you want a rich experience in-game?
Do you want to fast-track your character, and find resources quickly?
Do you want to know what traits, skills and equipment are best for your character/career?

Part of our Fleet's activities is to plow through the mass of information on this forum, released by Cryptic, and available elsewhere. We cull the important information to create tight and informative game guide info and tips for each profession. It can take you many hours to go through everything on STO, trying to extract fact from conjecture. Let our forum at http://vulcankolinahrfleet.forumotion.com/forum.htm help you zero in on exactly what you need to advance quickly in STO. Of course, you must be a Fleet member to see this!

We are actively recruiting for like-minded individuals who crave the positive aspects of collaborative gameplay. We have a Ventrilo server in place, our members are world-wide, and you will always have a Fleet member available somewhere for support and group efforts. In group work, our Fleet coordination will be unparalleled, and we will decimate our enemies with dispatch. We will explore and discover everything STO has to offer, and share our findings with our Fleet members so all are enriched.

Join us and move into 2409 armed with the best Intel, the most specific and targeted body of knowledge about STO, and a group of Fleet-mates who will be there with you in the crunch. Live Long and Prosper!

Good morning. I hope you will take a moment and consider the Vulcan Kolinahr Fleet. Ours is a small but great (and growing) fleet. We are easy going, dedicated and friendly. We all come from different backgrounds and have different ways of doing things, but that’s what makes us great.

Anyone in our fleet is happy to help others when needed, in almost any aspect of the game. We have a fleet Ventrilo that we use not just for the game but to hang out as well. Many of us are located on the East Coast (USA) but we do have members scattered across the globe.

So please think about joining us and move into 2409 armed with the best Intel, the most specific and targeted body of knowledge about STO, and a group of Fleet-mates who will be there with you in the crunch.

Even if you are by nature a peaceful race, you will be engaged in this time period. There is no neutral ground. You must choose your destiny. VKF is seeking those races who wish to engage the true essence in their blood. To be the best in the sciences, research and War! We need compatriots who do not fear the edge or the unknown. Logic dictates what action we must chose....VKF chooses aggression.

Many say Vulcans are peaceful. That they are weak. Too much into their logic and beliefs. A change has come. VKF, an expanding Vulcan Fleet will specialize in Universal Warfare! Total Domination! Who wish to join VKF on this Epic Journey into a new era of Enlightenment? VKF is organizing the greatest Fleet known to VULCAN!

Brothers! Will you be a part of this? VKF doors are open! Any species may join us! Its up to YOU! Come! My Brothers! Go through the door now open to you and take hold of your true DESTINY!

Our fleet becomes more and better coordinated with each passing day. You can guarantee that this fleet is going far in the STO universe and you would be wise to join us for a fun and active environment. Be it PvE you are interested in or even PvP, we will have what best suits you.

Although I say our fleet is dedicated, it also realizes that everyone has lives as well, so therefore when you need to take the time, you don't need to be concerned about losing your position within the fleet. We do not discriminate against such things because we understand ourselves that sometimes real life issues can interfere and some time is needed to sort it out again.

Not only would the VKF be a stable fleet to join, it would be one that would give you an experience you will never soon forget nor wish to be parted from. You will find yourself pleased you joined our fleet.

Part of our Fleet's activities is to plow through the mass of information on this forum, released by Cryptic, and available elsewhere in many divergent locations. We cull the important information to create tight and informative game guide info and tips for each profession.

It can take you many hours to go through everything on STO, trying to extract fact from conjecture. Let our forum at http://www.vulcankolinahrfleet.com help you zero in on exactly what you need to advance quickly in STO. Of course, you must be a Fleet member to see this!

Live long and prosper!

We do not flame, we do not gank, camp, grief, kill steal, or in any way diminish the enjoyment of STO for anyone else, other than by defeating our enemies with honor and dispatch.

The career Chief Officers and their staff organize this information along with that from other Fleet members and provide it on the career center thread so all may benefit.

Separate from the above ranking structure, is the chain of command for designated 'area of responsibility' assignments.

These areas of responsibility currently include (with additional positions underneath many):

• Fleet Admiral
• Fleet Executive Officer

Within the Administrative Wing:
• VKF Ambassador to Other Fleets
• Chief Tactical Officer
• Chief Engineering Officer
• Chief Science Officer
• Chief Recruiting Officer
• Chief Intelligence Officer
• Fleet Forum Administrator
• Chief Supply Officer

Within the PvP Wing:
• Fleet PvP Wing Commander
• Battle Group Commanders
• Strike Team Leaders

Within the PvE Wing:
• Fleet PvE Wing Commander
• Task Force Commanders
• Patrol Team Leaders

The Fleet Admiral is Admiral Sybok Kuhr, who is our V'las, our Administrator of the High Command, Head of the Fleet and of the Vulcan High Council. Our XO is Khart-lan Keysailor, who oversees all aspects of the administration of the Fleet both in the forums and in-game.

The positions in the PvP and PvE Wings are ‘line’ positions and are primarily in-game group Commanders. Line Officers help leverage the strengths of individual players in all career fields to create a force that will accomplish all missions, win all battles, and help each other in engagements.

If you simply wish to enjoy STO with Fleet-mates, that is also fine. We have a number of ‘in-game only’ members and do not make everyone fit a particular mode. The VKF exists to enrich the STO experience for our members, however that works for each member. While we are a Vulcan Fleet, we do not discriminate against any race or creed of STO gamer – all who embrace logic are welcome to join. Come and be a part of a vibrant community of individuals and help us protect the Federation and defeat all enemies - Join the VKF! Live Long and Prosper!

Then consider the VKF, we need individuals (any race, any sex) who can lead others in PVE or PVP action in-game. Read some of our recruiting posts and see if the VKF is right for you - it would be logical to assume yes, if you answer yes to the subject question.

If the answer is no, and you would rather just be in the ranks, the VKF also needs you, and you can benefit greatly from the help your Fleet-mates will provide. Leaders and players, we all work together to get the most out of STO. Consider your options, then choose VKF!

Even if you are by nature a peaceful race, you will be engaged in this time period. There is no neutral ground. You must choose your destiny.

Consider your options, and then choose VKF!
